It was finally time to take the little kidlet to the beach, Marijus had thought. He finally had some time off from the clinic and wasn't much interested in spending his day indoors. So that morning he gathered up all their beach equipment and headed off for the beach. Though the walk was a bit longer then expected it didn't seem to phase the dust child one bit. In fact, upon reaching the coral cost the little child was already at a run hitting the waves long before he realized he couldn't swim. A current picked him up instantly tossing him out to sea upon which Marijus sighed. "That little brat!" He muttered.
Pulling his shirt over his head he tossed it aside and hurried at a run to scoop the child from the sea. "Cada, what are ya thinkin' boy? You can't go running out there like that..." He berated the dust child but couldn't stay mad at him for it. Cada looked up with teary eyes forlorn that he couldn't swim.
"Ah cut the water works. I got some things for ya." Marijus sighed heading back to their things. He quickly put some floaters on the child's arm and gave him a tube which fit snuggly around his waist. "There, stay near the shallow end where I can see ya."
"Okay!" Cada called out rushing for the water again despite nearly drowning moments before. He didn't let too much get him down, it was suppose to be a fun day after all.

The beach.. Of all places, the weather being was it was today, did it have to be here..? Once again, Adrien found himself on sibling-sitting duty, despite how busy he had been in moving his things out of his parents home, at long last, while the parents in question decided that they needed a break to go traveling to the next city along. Only the gods knew why, he had a suspicion they were having something akin to a dirty weekend, the weekend having evolved into a dirty week in a different city.. The thought chilled him, he stuffed his hands further into the deep and uncomfortably hot pockets of the black, knee-length jacket he had donned for the sea-side excursion. His knuckles found the bottle as they traveled deeper, the small-ish thing having mysteriously found it's way to his pocket once again. He strongly suspected Eden of this foul-play, since she had discovered his unease regarding the glassy object he had found it mysteriously moving to be in close proximity to him when his back was turned.. Mmmhmm, very amusing, he had snorted.
Adrien continued his heat-hampered walk along the promenade running beside and a little above the beaches, clad in his favourite coat. Black. It was not a sensible colour, he admitted, but it had big pockets which ere always useful when looking after a smaller child, especially when all your bags were stuffed full of clothes and other such important bits and pieces at your new home leaving only a pink, frilled affair for general use at his parents home. Indeed the coat was the best choice, despite the head.. That and he really was just rather attached to the thing, dark colours made him feel more at ease when presented with an environment filled with noisy people, it made him just a little bit nervous, which was amusing considering how he looked with his slightly fierce eyes, piercings and a small goatee.
"C'mon, there's a space there! PLEEEEEASE can we go now? Pleasepleaseplease?" Adrien gave the small child in front of him a slightly startled look at the sudden barrage of pleas and excited pointing at one of the emptier beaches, towards the end of the stretch of sand and pebbles. "Oh..? Oh! Yeah, go ahead then. I'll catch you up." He smiled slightly dotingly as she ran ahead, down a small flight of stone steps and out onto the beach with gleefully excited noises. "Ugh.." Was Adriens contribution as he loped slowly across the sand, sinking ever so slightly in the white sand, his boots did not make for idea footwear, eventually coming to a stop and sinking down where Eden had abandoned her towel and the clothes she had worn over her bathing costume. He pulled a face as the sand warmed his rear to an even more uncomfortable temperature than his jacket had managed to.
He took a moment to have a good look around the beach, not quite so many people here, that of which he was most thankful.. There did seem to be one person that he would have ear-marked as a trouble-maker.. A small child with slightly darker skin causing a bit of a ruckus before he charged away from his parent and into the water. A noisy one too it seemed.. With an uncomfortable grunt, Adrien shifted and pushed the bottle a little further away from him within the pocket as it almost vibrated, catching an air of excitement from it. "What th-" He was cut short of his musing by the sudden splash, and looking up, he quite pointedly smacked his palm to his face as he observed his little sister savaging another child with one of her large inflatable creatures. He glanced about sheepishly, wondering which person the assaulted child belonged to and if it would be wise of him to apologize to them or if he could get away with it by keeping a low profile. Of course it's hard to have a low profile when you're the only one of the beach donned in black from head to foot.

