That's right folks! Brought to you by the multi-personality inhabited Agito!
Let's see for my first subject I will start with one of my personal favorites. FLCL A.K.A Fooly Cooly ( it has some other names but these are it's main identifiers.)
In a nutshell this anime/manga is one big warped version of puberty. They add in some plot and make a bit of a story but in the end this was mainly just an experimental piece. All of this greatly helps to make it so good though. It's a short six episodes with action, comedy, and the common innuendo. They gave it a very rocker-ish style, with the Rickenbacker 4003 bass guitar and the youthful naivety yet rebellious nature of the main character, Naota. One particular that I liked about it was how they would tend to switch illustration of the anime. Sometimes they would change the art or in one particular episode(01) they used manga scrolling format. Also the fact that they were able incorporated a sci-fi label on it while still keeping it in a fantasy like atmosphere really got me. They added in so many elements to it that I personally couldn't help but fall in love with it. They had quite an array of anime cliche's that were slipped in that I would almost call this anime a fan service.
Anyways, my personal opinion, I give it a 10 out of 10. Group rating is a 5 out of 10
If you are ADD or looking for a great distraction watch this. If you want something serious, then Tonzura koite! Excel fans better get that reference...

Loveless
Format: Manga (origionally, the first part of the series was turned into an anime) Volumes: 7 released in English, 8th released in November --- 3 volumes with 4 eppisodes each of anime.
Summary: The basis of this manga is that the main character Ritsuka lives with his abusive mother. His brother, Seimei, is understood to be dead. After Seimei's death, something happened to Ritsuka & he can no longer remember who he was before that. He creates new memories with the people he meets & wishes he could remember his past & be who his mother wants him to be. In Seimei's will, he willed his "Fighter Unit" Soubi to Ritsuka. Also, Soubi was ordered by Seimei to love Ritsuka. When Soubi meets Ritsuka, Ritsuka and him get along well, and Ritsuka can't seem to get Soubi out of his mind. Ritsuka finds out about the whole Fighter Unit/Sacrifice thing when another set of Fighter Unit/Sacrifice challenges him & Soubi to a battle of words. (Word Spells). The rest of the series develops on Ritsuka finding out more of what it is to be a Sacrifice, the purpose behind the challenges, relationships with other characters his age & older, and finding out more about his brother.
Generally known about the manga: It's considered Yaoi (nothing more than guy's kissing happens in it --- at least so far)... And the particular relationship it focuses on is Soubi (a college student) being in love (even if it was ordered) with Rituska who is only 12 years old.
My personal rating of this series was a 10 out of 10, of course.. it's also my favorite series. I think many people will like it also, even my bf likes it. It's more of a serious manga. The whole jailbait type thing might bring down the rating for other people. It just depends on your taste. (To let you know: though it's obvious of feelings, it doesn't come off as a really bad older person with an underage person type thing)
I reccomend this to anyone who likes Yaoi, that is willing to sit and learn about something thats a bit different and experience relationships in the process. Also, someone that has patience. (I'm ready to kill because I've been waiting over a year for the next volume of it to be released >.<)

This wouldn't happen to have any connection to the Loveless in the Final Fantasy 7 series would it?
I will have to check this out. Regardless of being connected or not it does sound interesting in the least.

Indeed, and I have now been told numerous times to read/watch FLCL, so I'll have to get on top of that... isn't Abenobashi Magical Shopping Arcade (or whatever it's called) made by the same people???

Indeed. Um... some of the people who worked on FLCL also had a hand in Abenobashi but it was only maybe a handful of individuals. I think the guitarist of the Pillows(band that did all the music for FLCL) had played a somewhat larger role in abenobashi but I can't say for sure.

Burst Angel
In a crime-ridden future Japan, Kyohei Tachibana is a peaceful student at a culinary school, dreaming of going to France for advanced study as a patissier (pastry chef). To afford the trip, he accepts a part-time job as private cook to a strange group of women - Sei, Meg, Jo and Amy. To Kyohei's astonishment, they turn out to be a band of violent mercenaries, and he finds himself in the line of fire.
That was Anime News Networks summary word for word. Now I can't say all of that isn't entirely true but it's not exactly. This anime has a few different labels that I can stick to it. Which by the way, I am coming up with little "stamps" for each label so I can just throw those down instead of write out extraneously long explanations. But for now words will do. This anime contains: Mecha Fan Service Gun Bunnies Western cliche's and one of my all time favorite voice actresses Monica Rial.
Now from the summary above it makes it out like the main character of the story is Kyohei (Greg Ayres) and the first few episodes help to further indulge this misconception but it is in fact Jo (Monica Rial) that is this stories main Heroine. Don't get me wrong Kyo plays an important plot role in the anime but the truth is that he doesn't ever really do much. By the end of the series we are given hope for a sequel with a new main character. It's a total of 24 episodes(theres a movie but I've yet to see it.) It's overall rating was a 7/10 though I give it an 8/10.
It's a bit more serious of an anime so if you can't sit still I you should play pong, if you want something serious but not too deep this is up your alley. heart

But I am trying to find this stuff, so it's not a complete waste... emo Well thank you but it's been more than a couple of weeks, I'm keeping it going simply because I plan on coming into the guild one day with a butt-load of minions and just start handing out free CPR left and right! And I am happy that you are looking into them. I hope my reviews have helped. heart

Heh. The irony of it all is... I still don't have any of them. xDDD It's not that I'm not trying, it's more that I prefer paper... and I can't watch stuff on this computer (yet) so my choices are somewhat limited... I COULD read online and COULD watch at the library, but it's not the same.G Give me time, new computer on Saturday (or Sunday) of next week. Read 'em all, watch what I can. xD

I usually order from Rightstuf if I can't find what I want from stores (entire x-mas list is coming from there *laughs) They seem pretty dependable, since we do get our stuff in an orderly fashion *laughs* and their bargin bins are wonderful *'CHEAP' stamped on forehead*

It is easy to kill someone with a slash of a sword. It is hard to be impossible for others to cut down. I think I shall pick this up.......I have a couple hundred manga reviews to give.
