Raised to be a strong minded, thick skinned Ilharess under her mother's wishes, Uxia was urged to follow the path the Delyl's had forged for themselves over the years as being a hub for navigating the Starless Sea and moving goods across peoples and factions which would otherwise not speak to one another. She spent her due time as the daughter of a Matron studying under a number of the clan priestesses, and more still drilling herself over political and economic theory. While she lacks a number of the more typical abilities of a matron (concerning battle and warfare), Uxia took a shine to the art of discussion, agreement and persuasion.
While separated from the Undergaia's main tunnels by the water of the seas, Uxia's position as the Ilhress over the first house in the Starless Seas grants her a wealth of opportunities as well as responsibilities. When she first became the Ilharess it was part of her role to share these with her sister Velvel who was often careless. In an attempt to appease her, Uxia recently offered Velvel the funds to raid the surface for whatever she felt necessary.
Uxia has no children, nor at this moment a formal male to make any. Romance is one of Uxia's sorest spots, and is not widely discussed around or with her under her own orders. Her mother, the old matron, felt that her daughter would first need to prove her dedication to her future position, giving her a mission to test this. As a result, Uxia carried through killing her first lover, and the memory still haunts her.