Cada was content to just float about in the water, his eerie yellow-green eyes dancing with mirth at the clouds that floated overhead. He had no idea another was upon him and only had seconds to even feel a sudden familiar pull at his heart. When he looked up the pull was stronger, the kind he got when around his kind. Looking over the beach his eyes fell upon his father then scaled along until someone dressed in all black caught his attention. He smiled, the pull was coming from him but he didn't feel anything remote when looking in the man's eyes.
Then he found himself beaten in the head by an inflatable toy. His body jerked and tossed as he flailed about kicking and screaming for salvation. "Ah! Stoppit! Stoppit!!!" He cried out showing his childishness for all the world to see. He continued to flail kicking at the girl until he grabbed her toy biting into it enough to poke a hole. It quickly deflated as he glared daggers at her then reached out to pull her hair. "No!" He shouted uproariously turning the tables on the girl with little thought on his part.
Marijus was on the sand enjoying the relaxing cool breeze. He'd have been fine if Cada hadn't started up with his loud squealing again. As he looked up he found the girl attacking him and rolled his eyes to the sky. It wasn't unusual for the kid to be attacked, his strange skin and eerie eyes had a tendency to scare some kids badly enough to start attacking him at random. Standing to his feet he made his way over to the kids slowly, giving the parent of the girl time to see the altercation for their self. "Whoa! Cada what did I tell ya bout hittin' girls?" Marijus jumped in snagging the boy by his waist and lifting him from the water. Cada stuck his tongue out at the girl kicking and screaming though he calmed somewhat at his father's soothing.
Looking down on the girl, Marijus wondered where her parents were and looked around on the beach. It wasn't crowded a few people making their way in as it were but only one other person stuck out like a sour thumb even as Marijus watched the other slap his face to indicate his annoyance. "Bingo." Marijus breathed. "I take it that be your charge, sir?" He called to the man in black ushering the girl from the water while hefting Cada along with him. "Normally I'd find random assaults between children a bit detestable but Cada is different from some kids so I'll let this slide... though he's no better off pulling her hair." He grumbled to indicate his displeasure of the dust child's behavior.

Adrien flinched a little at the sudden uproar his small sibling had caused, who would have thought such caos could have come from such a simple action, a playful one but she had never really understood the ideals of ones personal space. He pushed himself up to his feet after peeking through his fingers for just a moment longer, he really should go to her aid even if deep deep down she probably did have the hair pulling coming.. He wouldn't be too sad to see the inflatable monster of a toy gone, sadly.
Eden squealed back at the odd looking kid as he made a grab for her hair and.. And.. "YOU KILLED IT!" She hollered in dispare, her eyes shining with the threat of tears, over the toy and the tugging at her scalp, "You monster! You meany!" She thrashed about a little, giving the boy a bit of a push back.. Or at least she would of had her not suddenly.. Grown rather.. Instead she looked up at the taller man and make a very un-lady-like face up at Cada in response to the tongue she found being waggled at her. "Just you wait until my brother hears about this!" She challenged, looking over to the approaching figure in black.
Adrien caught the tail end of this.. Exchange and looked all the more sheepish, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand while the other strayed to his pocket to rub his fingers absently over the cool glassy surface of the bottle. "Ahh.. Yes, sir.. Unfortunately so, she does seem to have this knack for.. Well, she either makes friends straight off the bat with her overly forward nature or, as you've seen she makes more of an enemy." He looked all the more embarrassed as he reached out to grasp his sisters hand to tug her closer while she protested that she was not defending her honour. "Now Eden.. We have had talks about this before, I think you owe.. Uhm.." He looked to the others for a name for a moment, "Well you owe both of them an apology don't you think..?"
Eden agreed albeit in a somewhat surly manner, a slightly muted reply, a with a nudge from Adrien she made eye contact as well. An embarrased but sincere apology. Adrien continued to look somewhat ashamed of the whole situation, hand on the bottle even as he released Eden to go and amused herself. "How embarrassing.." He muttered to himself.

