What do like and not like? Well like I already stated in the manga forum I download most of my anime, so the stuff I watch is really current in Japan and either people in American HAVEN"T heard about it or I've already seen the completed series and they're just now getting into it.
As far as genre with anime . . . I'm not really too sure. In manga I DEFFIANTLY like shoujo fantasy/comedy/romance/action. Really anything aimed at girls that's fantasy (now that's all shoujo fantasy but the majority of my collection . . . yeah that's what it consist of). But with anime? Most shoujo anime is . . . magical girlish? made for younger viewers? Some reason they really haven't been making (good and decent) shoujo fantasys lately. eek sweatdrop
All the stuff I'm currently watching . . . I like to call them unisex animes because to me it appeals to both girls and guys. You know rather than labeling it as shonen or shoujo. (I'm rambling aren't I?) Actually in truth I think they're all really shonen . . . sweatdrop
Stuff I'm currently watching: Gundam SEED Destiny Bleach Infinite Ryvius Last Exile Rahxephon Soukyuu no Fafner (Fafner in the Azure . . . or something like that) Gankutstuou Kyou Kara Maou (or Maoh)
Favorite animes (series I've completed watching): DNAngel Gundam SEED Fullmetal Alchemist Fruits Basket Getbackers R.O.D. TV series and OVA
The genre I stay most away from is . . . well I like Fantasy and Sci Fi so I don't really look into just like school romances, horror, fighting for sure, anything to fan sercive-ee, hardcore mech animes, anything too kiddish, and so on so on. Not saying I hate those type of animes but usually I just can't get into them. sweatdrop
Anyways long post . . . I'm done now. sweatdrop whee

You're right, Masquanade, I haven't heard of most of those. biggrin But again, I'm not an Anime person. Too expensive, and video stores aren't too good about keeping a good supply of Anime handy (though there is a pretty good store here where I live). And the adult swim anime is pretty bleh. I remember liking a mini series they had on adult swim called Blue Submarine 6, this was probably 3 or 4 years ago, it had a high production and a pretty interesting story. This was when the only anime on adult swim was Dragonball and Gundam, so anything new looked pretty good.
I'm a big fan of Miyazaki films (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke) and I rented this movie called "Tokyo Godfathers" that I haven;t watched yet. I should try to watch Anime, it would probably only help my sad japanese listening and speaking skills.

There was this one anime I watched, it was with english subtitles and in japanese, excellent for perfecting pronunciation. It was called One Piece and I realised it's pretty popular. I find the characters so cute!! Its a story about a pirate named Luffy that once ate a "devil fruit" that turned him into a rubber man, and he can't swim. His dream is to follow the Pirate Kings steps, and set sail to Grand Line, and find the kings treasure. I've only watched up to episode 120.

Hey, kids, calm down, we can agree that both Canada and America are awesome, can't we? America's home to great things, like the Grand Canyon, George Washington, and Nascar, and Canada has curling and Alanis Morissette, and Mounties! Come on, Mounties are hot.

I never said Canada sucked nor did I said I didn't like it. I like canada. I have two really close Canadian friends (who live in Canada). I was just stating I don't think America sucks and I really love where I live. 3nodding

The only anime I will watch, basically, is Slayers TV, NEXT, and TRY. Wolfs Rain I have just started, and I'm not totally 'OMG' about it (probably because I have 11-14 and have never watched, or heard the plot ever before) so I will idly get it.
I'm more of a Manga person, anyway.

I refuse to watch anime in english, because they torture it! I was watching Mononoke Hime in English with my boyfriend, and we had put up the english subtitles, too, just so I could compare. Unbelievable difference. I wanted to cry. crying
Anyway, the anime I love and watch when I can are: Sailor Moon (hey, it was my first!) Ranma 1/2 Evangelion Gundam Wing (yaoi!) Gravitation!!! anything by Miyazaki Grave of the Fireflies (I cried!)
and... um... If there's anything else, I've forgotten it.
I DON'T like: OLD anime, with 80's animation. I like pretty things. 80's animation is not pretty. xp DBZ... I got tired of it after a while.
That's all!

I tend to agree that the American dub does tend to slotter the anime. they just change to much to.....for example Sister Princes....13 sisters...and some of which had French accents and Swedish accents....uh....helllllloo >_< makes for a very odd show. the American voices also tend not to match up with the characters that well. although some actors do a good job matching a character to their voice, some... you sit watching the anime thinking "what was the director thinking while picking _____ to do _____'s voice???!!" im sure youve done that once or twice in your anime watching history. nya. but alass that never stops me from watching it in English. no to get me wrong, i love anime in Japanese, its a great tool to help on pronucation skills and stuff, but tiss a pain to read the subtitles sometimes. specially when your tired. haha ^^;;; any enough on my views on voice actors...some anime/mangas i like are: +Nurse Witch Komugi Chan +Cardcaptor Sakura +Get Backers +Soul Hunter +Soul Taker +Azumanga Daioh +Gravitaion +Fake +Juvanile Orion +Digimon +Yugioh ....ect Some anime/mangas a i dont like are: -Tokyo Mew Mew -Cyborg 009 -Inuyahsa (too popular, although i still somewhat like it, tiss not one of my favorites) -anything where the main character takes all the credit for everything...like Ichigo in Tokyo Mew Mew...everthing revolves around her and shes always the one to kill the bab guy n the one with all the neat powers n stuff...i hate that >_< -DBZ ...ect O_O;;;;;.........hmn rather pointless stuff eh?? o well.... Neko Saku
