Lady Liriel Baenre I think that each God should start out with at least one Point. So, since all of these have already been voted for, they should get +1 point(s) for their own original god-hood point. I only say this because when a new god ascends, they would get at least one point. And that wouldn't be very fair to those that have been in power for a while. Liriel, you make a good point. I've already had plans for this, though not quite the way you state it. If a god doesn't make the contest, but is registered here, it will get 1 point every time a contest is held anyhow.

Lady Liriel Baenre But they should start out with one as soon as they ascend. For if they have no divinity, then they aren't much of a god. That's the sacrifice a member must make to ascend. They have to wait for another contest just to earn their first Divine Power point, even if they aren't in the top 9 who get to be in the contest. This makes it so that the more gods there are, the harder it is to advance. Those without the stomach to hold out will find it easier just to drop back down to mortal status. It's a way to make sure gods are dedicated and doing their job, or they get replaced.

Lengna what about demi gods? How would that work? Categorically speaking, demi-gods are either gods or they are not. One can call theirself a demi-god all they want, but the real question is, can they directly interract with mortals or not? If they can interract with mortals, and lead factions and other mortal stuff, then they are not gods as we currently categorize them. If they can only influence events through Divine Power (DP) then, they are categorically considered gods. Demi-god is not so important a descriptor in this case and may be used however a member wishes. wink

currently as its set up as far as i see it is a mark of how much power they hold. if anything i say add them for 3 weeks, record the result then start over and try again, and that will show how much support has been gained or lost from there followers over time.

Good ideas all.
I may institue some kind of DP sink, but DP will be used rapidly in a couple of ways I have in mind for it. DP will be used to grant boons to factions and individuals, which will "hopefully" ensure their continued worship/loyalty. For gods this will be a gamble because followers will not be obligated to vote more DP for their gods even if they receive boons from them.

but the DP is used for pretty much only that, and the point of having it is so that there is a limit to how much you can grant. if they keep getting points then this gives an infinite amount of boon one way or the other.
EDIT: but oh wait, i hink i get it now. biggrin the bonuses granted are temporary, but the DP spent is lost for good? is that what i missed before?