Cada looked up sheepishly curling himself around Marijus' backside as if to shield himself against the girl's onslaught of words. "I didn't do anything, papa.." he began but was met with a quick slap of a hand to his cheek. It didn't sting more of a reminder never to over talk an adult.
"Hush boy, this doesn't concern you." Though it did, Marijus was more the type to finish an altercation before it started. "Let's just call it even." He offered, snagging Cada by his neck he pushed him forward softly, "What do you say to the little miss?"
With a hefty pout he looked back and forth between the girl and her brother, a slight tickle itching at the back of his mind. This only happened when he was in range of another dust but the man didn't give off that vibe nor the girl... "Sowwy for pulling your hair." Again that same tickle. Stalking forward Cada circled the other sniffing lightly. "Papa I smell something..."
"Cada! That's rude get back here!" Marijus yelped.
"But he smells like dust... like the others do but faint." Cada whined stepping back.
With a half smile Marijus pulled Cadaver back rolling his eyes. "Sorry bout that, but if he's smellin' something on ya, chances are he's got it right... um... you wouldn't happen to have found a bottle as of late, strange in appearance, even stranger that you can't seem to leave it for longer then a minute?"

Adrien jumped a little as the other child was struck by his.. Parent? Guardian..? His eyes widened, his eyebrows arched as he gave the small boy a slightly concerned look for a moment.. He didn't seem to be hurt by it. Looked like he himself was more concerned than any other party, and it wasn't really his place to say anything about it. He turned his gaze down to his sister as she nodded, accepting the apology, having the grace to look a little ashamed of her own behavior before she went off on her own once more. Adrien looked after her as she scarpered back into the waters after her remaining inflatable.
"Even.. Yes, I suppose that's fair, but I do believe that it was Eden, my sister who started it all in the first place, again my.." He broke off for a moment, straightening up a little more where he stood as the other small boy started to circle him, "My.. Most sincere apologies.. Wh-What are..?" His embarrassment only increased at the sniffing, he knew he had good hygiene, so what was this about? Maybe it wasn't as good as he thought..
"Dust..?" He queried, "I smell musty..? I was in the attic only a short while before we came to the beach." He tried to explain, hoping that that is what the small child meant by 'Dust', and 'smells funny'. His eyes darted from the child to his guardian and then back again before down to his pocket.. "A bottle.." Again his hand went to his pocket though he withdrew it fairly swiftly as the glassy contained was practically vibrating. "A strange one..? Cannot leave it alone..?" He gave the older man a curious look, his eyes narrowed, "Feels like it has.. A sort of awareness, do you mean..?" His hand clasped the bottle through the outside of his jacket this time. "How and why do you know of such... Peculiar occurrences?"

Marijus nodded figuring as much. He gave a soft nod of his head toward the dust child who gave a kick of sand at his feet. "I'll go." He offered and went to busy himself with something to do, perhaps he would offer to build a sand castle with the girl. Rushing over his squeals were all that remained as he departed.
"He's a strange one that kid but more importantly. The reason I ask is because I've gone through a similar dealing." With a shrug Marijus pulled away from the water's edge being a bit chilly for his liking. "That kid... he came from a similar bottle though moldy and it had a rancid smell." He never did figure out why that was, even now as he watched the boy, he wondered about the strange complexion to his skin and the even stranger decay.
"Cadaver. He was quite found of the name I never had any intention. I'm not sure but there are others, like yourself. They have bottles strange in appearance, and oddly unwilling to be away from it more than is necessary." Though he seemed knowledgeable that was about as far as his knowledge went. "I'm sorry I don't know as much as some of the others, I'm only getting used to it myself. The only tip I can give you is be prepared. It's going to get interesting from this point."

