I like King Diamond and I want to hear more music with his kind of sound. What are some good lesser known heavy metal and speed metal bands? I know the popular ones. I just want to hear some good metal bands that like nobody knows. I'm the only guy I know who listens to all mainstream bands and nobody that's unsigned or underground.

series overkill, dyeing fetus, mayhem. thats about all i can think of series overkill is a local georgia band that i know they are amazing go check out there myspace.

For speed metal? Galneryus, Versailles, Symphony X (The first two are Japanese and symphonic, the last is progressive as well)
For any kind of metal? Symphony X, Dream Theater, Versailles, Galneryus, Cynic, Atheist, Periphery, Kamelot... that's a couple off the top of my head.
You should go check out MA. It's god.

Cause nobody knows who Metallica is at all. Completely underground. Totally unknown. ...just sayin, bro. Don't get me wrong, good band. XD But uhh, let's see... Dimmu Borgir, Symphony X, Children of Bodom, Seventh Day Slumber, Arkaea, Man Must Die, Obscura, Unearth, The Human Abstract... Some good stuff. XD

I know that 90 percent of the time when someone tries to show you a local band they suck balls XD
BUT This is an acception because I know my s**t...
You guys should check out my newest band
UNSEEN BEAST
from dallas tx just look us up on myspace or facebook you have to check out the tunes!! Some really heavy stuff... but also some really trippy circus sounding music and even ballad stuff you should give it a listen!
