I really don't know what to say. In one aspect he's a genius for realizing the limitations of man based on the social and physical aspects. But in another he is a fool for believing that man can be limited by what is and isn't. I believe it illistrates the paradox of humanity: being more than we are while only being able to be what is.

That's what is so great about it that paradox...he see's the greatness that is in one's mind, but also see's the hinderance of the world itself. While every artist attempts to achieve that greatness...that, utter completeness that every artist longs for...For as an artist I know that emptiness that is the gap between my spirits artistic talent and my hands. Never shall they be as one.

But...how are we supposed to exceed our potential if we're limited as humans are?
To put it into perspective (I think), I'll use computers. If a computer doesn't work at the pace we need it to, we either replace components, or overclock the machine. How does that work with humans? How can we overclock ourselves?

If a computer doesn't work at the pace we need it to, we either replace components, or overclock the machine. How does that work with humans? How can we overclock ourselves? You either offer something they want... blackmail them... or you somehow just find the inspiration and potential. It's possible... it's just that there is that thing called "doubt" in everyone. The problem isn't that it's there... it's just that one needs to figure out how to either ignore it, or overcome it. 3nodding

well yea, most of you guys are mostly right. When i wrote this, the point was to show two things: 1) to show the struggle and barrier every artist faces when he tries to create. and 2) to show that, through such struggles and sacrifices, the artist may overcome his limitations and touch every soul, from present to future, and change the world of the "real" around him to the "abstract" world in his mind. Overall this was a piece to show the paradox of being an artist- one side being the limitations and hinderances, but the other side showing the enormous impact each artist has to the world around him. I hope it was somewhat interesting to you, and good job pulling it apart! biggrin

I'm propbably a little off topic, but the first post just made me remember; i can't remember who said and acient greek though. The views of the gods are always changing because people are allways changing. Same applys for art, ethics and poltics.
Damn i got to go I'll come back and fnish this post soon
