Akechi stepped into the ring. He was wearing a brown bomber jacket and denim jeans. The 5'10-11 dirty-haired merc seemed almost bored as he heaved a large wooden bat over his shoulder, the end which seemed to be pierced by up to five broken-off blades, making for a deadly-looking mace.
He whistled for a bit as he waited for his opponent.

She would actually be wearing clothing this time as she climbed down into the ring from the floor above. There wasn't much clothing there, but it was more than she had been wearing in her last fight against Fox. The woman who was a full head shorter than Akechi would enter the ring wearing a slate-colored loincloth, a similarly colored strap around her chest and over her shoulder, and a thick leather and steel belt hanging rather loosely around her waist so that it was only the breadth of her hips that kept it from sliding straight to the floor. To the back of this belt there was attached a large leather sheath, in which she kept a kuru'to.
"It is my hope that this will be enjoyed."
Tekka put her hands together in front of her chest, then bowed her head to the opponent respectfully. She was ready to begin whenever he was. Her right hand would move to the handle of the kuru'to behind her right hip.

An annoyed look as he sized her up.
"... no offense, but what did you do, ******** your last opponent to death?"
So much for civilities.
Akechi started approaching the girl and let his katana-bat hang by his right side at hip level, one hand up on the handle quite high.
He'd be careful. She looked fast and extremely agile while his weapon, although intimidating, was rather unwieldy, being a modified baseball bat.
Time to test her out, see how close she was willing to let Akechi get. If she did nothing at all, Akechi'll attempt to reach in and slap her across the face from the edge of his attack length.

Tekka would not let him get close enough to take a swing at her with his katana bat before she drew the kuru'to in her right hand and held it low at her side. When Akechi came closer and started a swing, Tekka would hop back several feet past the edge of the weapon's range. Her stance would lower almost to the ground with her knees bent and her weight resting on the balls of her feet as well as her left hand which was slightly in front of her position.
She would flip the kuru'to in her hand to a conventional, upright grip on the weapon and hold it near the ground on her right side. For now she would watch her opponent's fighting style and decide later how she would attack him.Fierach Got a picture reference for the kuru'to? Distraction (3) Kuru'to - A larger knife with a triangle-shaped blade, resulting in two sharp points and two sharp edges in addition to the back of the blade which is unsharpened. Because of the 'simple weapon' rule of Bloodbath, it is not oiled.

Interesting weapon. Akechi noted. He wasted no time in following after the girl, bringing both hands to grip his weapon now as he took steps after her and sharply thrusted it at her chest, left leg forward.
Right hand near the bottom and left hand near the top of the handle, Akechi was using his modified bat like a mace.

Tekka was already low to the ground when Akechi stepped forward and thrust his weapon at her. Rather than dodging back wards again this time, the woman threw herself off to the side by rolling over her right shoulder. Quickly scrambling forwards after the roll, Tekka would raise her stance to about waist height for her opponent as she rushed forwards in an attempt to run straight past Akechi on his left side.

Since Akechi had his left side orientated toward the girl when he thrusted, by rolling and attempting to pass Akechi on his left, she'd be getting behind him.
"Nach."
So he did the only logical thing. He twisted his head and upper body to his right, exposing his back to her for a second when she rolled, bringing his bat up over his head with his right arm as he did. All the while, he bent and pivoted his feet. If she took the bait and went for his backside, she'd find the entire bat crashing down on her from overhead quite painfully.

She would easily get past him if he turned to facilitate her rush. It was an opening that she would gladly accept from him, even if it meant that she would be putting herself into a position that he was expecting because the position was an advantage to her.
Tekka stopped abruptly on her right foot just beyond Akechi's right side and swung her right arm in sharply at Akechi. The tooth on the cutting edge of the kuru'to was not just there for decoration, rather it added a second functionality to the knife. Instead of simply making slashes or stabs with the weapon's cutting edge, she could make a heavy, hacking swing with the tooth like she was striking with a hand axe or a hatchet. The end result of such an attack would cause Akechi's right thigh to be deeply split open down to the bone, and Tekka would drag the weapon's edge back out again with a hooking sweep to further widen the wound.
Blood was drawn on her end as well: the sharp blades on Akechi's katana bat slashed up Tekka's feline left ear and cut a shallow slice across her cheek. The damage might have been worse if Akechi had been attacking from the front, but because he was swinging the bat over his own head and she was low enough to be past his waist he stood a larger chance of slashing up his own back with the katana bat than he did of hitting her squarely.

Well, here was the thing, Akechi didn't have to hit her squarely. The bat, with the numerous blades stuck in it at odd angles, could easily hook into anything they struck.
And because it was coming pretty much straight down, and presumably since it had grazed the girl's ears and cheek the bat would go on to smash into whatever was near and below her head.
Which was, most likely, her left shoulder. And since the bat was top heavy, from the way Akechi was swinging it, the socketed broken blades near the tip would likely catch the back of her shoulder as well. Now, Akechi was no expert, but even he could tell what would happen if a mace-like was smashed into a shoulder.
Now, for damage control on his side. Fabric tore and intermixed with blood, it was a deep wound and his right leg buckled, but Akechi held steady for a moment, if only to deal the pain right back at the girl ten-fold first.
If his weapon had sunk into her shoulder (and he'd be able to feel the resistance at the end of the weapon), he'd first push, then pull with all his might, generously teaching her that being impaled on the bat was an extremely poor trade for crippling a leg.
If it wasn't sunk into her shoulder, Akechi'll twist his body (and his bat with him) back to his left, intent on impaling some part of her on the jagged blades.

Akechi was throwing a strike over his shoulder by raising the bat up over his head and swinging it down behind him at Tekka and because of the length of the bat [x] the very end would reach about to his waistline, which was approximately the highest point at which Tekka would reach. This was the reason that Akechi's bat would not slam into her shoulder, though it was very pointy and succeeding in cutting her somewhat as already described. Swinging hard would not gain Akechi any advantage in reach, though it would put him in danger of cutting up his back and side with the broken blades attached to his katana bat.Fierach Now, for damage control on his side. To ensure that the arm stayed incapacitated Tekka's kuru'to would chop at him again, this time aimed at the side of his arm to cut into the deltoid, bicep, and tricep muscles and prevent Akechi from swinging his katana bat any more. Like the last time, she would twist the kuru'to as she slid it out of Akechi's flesh. However this time she would press it forwards around his front side and swing the pointed tip up underneath his chin.
If this was successful Akechi would be largely incapacitated and this battle would likely be over.
If this was not successful it was likely that Tekka would not be getting far enough for a need to decide whether to slit Akechi's throat or not.

Her movement was not an offensive one but instead was entirely motivated by defense. To injure Akechi she only needed to be near enough to him to attack, but in order to prevent him from injuring her she needed to ensure that she was out of his reach in one way or another. Akechi would turn to the right to try and catch her by surprise but he would only be chasing her tail as she faded away to the left to circle Akechi as he turned and stay behind him as long as she was able to.
In addition to this she would make a downwards chop at Akechi's right leg just above the knee when she changed direction and started to circle around him. The effects of such a hacking slash were already described and this attack would be almost identical though with a little less force behind the kuru'to.
