Returning one last time to the meadow where herself and Dichali had first found each other, Faer sighed as she surveyed with deep blue eyes. The light blue flutter was no where to be found, no bright orange hair or enchanting green eyes. Pink cherry blossom petals rotated around her ankles, low to the ground and showing her heart ache.

Faer glanced over to the cave where it had truely begun between the two of them, they had remained a couple of sorts for a few weeks but Dichali had stopped coming. She never knew the reason why, and her visits to the meadow also became few and far between. The mare's mane blew in the soft breeze, and she knew that finding him again was almost hopeless.

If she could, Faer would take off and look for him from above, but the extra weight that she now carried around her mid-section made it increasingly hard for her to move about. That was one of the reasons she came to the meadow less often, the foals in her stomach had grown big and it was almost time for them to come into the world. She felt that Dichali deserved to know that he was going to have children... their children.

Speaking of the children, they were growing heavy and, with effort, Faer bedded down next to a slow moving stream to rest. She spread her wing over her swollen belly to cover it from the heat and softly nudged it with her nose. This caused some kicking motion from the foals and she laughed softly, before taking a gasp inward at a minor pain. Time was running out, another day or two and the foals would arrive.

A light blue nose poked out of the cave first, then the rest of the stallion's head. Green eyes scanned the area, a grin quickly following as they spotted the familliar mare. Dichali did his best to sneak out of the cave unnoticed, weaving a large circle around Faer, and watched her closely.

Hooves like sapphires made practically no sound. Then again, how could they when the stallion they belonged to was currently no larger than one of the mare's petals. It took a surprisingly short amount of time for Dichali to reach the stream his 'friend' was resting by, and he fluttered over it with ease, only to land on a slippery rock and tumble in. The splash he made was small, but large enough to get a few drops of water on the mare's back.

"Ooops! Sorry 'bout that, Miss. Didn't see where I was landin'!" He chuckled and changed to his full size, nuzzling the mare's neck. "You've been around less, it seems... I had to babysit Phae and Amitola for a bit, but now it's Dusty's tu--" He was cut off at the sight of her wing over her belly. Dichali couldn't see the swolen stomach, but what was the wing resting on? A rock, perhaps? Surely the mare couldn't keep it up all by herself in this heat.

With the combined weight of the foals and the heat of the day, a kalona could have come along and eaten her. Faer lazily looked behind her, thinking the splash had come from a fish. A small fish...but when the bright orange mane clouded her vision and she heard a voice, the mare's heart skipped a beat. Attempts to stand up failed and she gave up after calming herself down. Dichali's soft nuzzle comforted her and she was suddenly bursting with happiness. Nuzzling his nuzzle back, the mare immdiatnly scoulded. " Dichali!! Where have you been? I've been waiting...I used to come back here, but you disappeared. I'm happy your here now though..." She snuffled and wiggled her body as close to him as she could, nuzzling him constantly. The emotions of a pregnant mare.

Attempting one last time, Faer folded her wing back in to her body. This revealed the large, swollen belly and she heaved herself to her feet. When she finally managed to get to her feet, Faer leaned her head against the flutter's back, panting. " Getting around just...-huff huff OW- isn't what it used to be..." The 'ow' had been forced out when a little hoof kicked at her insides.

Dichali raised a brow as Faer attempted to get up, and failed miserably. What's her problem, he thought. The stallion rolled his eyes and sighed. "I know, but I told you I had to babysit for a bit. Miss Midori went off in search of her mate. Surely I couldn't have left Phae and Amitola all alone."

His eyes widened when he noticed the swolen stomach, not sure what to think. It never crossed his mind that the children inside may be his. "Oh, well... Wow. I'm sure you'll make a wonderful mother. Wh--" Catching himself, he shut his mouth. He was going to ask who the father was, but didn't want to intrude. Instead, he nuzzled the mare reassuringly.

Continuing to use him as a leaning post, Faer rubbed her head along his neck and shoulders. Her petals rotated around both of them, and she let out a soft sigh. " Of course you couldn't have left the foals alone. I'm sorry, it must have slipped my mind. I have, after all, been alittle...pre-occupied." Faer chuckled lightly, and opened one eye to look at him. " Babysitting the foals just shows how well of a father your going to be." Faer closed her eye and relaxed as a cool breeze brushed against her body. "...Just a few more days to go, or less." Again, Faer smiled. The foals had made her completely exhausted and useless.

Opening the same eye again, the blue orb watched Dichali's face. What was he thinking? How was he taking the news? He seemed surprised, atleast. Faer thought she best just leave his thoughts to him, let the idea settle in. " Do you know of a soft spot...where I can...erm..bed down?" Faer asked, blushing slightly. Dichali surely would know of good spots, she didn't want it to happen on the hard surface of the cave.

((psst XD -- i'm aiming somewhere near his teepee so she can leave the basket outside))

Chuckling, Dichali nodded. "Well I suppose you have been. I do hope they haven't been too awfully bad to lug around." He sighed dreamily at the thought of his own foals. "I sure hope so... But... I just don't know." His thoughts quickly changed when she mentioned how long it would be. A few days for... What?

The stallion nodded when she asked for somewhere to lay down. "Uh... We could perhaps go to my teepee? There shouldn't be anybody there. Dusty's off visiting with her daughter, and Miss Midori took the foals to the lake today. It's not very far." Nodding, he did his best to look back at the mare's face on his back.

