Chocolate had always been large for his kind, muscular from years of hunting, traveling, surviving in the world alone. He longed for a ray of light in a world he saw only as a dangerous adversary to be survived. He had friends once, but each had died young, before their time. Now the dark coated male was on the verge of paranoia, not jumpy simply looking at things as if they might be the next challenge.
A river became a foe ready to drag him down into it's depths, packs became enemies trying to run him off or lure him in, mountains were placed in his path to make him stagger or tumble along their steep paths. Everyday he saw himself as the victor of the worlds puzzles. How long could he go on winning, what was left to even try to win for?
He sighed and sniffed around, these lands were new to him. His thick coat was too heavy and hot for this territory, he had been born in the mountains where snow prevailed, so long were his travels, now he was always warm. His nose twitched, he was near pack lands, several packs.

The brightly hued female, colored of oranges, had run off from home again..Never liking to be in one place. She had always been the dependent one growing up..But her brothers had pretty much turned against themselves, and only Idogbe was left to comfort her..
Tempeste had fallen off a cliff..and her sister Tsunami was quiet and socially inept. Incapable of keeping a conversation going.
Shezaam needed interaction..And her father didnt count.
She flicked her pillowy tail, and the orange swirls along her body glistened with sweat. It was a warm day today.. And she had only just started ariving to this little river that was sweeping through.
But thank god for small favors..She hadmade it.
She leapt to the waters edge, and drank greedily.
Though gracefully.
Her emerald orbs never looking up around her.

Chocolate had followed his nose to water and frowned as he spotted a younger female gulping down the cool liquid like there was no tomorrow. She was upwind, but he doubted she would have noticed him anyway. He grumbled softly to himself, he disliked the company of others and if his nose didn't deceive him she was a member of one of the nearby packs.
Still he was thirsty as well, he moved closer to get to the waters edge and bent his head to drink quietly lapping at the water with such tenderness that he barely created any ripples. His dark syrup colored eyes were reflected back at him until they wandered to one side. She was bright incredibly so, his heart warmed a bit before he frowned and returned his gaze to the water.
He made to attempt to start a conversation.

Shezaam hadnt noticed the bigger wolf approach, but when she did, she lifted her head, and perked her ears, much like a deer would.
Her ears never went back..She didnt really fear anything. She knew that life brought death.and if she lived in fear, she wasnt living.
But she was a spoiled little girl, being the youngest daughter of a doting father and a crazy mother. They were good parents..for all their faults. She loved them.
"Hello!"
She called, wagging her tail slightly, letting it waft through the air.
He was definately larger than her, this male..But he didnt seem to be intimidating..In fact, he was quite a handsome fellow.
She caught herself blushing.
Oh what would father say?
She waited for him to come closer..She may not fear.but she would never walk blindly to a stranger.She was not naieve.

Oh great just what I need some friendly little... Chocolate felt his tongue stick to the roof of his mouth. His throat constricted a few times as he looked up at her, she was even brighter then before. Her eyes were a vivid green more startling then the lush forest. Tree were covered in white where he lived, everything was either white, brown, or black. He bit back his awe and growled softly.
"Hello princess..." He muttered, his tone wasn't angry, just frustrated, grumpy. He bit at his tongue when he realized he had called her princess. He couldn't help it, her soft sweet voice, the gently waving tail, and her brightness. She was more like a sun queen, but not yet a queen...His eyes scanned her slender form, no not yet a queen. She was too young for the direction his imagination was taking so he fluffed the thoughts away.
"What are you doing away from your pack anyway?" He growled out softly, he didn't like the idea of her being exposed to the cruelties of the world.

She watched his dark look, and her heart beat faster. He seemed to fill the bad-boy role in her mind. He was attractive, though older than her by many seasons.
"Princess?"
She asked, cocking her head and perking her ears.She had never been called princess by anyone but her father before..Though it felt really good to hear it from this male..She wasnt sure why.
Though he did seem upset at having to say it..So maybe he was just being polite..Or even making fun of her. But she didnt care really, she just liked meeting new wolves.
"My pack bores me as of late. I like the fresh air of thie open forest. The dens are a bit stuffy midday."
She said with a nod.
Which was partially true..The other reason she was away from her family was that her family had been going through alot of turmoil.
Since Tempests death, her mother and father had continuely grieved. Hurricane and Tornado, those two were incapable of carrying an intelligent thought in their skulls.
But mother...Mother thought her to be excessively cute. She didnt see anything beyond the pelt of orange and the cheery smile. She saw weakness..Shezaam was a failure to her mother, and Shezaam had needed the time away.

"You shouldn't take such a risk, your young and alone, a pack wolf, a fine prize for any malintentioned wolf." He ground out his tone coming off a bit harsher then he had expected. It bothered him to think of any such ill intentioned wolf getting near the bright little thing. His ears fell back and he frowned a bit, he had to understand she felt...suffocated in her pack. Hadn't he felt suffocated too? Not because of a pack, but from loneliness.
"I'm sorry princess..didn't mean to snap at you. It's just not such a safe world." He sighed softly and made an effort to move a bit closer to her. He had to be careful, he wouldn't admire her too long, that led to a road of friendship and that would be lost and he would suffer again. He had to keep the cruel world at bay, and he would do it tooth and claw.

