Now, suppose someone had given you a potion/food/drink/suit/whatever that will allow you to become your fursona, BUT, it will also shift your gender, would you go through with it? This also happens to be irreversible (so no "well, sure, as long as I can go back to normal and be my old self again").

ooo. i don't like permanent changes too much so... no. if it could be like a try out period then turn back and decide then, then maybe. i have to think about what my family would feel and base my judgment on that as well. it might be harder to live that way. confused smile

I don't think I would mind temporarily changing gender if it made me into my fersona with all else intact. But I said i wouldn't want to permanently be the only furry, and I definitely wouldn't want to permanently be the opposite gender. I'm just too used to being a guy. X-P

@Necro: Sorry, no change backs or temporary switches, and the thing doesn't matter if there's other furries or not. Just if you would take the transformationing.

yeah... the permanent transformation is what gets to me. if it wasn't permanent and i could switch back and forth any time i wanted, i would definitely go for it. but since it's not like that, i guess the answer is, like i said before, no. What about you?

Yup. I would totally go for it. I'm rather girly anyways, and I'm pretty much bi-minded, so, I wouldn't go crazy or anything if I changed into a fur but had to change genders too.

It's not a bad idea and it's pretty interesting but i don't think my brain would be able to handle the hormone changes and my family would be sad that the family name wouldn't be able to be passed on. It would be hell for the people that are dealing with information papers on my person having to deal with race change as well as gender change. Haha. I would have to put F as the sex on official tests ^^. As long as those problems and social and business issues are solved, I would definitely go for it. I would feel some nostalgia for my original body but it would slowly become less of a problem. I probably would still act like a guy though and do all the things that i would've done with my original but appearances are basically everything in society since forever. (run on sentence. sweatdrop ) That fact saddens me. It's just too bad. sorry. i just had to list them. sweatdrop my mind isn't able to convey the message with calculation at the moment. 3nodding

it's good to here that some people can be open minded. there are way too many people that can't see good in anything. they always feel that anything that's different is evil or something. but its a nice idea. the topic i mean. :3

*gets on some random stage with a mic* Do you want to be furry, not inside of some thick fluffy suit, but fur actually just on top of your skin? Wouldn't you like to be able to dawn this full body fur and remove it completely at will?
From the makers of 'This fabric is way to loose to serve any valid purpose' and 'this nanotech is just waiting to improve your lives' comes the new useful material "Second Skin" tm Second Skin tm starts out as a two piece article of clothing that is really too baggy. But with a push of a microbutton it slowly shrinks on you untill it skin tight.
This material is thin and can come in many different variates. plain, colored, camo, furry, rubbery and many many more it can be used for parachutes, swimming gear, medical bandages, and air bags just to name a few. what's more, I strongly belive that such material will be quite possible withing the next 5 or so years.

Honestly, I would do it in a heartbeat... Sure my gender would change, but honestly, for the most part it wouldn't be that much of a change for me. Mentally speaking I'm already half way to being a female, and I'm bisexual so...

I had the idea from the fact I not only like to play weird questioned things (or normal questions with draw backs), but I've always seen "if you could become a furry medically, would you" stuff, but it's NEVER the same (and even IF there was a furry medical procedure, it'd cost too much and I don't believe in operations to change the body just for vanity. It's not the same like that anyways). Nothing says thinker like promising them their furry form, but having *some* kind of draw back =3
@Necro: *shakes head* Too expensive and not the same as a full body change. Even with technology, you couldn't become a sucsessful scientifically crafted anthropomorphic creature. Your product just acts as a future fursuit. What I'm talking about is FULL transformation. Body/bone structure (as your nano suit wouldn't change the body fluidly enough to offer digigrade leggins, working tails/wings/ears, muzzles etc.). I'd rather have REAL fur then a suit, no matter how advanced. If there was a way to change myself in *some* methhood past medical (metaphysical, paranormal, occult, just *waking up* as it etc.), then it'd be nice (again, nothing wrong with medical, but I don't believe in it now and know it'd cost too much money to do so).
*scoffs at Necro* Sorry bud, you could give your suit out for free and I wouldn't take it. I'd need the real thing 100%. I'm not just a furry, I'm a Therian and a creature who hates the body I'm in, so, a body I don't like inside another suit wouldn't work. No need for two suits when I just need one *winks*

@Marcious Pharoe The idea wasn't meant to be much more than a thinner fursuit. On top of that, I think it would be quite possible to add mechanized tails,ears, wings, muzzles. that read brain impulses and operated as an extension of yourself. Granted even with the best wings our bone structure would be too dense to fly. And as far as digitigrade, yes, the suit couldn't do that for you but there are many who practice walking that way and can remain like that for a long time. I also think you're right about cost, but all new advances cost a fortune when they come out. I think with advances it might become cheapER as time goes on. anthropomorphic doesn't require digitigrade anyways, it's just means any of a number of phases between animal and human. I'm trying to come up with a possible solution, full transformation isn't anywhere near likely anytime soon.
Sorry if my response seem random and rantish, I just wanted to make sure I covered all possible replies. You're right of course, being able to turn full fur would beat any type of fursuit any day.
