Erebus eyes lit up as dusk came and night began to oversweep the Earth. He was enthralled to have another night of parading by himself. He was always a lone wolf, if it weren't for Set he probably would have. He and his brother weren't inseprable but they enjoyed each others company. He looked around as his eyes were peeled for any sort of amusement already. His electric blues glanced to the only other soquili that was around tonight whom was Kila, she was dead though...on the inside there was nothing left but emptiness. She was as hollow as a dead log and she could care less if her were out and about. He had heard good stories of her when light actually sparkled in her eye. He looked at the lifeless alicorn and made his way out of the teepee, quiet as usually. Not afraid of disturbing her, he was quiet normally. Deathly quiet, he could sneak up on anything without notice. As a basket his parents worried that he had fallen ill or died for he made no movements for the longest time. It was just his nature.

He left and he trotted off unknowing where his hooves would take him, this night. It was just like every other night. He was well aware of the dangers...it was just sad because he already could care less. Ares told him that was his greatest weakness was not fearing...he thought it was a strength. Though the foal was ignorant, he was still strong in his mind and determined. To what he was to be determined for he was still unsure. He was weary what family meant to him and he had no friends. None of them were, adequate. His ears flickered as he heard the chirping of crickets and the soft sound of tiny bird wings coming to rest for the night. Perfect, he thought.

((Sorry for the crappy start. x_x; ))

The stallion moved slowly throughout the underbrush of the woods. Step by step, he was quite often heard long before he was seen. The quiet shuffling and chinking of his thick chains sang their eerie song with every movement. Step by step, he fooled the world in to thinking he was weighted down. Oh, it was true his silver, blood-stained chains were heavy and they constantly hurt, burning in to his flesh and stinging the soul. But though they often made him weary, Shyam had fast come to learn how to work with them to his advantage. He knew how to fly, even on such tattered wings and thus he had learned how to hunt with his cursed silver.

Step-c***k. Step-c***k. Step-c***k.

Night had fallen and the stallion pushed on throughout the woods. He was headed in no particular direction, in no particular mood or mindset, and was curious to see who or what he might discover. A sliver of the stallion craved blood, creaved that rich, succulent flavor of meat against his pallet, and to feel the struggle as life slipped beneath his hooves. He wanted to hunt but the drive wasn't quite there. . . He'd wait for the proper opportunity; he'd wait for the unsuspecting to cross his path. . . .

He'd wait.

Step-c***k. Step-c***k. A scent crossed his path, fresh and very young. Small tracks, practically invisible by shadow and moonlight could be spotted and Shyam couldn't help but grin. His crimson gaze glowed with amusement and he slowly continued, following and tracing the scent of one so young. Perhaps he'd find himself a treat this eve. . . .

With luck blood would fall again soon.

[[Sokay, mine wasn't the best either. <3]]

The young colt wandered and he heard a rustling noise. His ears flicked forward to see something darting around in the darkened grass. His electric blues were peeled on it as he watched it. Carefully, like a cat he stalked it. He leaned his shoulders down in the darkness as if ready to pounce but instead he hearded the creature into a coiled position. It was a dark black snake. It hissed at him and he hissed right back. He had always had a facination with snakes. He watched his beady eyes and he teased it with his wing and it struck at him. It failed to get him though. He pranced around it, and the snake grew tired. For the snake it was a daunting task. It made several attempts to escape and be left to its own freedom but the colt was persistant and herded it again.

His eyes flashed once before the snake made its last move, it striked and made itself vulnerable. His pearly white teeth clamped down on scales and meat ripped as he shredded it, he had gotten it just below the head not to get bit. He shook his head violently and the snake head tore off eventually and made a thumping sound as it hit a nearby tree and hit the ground. Erebus watched it as his ears flickered forward and then flared back. His eyes gazed around as he heard an unfamiliar clanking noise. He dropped the snake's body and it twitched as if still alive and blood spurted out from where its severed head used to be.

A pink toungle licked the spattered blood that clinged to his lips as it began to dry. His eyes watched as he heard the sound grow closer, the feeling of it wasn't right. He knew when something, wrong walked his way and what to usually stay clear of..but today he figured he could not out run whatever creature was in the shadow.