He had a point, there were things to fear in this forest..But she had never really had that fear, she had always just wanted to get away from her family.
Her father wasnt that bad..She loved him dearly, and Idogbe was her best friend..But her other brothers and sister were devilishly odd, and she couldnt help but find them the slightest bit.. scary.
"Ah,I am no prize, dear-."
She stopped abruptly, looking sheepish, and her mouth forming an 'O'.
"Oh Im so sorry! Im so rude. My name's Shezaam. Im the daughter of Wazaam and Twist of the Aqua Azul pack."
She offered up the title willingly, as she liked the way it rolled off her tongue. And with a wild grin, she wagged her tail some more.
"You couldn't frighten me with words..Im too much of a fighter for that, sir."
She said giggling.

He frowned as she introduced herself, a name meant she was real, as real as he was. He didn't want to think of her sparkling eyes or bright coat and place a name to them. He didn't want to think somewhere out there she lived and breathed the same air as him. Yet the thought of such a bright life being smothered, the thought of not sharing air with a creature so opposite him was more then upsetting.
He let out a soft growl before biting it back and watching her with uncertain eyes. "Yes...forgive me, my name is Chocolate."
His tongue caressed his name giving it a soft accent that was absent in his other words.
"Shezaam..." He murmured softly before growling trying to erase the name from his mind, how sweet it tasted coming off his tongue. "I don't mean to frighten you, only that you should have a healthy dose of caution."

He seemed to be doing his best not to run from her..Or to talk to her, and she couldnt help but c**k her head.
"Chocolate, I like that name."
She said with a smile and a nod.
"Though, Chocolate, I must ask.. I seem to make you nervous. Is everything okay?"
She asked, cocking her head and walking closer to him.
She stopped a few feet away from him, anddropped to her haunches.
"Im sorry if Im bothering you.. But I appreciate your advice. It is dangerous, but fear is something that can't holdyou back..Ya know?"

He trembled slightly at her proximity and did his best not to bolt, she was brighter the closer she got, her voice made his ears perk eager for more. She made his whole body, receptive, ready, eager for interaction. She made him miss the company of others, made him feel more alone then ever.
He growled softly "Sometimes it's best to hold back!" He frowned and backed up a bit. "Forgive me...I didn't mean to snap at you princess." He sighed and moved closer despite his much larger frame he lowered his muzzle between his paws crouching down to her level.
"I am sorry..." Why was it so difficult? Was he so lonely? No, he knew it wasn't just him, other wolves company did not fluster him so. It was her with her bright and friendly personality, a bright little princess...someday a Queen who would need protection from a cruel world.

She jumped back,obviously alarmed by the wolf in front of her when he moved back so quickly.
She hadnt stepped that close had she?
"Im sorry Chocolate! I didnt mean to scare you!"
She said, now standing, and lowering her own head with confused eyes.
"I can go if you want."
She said with a sigh.
She had really liked this wolf. He was attractive, intelligent..
If only she was older..
Which..She didnt see as a problem, since any day she would be ready for mating.
"I dont want to, but I can."

His large frame shook for a long moment before finally the laughter escaped him, a rich booming sound that carried in the air. He hadn't laughed in so very long, it felt...good.
"No, no, no princess...you didn't scare me, it's alright." He sighed and composed himself once more. Now he was a bit afraid though, what power she had to stir forgotten and repressed emotions within him.
"Stay, you were here first." He offered her a wry smile and lightly touched his nose to her cheek. With a soft inhale he slowly moved to sit back, she smelled as sweet as she looked and sounded.

Shezaam smiled, and her tail began to thump thump thump against the ground, and she stood, bounding over to him, licking his cheek.
She was happy she had not offended him, and normally, this is how she would potray her happiness with her pack.
He was not her pack, yet she viewed him as her friend, so the action was natural and unplanned.
She smiled, tail still wagging as she pulled away, oblivious to the fact that she might have completely embarrassed him.
"I like that word..Princess.."
She said with a giggle.
"But Chocolate I am no princess, I am merely pack fodder."
She said with a wink.

Chocolate felt a warmth spread through his limbs, he hadn't realized how numb they had felt until now. He shook his head and huffed softly, what a problem, he liked her company more then he should. Slowly he stood wanting to leave her in peace, and attempt to thrust her brightness from his mind.
He twisted and tipped his head "Well...you do seem like quite the little princess. Soon to be queen no doubt." He chuckled softly.
His good humor turned black suddenly and his ears pinned back as a furious snarl escaped him. He leapt over and growled down at her. "Do NOT ever say that again! You are NOT fodder for ANY pack or ANYONE!"
