The evening chirp of crickets awoke Tai from slumber. The white lion sat up, red eyes scanning about. He'd started taking to daylight slumber, if only to try and get an edge over his grandfather. Why? He simply wanted to kill the lion.
As the lilac-marked lion got up, he considered how he'd do this. Toshiro was seasons older than him. He was a full-grown lion, capable of quite a lot, with knowledge of how to do it. Tai was simply an adolescent with a goal. He'd avenge for the wrong done to his great grandmother, the wrong done to his parents.
Shaking his mane out, he started to walk. A white lion at night stood out, but... It was better than a white lion in the daylight. He had his goal... There were no distractions.

Xinavane wandered the night alone. She was still fuming over her encounter with the strange God. Gods existed. That was infuriating enough a notion... especially that it gave merit to the fact that the pride who had attempted to murder her mother may have had some grounds in doing so.
It was no good at all. No good... injustices had been done to her family. In the names of Gods, Demons, or anything else, someone had to bring them to justice. Someone had to bring them all to justice.
A black lioness at night... aside from her yellow eyes and the white markings on her back, she was almost invisible. She liked it better that way. She had an advantage over anyone else in the dark...
She wanted an advantage. She needed one. If she was to discover a way to move against lions who destroyed in the name of Gods... she needed to use every advantage she could find.
She had a goal. She had something she wanted. Now she only had to discover how to meet her goal...

Taichi paused, his lilac ears moving about. As he looked around, he frowned. He'd heard someone... Or something. Whatever or whoever it was, he wanted to find out. Perhaps it was Toshiro...
A grin spread across the white lion's face, before he stalked off. Crouching low, he listened for the signs of the other passing. When he could hear them near by, he jumped out, claws and fangs out and ready and body tense for attack.

Xinavane pivited - just in time- when she heard something crashing towards her. She barely had time to think that she should have been quieter... before she was hit by someone much larger than she was.
Now, Xinavane had never been in a real fight before, but that didn't mean she hadn't been trained for one. She had been on the run her entire life. She was perfectly capable of handling herself... well, in theory anyway.
"Don't-Touch-Me!" She screamed, swiping out with her claws at the larger -seemingly male- white lion. She was furious. No one. No one could attack her and get away with it!

Tumbling, the male growled. When he got to his paws, he found himself staring at a dark lion... But not the one he wanted. He snorted, backing off away from her swats. "Sorry, thought you were someone else."
Dancing around her, he scowled. "You're terrible at fighting, you know. If you swat like that, you'll wear yourself out and your enemy will get you first." His tail flicked as he moved, doing best to keep out of range.

Xinavane danced back and snarled, feeling annoyed right away with this lion. How dare he!? She had already beaten him back, and he was complaining? b*****d.
"Well, I hate to say it, but you're no brawl champion either. I heard you coming a mile away." Xinavane sneered back, dancing around him as well, not taking her eyes off of him.
She couldn't risk that... even though he was so damn bright, he was hard to miss.

Tai barked with laughter. "Fighting's not all about strength and stealth, sweet cheeks!" Moving around, he grinned. "You're doing the smart thing, though... I'm still in your line of vision..."
He paused, ears flicking. "So tell me, why're we fighting? Besides the obvious of I pounced on you..." He crouched, starting to loosen up. "Even match and all..." He wasn't stupid. Just because she was female, didn't mean she was a worse fighter. For all he knew, she could be... What was that word he'd heard once? Neenjo?

"Frankly? I'm going on the assumption that you want to kill me. Aside from that, no idea." Xinavane answered, honest and blunt. Really, this guy obviously had been in more fights than she had... or he was as good at faking it as she was.
She knew all the right theories about fighting, but she had never done much of it herself, except basic practise with her siblings. This was real. This was real danger. And she couldn't panic. She wouldn't let that happen.
She couldn't die yet. She had better things to do. She had more important things to do.
"Really... it comes down to why do you want to fight me, white boy?" She asked, flexing her claws with a rather satisfying crack.

He let out a snort, glaring. "What kind of animal do you take me for? I don't kill girls." He sat down, putting a paw on his chest. "It's not gentlemanly, for starters." At least a few manners had made it through...
He'd dropped his more violent guard, and it was very obvious. He wasn't going to attack, and was placing faith in the idea she wouldn't attack, either. "I don't want to fight you, anyway." He eyed her. "I'd rather not waste energy on a pointless fight." He had an older and more experienced target.

"Believe me... plenty of animals kill girls. Lions are no exception." Xinavane said, her own guard still up as she watched the other lion, "And 'gentlemen' are only polite enough to inform a girl before they attack her, from what I've seen, it never stops them." Her bitterness showed through, despite everything. She had no reason to trust him... so she kept ready.
Even though he wouldn't attack her, she wanted him to know that she wasn't above attacking first if he decided to try anything. "And I wouldn't waste energy on a fight with you... not when I have bigger fish to eat."

Tai snorted, glaring at her. "My mother raised me better than that. And anyway, if I went around attacking girls, my grandmother and grannie would be disappointed in me." His tail curled, before he stood up.
"So it seems we both have other things we'd rather use energy on." He tilted his head, regarding her. "But there's not so much energy in asking your name, is there?" He motioned his one white paw to himself. "I'll spend the energy to tell you my name is Taichi."

"Heh... whatever." Xinavane snorted. Then she seemed to relax a little. "Xinavane. I'd say I was pleased to meet you... but I'm still deciding whether or not I am." She didn't take being attacked lightly. It was just her... nature, she supposed.
"So, what are you doing attacking random lions in the middle of the night?" She asked, taking a more careful look at the other lion. He was large, that was certain... bigger than she was. He looked tough too... someone who would need to be watched. At least for the moment.

Tai frowned, shrugging. "Can't blame you there." His tail curled as he looked at her, somewhat amused at how all the lions he met were either red, black, or white. What WAS it with those colors, anyway? Even Haki was almost black...
He scoffed, ears moving back. "I'm not attacking random lions. I'm trying to find a specific lion." He motioned with a paw. "He's easy enough to spot... He's black and white and has gray hair and green eyes." Well, that was descriptive... "Like... The white on him is splashed on like mud."

"Well... I most certainly don't have green eyes, nor am I male." Xinavane pointed out blandly, still unimpressed. Though she did grin when he said he couldn't blame him, "So, what did this lion do that made you want to kill him so badly?" She asked.
She was curious... she knew a thing or two about hating lions, but she hated groups. No one specific. She went after a whole set... what would it be like if she put all that anger onto one person? Now wouldn't that be fun.

Scowling, Tai drew crude pictures in the dirt. "If you were to look at my father's back, you'd see what he did. And my Grannie. He acts kind to you at first, but the slightest thing can make him turn on you." He looked up, red eyes blazing. "Since my father was a cub, my grandfather used him as a punching bag. And he's been known to attack Grannie, just for having other cubs around her."
Tail twitching and thumping the ground, Tai glared at the drawing of the piebald lion. "I seek him to kill him to avenge the suffering he's caused my family. He brings nothing but pain or anger to those he comes near. I've met him twice... And he tried to drain my very blood the second time." He swiped a paw over the drawing, growling. "I have to find the vampires and kill him, or he'll do worse than he already has."