Adrien could not disguise the slightly shocked look that crossed his face when he heard that the other man had gone through the exact same things that he had thus far.. And the look only intensified when he heard that there was yet more to come! He looked past the other man to the kid again as he went off to play, the shocked look slowly becoming more anxious, "You.. You mean that the bottle..?" He broke off as he looked down to his pocket, withdrawing the bottle from it's dark depths. It went silent as it was pulled into the light, seemingly shocked at the sudden difference in light. "This will turn into a small child..?" He sounded ever so slightly dispareing at that thought, "How am I going to explain the appearance of a child..?" He mused aloud, his eyes fixed on the bottle as its usual shimmering within slowly started occurring again. It seemed to be becoming a little more at ease being out in the light.
Adrien looked to the other man again, "Be prepared..? Man.. This.. Is rather a lot to try and take it." His expression slowly turning to concern once more as he rubbed his thumb back and forth over the bottle in his hands. "Could you tell me.. How quickly it will turn into.. Well.. A child? I can't even bare the thought of giving the thing away.. The idea of it makes me feel really odd.. I need to start preparing I suppose." He nodded, sounding a little unsure of himself even as he committed himself to the task ahead. "Sorry.. I'm rambling, asking you advice and I have not even asked your name, nor introduced myself.. I am Adrien Chrysanthos." He shifted the gently humming bottle to one hand to extend the other to the man in belated greeting.

"Dr. Marijus Virile, nice to meet'cha." The doctor greeted in return, present his hand in a friendly warrior's handshake. He quickly wen to placing his hands back in his pockets giving a warm chuckle at Adrien's reaction to the bottle's future state. "It's expected actually, I didn't believe it at first either but when Cada came to be and the bottle disappeared it just clicked. You don't know why or how but you can just tell, the attraction and pull to protect them is really strange." He gave a much needed stretch eying the dust child as he squealed and played peacefully with Adrien's sister this time.
"He's a good kid, gets into trouble sometimes but well mannered. Something like a brat if you ask me but I suppose its payback." Pausing he looked to Adrien's bottle smiling. "That's a beauty, your bottle. The only way I can probably help to prepare you is just be mindful of what you do and say, the child is developing inside some how, he or she can hear you, they respond in the oddest ways. As for when the child will come along, it's different with everyone from what I gather. No two bottles are alike and they don't seem to change at the same time. Cada gave me more trouble then he was worth...but the key is to find the element the bottle represents. You'll know when it begins to shimmer." He smiled then looked to the dust child. "Cadaver, his element is not necessarily an element more a disease, pest if you will. He can cause a great deal of sickness but being around him I'm practically immune to all forms of sickness, disease or plague... I suppose those are the perks while everyone else suffers." He sighed at this thought.
"It sucks because I'm a doctor in medical research... it does really suck." He offered then fell silent allowing the new guardian time to soak in what he had just said.

Adrien nodded slowly as he shook the doctors hand, returning to holding the bottle in both hands when it was released. "I think I know what you're taking about already, with regards to wanting to be with the thing and look after it.. Though I have to admit, I do still feel like a fool when I think about it too long when.. Well.." He looked down at the bottle as it shimmered almost defiantly at his next words, "It's just a little bottle!" He couldn't help the little grin at the shimmer, he was teasing it gently already! "And an element.." He murmured, "I suppose that will become evident with a little more time. Hopefully you won't give me too much trouble with that.." He smiled down at the bottle.
"Uh.. Thank you though! I think the compliments should help cheer the poor thing up after I have upset it so. But I do very much appreciate the advice.. I'll make sure to watch what I say around it now.. I wouldn't want it to call me on certain things later on, hmm..?" He smiled all the more, giving a glance past Marijus to his sister who seemed to be having rather a good time with the other child.
"Disease..? He won't be harmful to Eden will he..?" The look of concern returned for a moment, he felt rotten at the idea of his sister getting ill, but equally so for denying the dust child a chance to play.

Marijus could understand the concern after all he had come down with a particular illness himself when Cada had only been a bottle. Now that he was healthy he couldn't remember a time where he sneezed, coughed or even broke a particular sweat outside of hard labor which was few and far between. In fact, had he gotten sick since that dreadful day? The answer was no.
Though he didn't understand much more past what Cada was already learning about himself. "He's prone to give people illnesses if they provoke him. I've learned he likes to blame bad things on his stuffed toy, Mr. Happy. An odd name for such a frightful entity but Cada is not so frail and innocent. He has a darker side I just hope he never has to rely on it." Looking to the boy who pelted out a peel of laughter falling into the water after being pushed ever so gently he wondered to himself. "She is safe, you have my word. And even so I've been working countermeasures to his illnesses that he gives off. Common flu and cold symptoms I know its not much but I have to take responsibility if he cause an epidemic. For now he's safe, as long as he's smiling he's no trouble to anyone."
