Story
A 16-year old girl named Feranis is a normal teenager. She goes to school (and hates it), hangs out with her friends at the mall, and has a decent relationship with her parents. This, however, is getting very boring for Feranis. She feels like she's missing something, although she doesn't know what it is.
One night, while she was sitting up, writing in her diary, a white cat jumped through her second-floor window and onto her bed. Feranis tries to shoo it away, but it won't leave her room. She gets frustrated and jumps toward the cat, trying to catch it. She falls on the floor, but it's unusually cold. The chilly night air is gone and she finds herself in a dark, warm room. She picks herself up from the tiled floor and searches around for a light switch. After tripping over a few things, she finds a switch and clicks it. The lights come on, revealing what appears to be a large robot being held up as if it was being worked on.
The ground shakes violently and Feranis falls to the ground again. The machine's head moves slightly, then it begins to struggle against its constraints. Feranis panics and tries to open the door behind her, but it's locked from the outside. The machine breaks free and walks over to Feranis, then bows down as if inviting her into its cockpit. Hesitantly, she climbs in, seeing no other way to exit the room. The cockpit comes to life when she sits down.
The ground shakes again and Feranis can hear voices outside the door. She wants to get out, and the machine responds by ripping out the door and a part of the wall. It walks into the hall, where a group of soldiers was guarding the door from an enemy force on the other end of the hall. The soldiers scatter and Feranis' mech runs forward, quickly disposing of the enemy troops. The remaining troops flee, leaving Feranis and her mech standing in the middle of the hall. The head soldier walks over, shocked, and motions her out of the cockpit.
“What do you think you were doing?!” the head soldier yells once Feranis descends the mech.
“It's not my fault...” she replies, shifting uneasily.
“The scientists put a safety lock on it,” one of the other soldiers says. “I doubt she could have overridden that lock, Jaren.”
“Someone had to do it!” the head soldier, Jaren, said, looking around at his soldiers. The mech collapses behind Feranis and she runs behind the soldiers. Fade out.
Fade in. They are in what appears to be a meeting room. Feranis sits on one end, and investigator on the other. A record keeper and a few of the soldiers, including Jaren, are on the sides.
“So, you're saying that you're not sure where you are?” the investigator asks.
“Yes. I was in my room, trying to catch a cat that had wandered in...”
“Are you sure it was a cat?” the investigator asks.
“What does it matter?” Jaren pipes in. “You can't actually believe this story.”
“What's the date?” the investigator asks Feranis, ignoring Jaren.
“It's September 20, 2007,” she says honestly.
“So now you're telling us that you came from 2007?!” Jaren asks incredulously.
“Of course. When else would I come from?”
Feranis discovers that it's actually the year 2520 and that the cat she saw was a program withing the mech that was going to be used for secret investigations. The scientists try to figure out why the mech, which is labeled IT-230, acted on its own, and also how it managed to transport her to its time.
But, they don't have much time to figure it out. The army has sent a second wave of forces coming from the planet Lecktin II. Feranis is given a room inside the base in case she's needed, and during the attack her hallway is under attack. She tries to run, but is captured by the enemy troops. She's brought to a POW (Prisoner of War) camp and held for ransom.
While there, she meets a woman who takes care of Feranis. Before long, the Earth army begins an assault on the camp to retrieve her and the others from the camp. The woman, Redalline, goes with Feranis, saying that she no longer has a home after it was destroyed by the Lecktin II forces.
When Jaren meets up with her, he makes sure that she's safe and tells them, by cursing out the scientists, that IT-230 was chained and bound during the conflict and wasn't able to get to her, although it certainly tried. He brings them to the Council, the ruling body of Earth, which is composed of 9 members. (This can be changed if anyone has a better idea for the ruling body.)
The Council tells Feranis that she is extremely important to their research and a top priority. They instruct Jaren and Redalline to stay with Feranis for protection (Jaren isn't too happy about having his position changed again.)
Characters
Name: Feranis
Age: 16
Description: Feranis is a normal teenager, but she has always felt like she was missing something. She tends to be adventurous, but safe, and she doesn't do anything that's too risky. She tends to be shy around new people, but she's very open to her friends and family.
Name: Jaren
Age: 26 (I upped the age a few years)
Description: Jaren is very unhappy about his position. He was transferred from his position as a regular soldier because of his temper, which interfered with his duties and he began to ignore orders. He was re-assigned to the guard of IT-230, where he was put in charge because of his experience under the agreement that he was to be held responsible should anything happen to IT-230.
Name: Redalline
Age: 34 (Actually 234, but that's revealed later)
Description: Redalline is a dark magician. She specializes in destructive magic, and this strange power has granted her immortality. She was discovered in 2481 and has been watched very closely. She sees something unique in Feranis and becomes a sort of mother to her.
