Obi was laying around the Pridelands. This was his home and he didn't have any intention of ever leaving. He loved the lands and everything that came with them. This was his home and he was loyal.
He had been hunting earlier and so he found this time to just rest and relax. He was near the borders kind of keeping an eye out for any strange lions. Not that it really bothered him if there were others about or not. Most were welcome in these lands but it was always nice to meet strangers, even if you are tired.
He flicked his tail as some flies tried to attack him. The flies were from hell. He was sure of it. The evil things were brought to life to annoy all living creatures and so in his mind he made up a little story about how the flies started a war with the rest of the world and slowly he drifted off to sleep.

Golden eyes warily watched from a far at a seen with that black lion hunting. The rugged looking lioness wanted to snack on the meal the other had just caught, but she had seen this area before. A whole bunch of lions lived here, and whether they were friendly or not, Ruya didn't know. Instead, she would wait like a scavenger for the male to leave before she could begin to pick.
But the male never left. He moved a few feet away from the dead carcass but that was it. Huffing, the female inched closer, watching the eyes of the darker male slowly droop. Aha, she was in luck! He was tired! When he fell asleep she would move!
And that the other did. Ru moved slowly, trying to make the least noise as possible as she moved towards the dead body. Stepping past the male, her tail accidently rubbed over him, but she did not notice. All she wanted was something to eat!

His eyes opened suddenly thinking another fly was trying to attack him but instead saw a female eating the rest of his meal. He didn't mind in the slightest and so he just watched her while she ate.
When he thought she had eaten at least a little he decided he might as well say hello. He hadn't seen the female before and as she had crept past him he assumed she wasn't part of the pride either.
"Hello there." He spoke softly as he always did. He wasn't a harsh lion at all and wouldn't hurt a fly! Well, actually he could hurt flies all day long but that wasn't the point.

The lioness stiffened at the hello, ready to bolt if she needed. She did not turn around, however. She licked her maw, cleaning the blood off that began to dry on the gray pelt. It was only after a while that golden eyes turned slowly, staring straight at the black lion. "Hello." She said softly, her tone equal to the males. "I..I didn't mean to intrude on your lands!" That's the one thing she needed, to get attacked by this guy. But if was going to do that, wouldn't he have done it already? Ru relaxed slightly, but not giving up her guard completely.

"They aren't my lands, at least I wasn't kind last time I checked." He chuckled a little and sat up yawning a little.
She was polite it seemed as she was sincerely sorry about being on strange lands at least thats what Obi thought. He liked to meet new creatures. Whether they were strangers to the lands or not.
"I am Obidiah, you can call me Obi though if you want. Whats your name?" He asked softly. He was a calm creature there was no doubt about that!

She smiled slightly at his joke, before sitting down near the carcass. "Obidiah?" She had never heard that kind of name before. "What's it mean?" Afterwards, her ears perked forward at him asking her name. "My name is.." she hesistated. Was it a good idea to speak her name to another? What oculd she lose? She was a rogue anyways. "My name is Ruya'ao Jinamizi." It was a long name given to her by her mother. "Ruya, or just Ru, is what others call me though."

What did his name mean? "I don't know what it means to be honest. I haven't ever asked." It was an interesting thing to think about though. It could be worth trying to find out what it meant. Well he had something to ask his mother now.
"Wow you have a long name, do you know what it means?" He would called her Ru or something though. Her name must be the longest name he had ever come across! What a strange name. He wondered if many lions had really long names they just shortened.

Ru nodded. "Oh, that's okay." It wasn't that important. "But it's a nice name" she smiled.
"Yeah.. my mother gave it to me. I don't know why it's so long, hence why I shorterend it." She grinned. At his next question though, she faultered. She knew what her name meant. Visions of nightmares. But should she tell the other? Her mother gave her the name, but why was it so...gloomy? She frowned. "No," she lied. "I don't." A little lie couldn't hurt.

"Fair enough, I guess it's not something a lot of people would know!" At least he didn't think very many would know what their names meant, then again maybe they did. He didn't know it wasn't really anything he thought about. Names didn't mean much to him.
"So where do you come from? I am assuming your not from around here." Might as well find out where she is from anyway! He did like meeting strangers and he loved hearing about all these strange places that they came from. One day he might visit them but he loved his home and so he would always stay here!

The female lioness nodded slightly. She felt a little guilty for not speaking the truth, but in all matters, she probably would never see this male again. Oh well, just continue this little meeting and she can be on her way! That's how things work, right? Ru could only hope.
"I come from...the south, I guess you could say." She was a rogue. She knew her mother, where she was she hadn't a clue, if she was even alive or not. It had been so long. Her father, yeah, she didn't know him either. "No where in particular. Is it that obvious I am not from around here?" She gave a small smirk. Rugged fur, messy hair, and stealing someone else's meal instead of hunting on her own. Yeah, I would say it was obvious.

"You should stay here for a while and rest a little. The lands are always getting newcommers resting for a while before moving on. We are a friendly bunch." He smiled softly at her hoping she would stay for a little while. He really would like to get to know her a little.
"Also there is a lot to eat and we could maybe hunt together sometime?" Was he trying too hard? Oh who knows, he wasn't that bothered though. He really wanted to just get to know her and make a nice new friend!

"Oh, I really couldn't impose on this land." She sighed, flicking her tail nonchantly. "I mean, as tempting as it sounds, I just really couldn't..." She sighed again. Ru was a sweet lioness, but this wasn't something she was too keen on doing. When the male mentioned food, she gonked. Man, this offer WAS tempting. And hunting, oh how she loved to hunt. It was in her lioness blood.
"Maybe /you/ should come to the rogue lands?" She joked, grinning like a cheshire cat. "I could show you the ropes out there?" She laughed, jokingly of course.

Obi laughed a little. Oh it was tempting to go into the rogue lands but he didn't believe himself capable of living away from the safety of his pride yet. He knew though that she was only joking. Shame.
"Thats a shame. Would have been nice to have shown the lands!" He really did mean that. Did this mean she was leaving now because he really didn't want her to!

She nodded. "Maybe some otherday I can take you up on that offer." The other day was probably not in the near future however. When it was time she thought to go, she usually went miles and miles away before any thoughts about ever returning. And when she did return, usually others didn't remember her.
"So," her nails dug into the soft dirt below, "How many are in this pride? I've heard stories, but never actually seen in person."

He just nodded, sad that she wouldn't stay.
"There are too many to count here. It's why many don't notice when you are a rogue or a member." He smiled somewhat wondering if that would change her mind at all, otherwise she may just leave. Which would sadden him.
"Which is why you should stay."
