It was evening and her shop was closed... just as Abacus had requested. She was infinitely happy that someone had approached her for sparring and was waiting anxiously for the Zero to arrive in the Arena. Around her, Opal and Jadeite floated about, sensing her desire to get moving. Shimmering the two would chatter at each other and then float around to the opposite side, keeping their master company.
Kallisto knew that Abacus had said no familiars... or any special items at all but she wanted the Phlegm to meet Opal and Jadeite - the former being a newer addition and the latter a long time friend from when she was a Zero as well. Perhaps he would like them and consider looking into acquiring one? That was part of what Euphrasia sold, after all - Abberations (And Kallisto had a growing fondness for them.)
Stretching out some more, the sanguine stood out in the center, easily seen.

Was he late? Agh! So much for the accuracy of his alarm clock! But at least it was a good warm up, and at least he was able to stretch before he noticed the time. At least he'd be ready to go, and if she wasn't there he could get some more stretches in --
Nope, there she was. Feeling foolish, he ducked his head to hide the inevitable blush before lifting his chin again. Hopefully he wouldn't be too red... "Hey!" He greeting, offering a wave and then slowing to look at what Kallisto had with her. His brow furrowed. "Erm, Kallisto?" He asked, nodding towards the floating stones. "What... are those? Are they speaking?"

Kallisto turned as both her Abberations swung around to hover before her but look behind, frowning slightly. They would only do that if someone was behind her.... and there was! "Abacus!~ I was beginning to wonder where you might be." Laughing, she strode towards the Zero.
"What...?" She glanced back at the Abberations as they trailed behind her and grinned as though she'd forgotten they were there, "That's Jadeite and Opal! They're abberations - the living embodiment of whatever stone they represent. I really rather like them, they're obedient, energetic, and have special spells that no Empyrean or other being possesses." Nodding, she held her hand out for the two to settle near and they did so gracefully.
"Yeah, they were talking. I have no idea what they were saying as their language is entirely different from ours. Neat, huh?"

"Ahaha, er, I got a little caught up in warming up," he replied with a grin, shrugging. "But hey, at least I made it! Thank you for taking up on my challenge, by the way -- I learned some new techniques I'm eager to try out."
"Ooh?" Abacus tilted his head to one side, watching them. "So that's what they are! What kind of special spells? Do they understand us? Is there a special requirement for the stone they need to be apart of?"

"So thaaaat's what you were doing." She laughed, nodding with approval, "Really? I'm curious to see! I'm not holding back this time, just so you know." Winking, she smiled broadly.
"Jadeite there... she enables her master to remain youthful and young-looking as long as she is possessed as well as is a saving grace - lessening powerful blows so that they won't strike you down instantly. And Opal is really very interesting. When she uses her special ability, it increases your ability to fight in the sense that it takes far more damage to make you fall." She nodded, "They understand us, yes, otherwise they would be able to take orders right? Special requirement? What do you mean?" She blinked at Abacus, not understanding what he was asking.

"Well, before that I was sleeping," Abacus replied with a grin. "Professor Abrid's shots are pretty bright, so I figured I'd get rid of any lingering caster shot effects with a nap." At her warning, Abacus brightened up. "Oh! Really? Does this mean I'll get to see some moves that you haven't shown me yet?" He asked eagerly, "I'd love to see!" Death wish, anyone?
"Whoa," he replied, looking from one abberation to the other in turn as they were introduced. "So if you used them both, would their spells cancel out and you'd take normal damage? Or are you allowed to use only one at once?"
He blinked back, then grinned, "Sorry, I got a bit ahead of myself. I meant, does there have to be something special about the stone for it to become an abberation? Or are there certain stones and certain people that can create them? And, er, I just realized that I'm holding up our duel. Sorry! They're just so... intriguing."

"Possibly!~ Depends on what you do, though." She winked, alluding to her lecture last time on being adaptable to situations.
"Nope, both of their abilities would be active. There's no limit to how many you can own or have out with you during a duel. Sometimes less is more, though. They're hearty creatures but if they break... they're gone forever."
She pursed her lips and shook her head, "Create them? Not at all. They're unique. Like I said, they embody the spirit of their gem - they're one of a kind and have to be found. The Apothecary has a goodly selection of them if you ever wish to have one as a familiar, they're good company." Kallisto chuckled once more, "Don't worry about it! I take it want to start now?"

Abacus laughed in reply, "All right! I'll take that as a challenge, then."
He nodded in understanding, "I see! So they're a bit like us... but in stone form. Or like any other living creature, really," he corrected, "I take it that they can fit into technorings, and thus be whisked out of harm's way quickly or...?"
"Oh! I see, I'll have to go there sometime and take a look," he replied cheerfully, "They've got my curiosity, and I think I'd like to have one." He grinned, then shrugged, "Well, since this is a rematch-duel... I'm game to start if you are, though I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to put Jadeite and Opal away. If I manage to get one, though, I'd be interested in another duel or spar with one of them in order to see how they work their magic."

Kallisto laughed, "Oh, don't worry. They won't be joining. I just wanted to show you - they're my favourite type of familiar....." She leaned towards him and whispered loudly, "Though don't tell Cecil that, he'll has his nose in a twist for a week."
She backed up and fell into Musubi-dachi, stance that allowed for movement and readiness. "Well? Come on then! You'll win a potion if you defeat me." Familiarity fell away and her fighter's spirit shone through as she spoke.

Abacus laughed, nodding. "Sure thing. I've a mind to find a Bael myself... Perhaps there's an abberation that could help me with that? Hmm, I'll need to definitely go check out the Apothecary."
"Oh? An incentive! You're on, Kallisto!" He replied, backing up and -- oh, wow! That was something new! He'd have to ask her about that. He began to circle to one side, then threw a punch at her.

Kallisto watched and swept her arm up and around, in Uchiuke, aiming to block and then turn his momentum against him. Which she did, pulling him in an attempt to grapple and then throwing him all in one swift motion. "Tactics, Abacus." Grinning, she backed up and nodded, allowing him time to recuperate.

"AGGHH!" Abacus yelled as he was grabbed. That... was pretty much all he had time for, considering his current condition. But providing he somehow broke free, he would feint to one side and kick out.
But ah! Hello ground. "Oof!" He gasped, shaking his head to clear it before feinting -- or more like running forward -- and throwing another punch.

Falling back into Musubi-dachi, Kallisto waited for Abacus to approach and eyed that kick, trying to block with Gedanburai then following up with Nukite.
However, confidence got the best of her and she was far from being a master at the art. A little sloppy, her form wasn't perfect and left her open for attack. She blocked just in time though but the position was a little awkward for her to try Nukite which resulted in a miss. She'd summoned Essence into her arm, though, and that formed a glowing aura of bright orange-red. Had that landed it would have likely hurt.

Kallisto laughed, turning as he leaped into the air to block his attack, taking the pain in step. "Nukite~ Essence." She didn't say much more, however, as she stopped suddenly, apparently focusing, and then spun on a dime, throwing one of her deadly kicks his way. As she moved, she let out a loud kiai as well, knowing it had stunned the zero last time they had fought.