Faer managed to slide her head off of his back and took a few steps forward, attempting to look eager about...walking. She gave a sigh of relief when Dichali said that his teepee wasn't far. " Well, at first it wasn't so bad. The heavy part that is. There was always the queasy feeling, the mood swings, the craving to eat. But now theres the craving to eat more, the swollen belly and extra weight, the kicking, the trampling of my bladder." Faer laughed as she ranted off the list, before getting a slightly dreamy look in her eyes. "...but it's all worth it in the end..just a few more days to go"

Faer turned around to face him, and gave him a reassuring look. " I know for a fact that you'll be a great dad. I think that, well, with your childhood and being...left..." Faer was always careful about this subject, she didn't need to offend anyone. Especially the father of her kids. "...I think you would try your best to give them the things you didn't have. Which would make you a great dad." Suddenly the reassuring look on Faer's face turned into something else. She looked like she was making a funny face for a foal, until the quiet word " ow..." escaped her. It truly would be any day now.

Dichali listened to the list, a brow raised. He knew that pregnancy was no walk in the park, but he didn't think it could actually be that bad. "Well for your sake, I sure hope so." Being sure to walk close to Faer in case she needed to lean on him, the stallion looked around. It wasn't a long walk, but it already felt like it would be.

He smiled, and nodded. She had a great point. "I guess so... Well, we'll just have to wait and see, huh?" Dichali still hadn't figured out that the children his 'friend' were about to bring into the world were his, and his curiousity was growing. Who could the father be? Was it a one-night-stand, or something serious? Many questions were brewing, but he didn't want to intrude, so the stallion kept to himself.

Faer fell back, nuzzling Dichali's cheek softly, before leaning her head on his shoulder again while walking. Even short distances were getting hard to walk and she huffed softly.

The curiousity was killing her, also. What was going through her stallion's mind? He hadn't bolted in fear, the thought made her chuckle to herself, but he hadn't said much either. " So...what do you think?" She asked quietly, lifting her head up and continued to trudge slowly. Even a small look into the flutter's mind would give her peace.

Just then she had an idea. The foals were kicking up such up such a fuss inside of her, it was slightly visible through her skin. Lining herself up slowly with Dichali, she pushed into the stallion. The foals kicked through hers, and she giggled as she looked up at him. " Can you feel them?"

What did he think? He wasn't sure what the question was asking. "About what?" Dichali's eyes widened when the mare pushed into him, and he nodded. "Oh... Yeah, I can." Smiling warmly, he added, "I think it's great. I'm sure you'll make an amazing mother, and that the foals will have wonderful lives." It was true. He knew already that she'd be great to the children, and that she'd raise them right. But something was still tearing at his curiosity. Who the hell could the father be?

Faer was content with the answer, snuggled into his neck with a soft, happy sigh. Though things had moved relatively fast between the two of them, Faer was happy at where she was and she was happy with him. Even better was the fact that Dichali hadn't run away and was taking the news of children very well.
Though the two of them hadn't walked very far, the mare was already showing signs of exhaustion, and the cherry blossoms had now taken position at her feet, moving sluggishly with her. " Are we almost there?" She smiled softly, feeling abit like a child herself and didn't mean to sound whiny.
Without warning, Faer suddenly stopped and shot her swollen belly a glare. " Cut it out!" She growled at her tummy, before continuing on walking as if nothing happened.

Dichali nodded when she asked if they were close. "It's just around the corner." He quirked a brow when she snapped at her stomach, but didn't say anything. The stallion didn't want to come off as rude, and didn't want to get yelled at by the moody mare.

As soon as they rounded the corner, they stood before the large teepe. He went ahead of her, poking his head in to see if anybody was there. "Nobody's home. Come on in." The stallion pulled some furs from a basket his two-legger kept them in, and laid them across a bed of straw. "Don't want you getting itchy. Go ahead and lay down. Is there anything I can get you?" He was concerned for the mare, as she could go into labor any moment.

Faer followed Dichali carefully into the large tent. It was quite large compared to the one she lived in, and smiled greatfully as the stallion made her a comfortable bed. She slowly lowered herself down onto the soft furs, sinking in with a gentle sigh. " Thank you, for letting me lie here. It's a beautiful home you live in." Faer smiled, reached out her slender white neck to lean her head against Dichali's legs, eyes closed while catching a few minutes rest.

The couple hadn't arrived at the teepee a moment to soon. A few minutes in silence, resting again Dichali, Faer's head suddenly shot straight up. Her blue eyes welled with light tears, teeth clenched and nostrils wide as she snorted. The pain of the contraction faded, but it was the hardest one she had felt thus far. It was now, that Faer knew that by the sun rise tomorrow...the foals would be born. Looking up at Dichali, Faer let out a soft whimper. " It really hurts...I'm really scared..."

He simply smiled and shook his head. "No need to thank me. It's really the least I could do for you." Dichali nuzzled the mare lightly when she laid down, unable to help but chuckle. "It seems to get smaller and smaller every day as the foals grow." Nodding, he watched her as she rested her head, hoping she was comfortable.

He wasn't quite sure what to do when she had a contraction. So he did all he could. The stallion nuzzled her softly, and smiled warmly. "It's going to be alright. You're doing great."

The mare took to breathing with a shallow rhythm, trying to stay calm as the pains became faster and more intense. Faer didn't move her head from Dichali's leg, nuzzling it and pushing her forehead into it. Her tail flicked behind her constantly, as if batting away invisible flies. She looked up at him, tears now running down her cheeks and nostrils flared as she continued to breath. With a soft smile she responded to his comforting words but she could only whisper "It'll be all worth it in the end, right?" before wincing and pushing her head against his leg again.
She reached up, and softly tugged at his orange mane, trying to convince him to lie down, before she hurt his leg. Plus, Dichali's stomach looked much more tempting as a pillow then his legs did.
Taking a deep breath, but getting cut off by pain, Faer let it out gently and mumbled with a soft grin, "It's going to be a long night...are you up for it?"
