Ao I was rewatching the finale, as I'm sure many of you did too, when I really looked at what the summary said.
It didn't say series finale.
It didn't even say season finale.
It just said 'New'
Hope!!!
Yeesh, I feel like Katara from the play...lol!
But seriously, we still got a chance, we still have book four, Air. And despite the gag-inducing kisses and hugs, there's still a small chance that we might see some very joyous hugs and kisses and who knows, Mai might go spring Azula from jail or something. Ya never know, but lets hope, ne?

Katessa actually said that it was a little odd for them to leave that scene with Zuko and Ozai about Ursa open to interpretation. I mean, they might bring the gang back when they're older (and maybe with a rating for actual teenagers. stare ) and Kataang and Maiko could not have worked out as everyone thought it would have.
Katessa and her boyfriend laughed at me, more so then they did the actual program. I was pissed off at how stupid the whole thing was. "Everyone will be happy" my a**, Mike and Bryan! scream stare
I hope someone, if not a grand majority of the crowd, boo's them come SDCC, seriously, leaving all those signs there for Zutara just to bait people? It's a new all time low. But, now, I'm finished with Avatar, I don't even feel the same about Zutara let alone the series. It's just all wrecked and I can't even look at it anymore. Which, is really sad, since I've NEVER done this for any animated series in my life.
I mean, really! Who would you rather have made happy, a bunch of 15 and under kids, who still have to ask "Mommy and Daddy" to buy them something, which the answer will most likely be "no?" Or, a group of teenagers, who're 17 and older, who actually HAVE their own money and can buy all the ATLA merchandise they want and not need to ask their parents for anything?! I WONDER what the SMART choice is? /sarcasm.
But for now, to Flying Ozai's Vengence. Aang and Mai are both dead, and it's completely wonderful! And, if Nike and Bryan feed us that utter bull s**t that they couldn't have thought of a way to Add Zutara in, someone should freaking THROW a copy of OV or Stormbenders at them. And tell them to read that, because they will then see what a large mistake they made.
Ladies, and rare gents of the Zutara guild, there is my full out rant. And keep your fire strong. I'll still be in the guild, I just need a few days to cool down. -_-* (Will really beat some heads in Super Smash Brothers Brawl with Ike. ninja )

well, I was reading somewhere that said for ever call/letter to creators/writers represents an actual one hundred people who feel the same way.
Not only that, it might end up being something slightly Buffy-verse ish.
If you don't know what that means, it means that they may have just run out of funding (as unlikely as that is) and can't make more episodes, or a few contracts expired. In which case they may just switch over to 'manga-style' and write out book four. In which case there is a very nice chance that Zutara can happen.
and besides, Katara has to go with Zuko to find his mama, who for whatever reason I can imagine her not liking Katara...sad.

Thanks, Ai-Liang. :3 But seriously, I'm going back to my japanese anime. At least they know how to hold a shipping war and CONFIRM without the baiting who won! Makes me hate the english language a little bit. xd [I reccommend Vampire Knight, if you want a new Vampire themed story that is not as cliche as it sounds from the name. xp ]

Augh. seriously, it's not even that Zutara didn't happen. it's the fact that Aang went NO WHERE in terms of development. He didn't want to kill, so he ran away from it until the last possible moment...in which he just whipped some super-power out of his arse and called it good. There was no real buildup, foreshadowing or inclusion to the plot for spirit-bending, it just was there.
And the Avatar State? PLEASE. If all he needed was a well-placed poke in the back, why didn't we just get Toph to rough him up some!! We could have had this done back in NaDD when Toph was doing her accupuncture!
He didn't grow, he didn't let go, the entering of the AS was completely ACCIDENTAL and threw away SO much development, and not to mention the entire episode of The Guru. Why tell us he had to let go if they were just going to come back at us with a fecking loophole that solves everything?!
Aang is still possessive, childish and selfish, he ran away to the very end. He thinks love is forcing a kiss on someone even if they'd just said they were confused. Honestly, what happened to that confusion!? It never got resolved. It never got explained. She took so long and it was one-sided to the very freakin end. If I were a KAtaanger right now, I'd be asking some serious freakin questions.
I mean, honestly, letting go of Katara was Aang's last chance to redeem himself to me. But now, especially after EIP and how immature he was...I just HATE him. It's the classicly cliche'd Hero-gets the girl mold that I was hoping Avatar would avoid. But, he made no progress, and truly, the whole thing made his final "victory" with winning Katara over made it look like she was nothing more than a prize.
I don't even know if I can ship Taang anymore just because I hate Aang now. Seriously, TOKO had more in this Finale than freakin Kataang did. (that little blush on Zuko's face was adorable!) That kiss came out of nowhere and was completely underedeveloped. LIKE THE FREAKING BOOK.
I can't get into the Finale, really. the main important elements were just too skewed. Too many things got kicked to the curb. And even the Zutara moments, while wonderful, didn't get developed to their true potential, even if they only ended up as freinds. I know Mike and Bryan could have done better.

Whatever happens, Zutara will live on in fandom. We have fics, art, and all the talent in the world. We'll figure something out. =D

Zukaang had more moments then Kataang.
You'd think they'd have ended up together after a whole 2 hours were dedicated to them.
"Hey thanks for saving my life but Nick is making me be kid appropriate and cliche so I have to go with the guy who isn't mature, is way less cuter than you, and who's feelings I don't share but am forced to kiss, which will be a very depressing and confusing seen for all. See ya"