Shyam finally found the source of the delicate hooved tracks he followed. The scent of another soquili was thick in the air, and now mingled with the faint coppery smell of blood. Crimson eyes peeked out of the shadows only to come to rest on the smallest of winged foals. A wind. . . . with glowing blue eyes and faded markings. How quaint.

He always did enjoy the winged ones; the flavor of feathers against ones palette seemed to sweeten the meal, and how delicious were they when stained and soaked with blood. Not much meat, especially on a foal, but a delectable treat nonetheless.

It came as no great shock or surprise to Shyam that the shadowed babe was a wannabe hunter. The way he had licked the blood off his lips, had destroyed the snake, caused Shyam to follow suit and lick his own. Though the snake blood was faint upon the thick, woodsy scent of the forest, it was enough to p***k Shyam's hunger and need for a swift and satisfying fix.

Step-c***k. Step-shink. Step-c***k. Followed by silence.

He let the little foal know his exact location by giving himself a little shake, sending the chains rattling and screaming out danger. Thus far the foal hadn't run, which was a bit disappointing. How could he chase if they didn't set off in fear? "Well, well, well," his voice broke through the night, similar to velvet sin. "I see I've found a future predator in the making," he mused softly, entertained by such an idea. It wasn't often non-kalona found a taste for blood. "Allow me to be the first to say happy hunting."

If Erebus weren't careful it might very well be his one and only kill.

Erebus' ears flickered as he listened intently, he the heard the creature give itself a way. It was intentional and he knew that. It wasn't soon after he was face to face with the perpatraitor. It was an angeni with dark coloring, chains and kalona. Such a mismatch was sad, even to Erebus. If he had the slightest feeling for it.

His brow rose at him, "Snakes do not have much meat, they just put up a fight." he replied with a confident voice, yet it held a softness to it. His blues watched the other male intently, his heart wasn't bent on upsetting him after he licked his chops. It gave him an uneasy ness, but Set had managed to meet with a kalona and stick by him. He found it odd, but he watched the other, waiting for him to speak. He wasn't one for talking, unless something needed to be said.

He looked away for the moment as the snakes body quit twitching and just lay still in the grass. Blood still seeped from the wound but it would soon stop as the heart had stopped pumping blood through its veins. He thought that was the most interesting part of the body, the heart. It made everything run smoothly. Well when everything was connected.

Shyam cared little about his appearance. He had no kalona in him, much to many stallions concern, and was a pure angeni through and through. It was through his curse that he had gained his twisted horns, the burning chains the stung his flesh, and the black and red stained swirls that marked him as damned. He had been beautiful once. . . .

But those days were long gone and often forgotten.

Currently his focus was only on the foal. Just gazing at the blue eyed shadowed runt his mouth began to water. The stallion felt a draw towards the tender flesh of the soquili, and he craved the taste of blood. To rip those wings with his fangs, to snap bone with his jaws and rip out the tender flesh. . . . Mmmph. He almost shuddered in delight.

And then. . . . there it was. The foal's shining moment of inviting Shyam in to his life for a very rough and blood stained future. "Ah," he breathed, his stubby, tangled tail swishing softly behind him. "So you like to fight do you?" He stepped closer to Erebus, bridging the distance between them slowly and without rush. "Snakes are nothing, you know, but an easy kill. Would you prefer a challenge, foal, or would you much rather I leave you to your baby games?"

Either way, Shyam would get his play time. Either way, Erebus was in trouble no matter what he chose to answer. Though the foal was swift if he ran, Shyam had longer legs and much more stamina. Furthermore, while Erebus was young and naive on many things in the world, Shyam was a long experienced hunter. It would end poorly for the foal. . . that much the fallen could guarantee.

Erebus was jealous of Nu'man and Set, though he knew Nu'man was still protective of him...he doubted this character would be any of the sort for him. His electric blue eyes narrowed as if he could scent the malice on him. His ears flickered, he didn't like him thought of as childish. Though he was a colt, he'd like to think of himself as more mature.

Erebus growled at him as his wings flared out angerily at him, he wasn't going to be a snack for him. He couldn't run or fly. But he wouldn't die like a coward either. Wrath flowed through his veins as he snorted at the thought.

"Easy unless their venomness," he hissed back. But he was curious and his brow rose, "What kind of challenge." he demanded. His voice was no longer soft, but harsh. "And my name is not foal."
