Xinavane had left. She was done. She had had enough. She was going to put her entire past behind her. Everything except... that one thing. That one need that she wasn't done with just yet. That need for revenge... against the pride that had driven away her family, and all the ones like it, and aginst the fools who used Gods that didn't exist as their excuses for what they did.
"Okay..." She murmered, looking out over the otherwise blank feild, "Here I go." Her first steps out into the world alone. It was time. What she was going to do exactly... she didn't know. All she knew was that she had a warrior in her heart waiting to break free... but where... where to go... Well. She had no idea. No idea... what so ever actually. "Oh... crap." She mumbled under her breathe, nose twitching as she looked around.

Mavundevunde, being a god of clouds, didn't spend much time on the ground and rightly so. His domain was of the air, of the sky. And seeing as he didn't have to eat, sleep, or drink unless he wanted to he could remain airborn as long as he liked. So it was quite a rarity to see the fluffy god sitting instead by a small pool of water.
It wasn't a very big or busy location. The water source was too small to be a well-used watering hole and it was likely that most creatures would be scared away by a god's precence anyway. But none of this made any difference to Devu. His head was in the clouds...or at least, his focus was. He was watching the reflection of the sky in the water. But the clouds were poor today, high and sparse. They weren't very amusing, sadly.

Xinavane started walking, trying to decide exactly where she should go... if anywhere for that matter... but what did she know about the world? She had no idea about anything except running for her life. Which she was not doing any more. Even though she certainly had the right looks for being caught by them... but they had probably stopped looking. At least by now anyway.
Then she saw something odd. So odd that she stopped moving. Sat down. Blinked a few times. Stood up. Started walking again. Stopped. Looked back. Sat down again. There was a lion at a watering hole. She had seen lions before, that was not the issue. The issue was that this lion had wings. Not some pretend childish wings. He had wings. Real ones. She could see them move. And frankly, his mane looked like a cloud. She was pretty sure that wasn't standard for lion males.
She walked forward for a moment, then almost stopped again, but then walked up, nearly right next to him as she looked at his wings. "What...? No way." She announced, though more to herself than to him as she tried to circle him and get a better look. "No way. Those can't be real... no way..." She mumbled, trying to get an even better look. It was as though she realized that she was standing before a God... but wasn't entirely possible in her mind.

Devu was far from being an attentive being. So when the young lioness first came up to him, he didn't even notice. It was only when she drew really close and started rambling about something that he recognized she was even there. He blinked his gray eyes and slowly slid his gaze over to look at her. His vision almost looked out of focus and its likely that they were.
He blinked once languidly and then after a pause rumbled a smooth mumble that could barely be seen as a word, "Mmm?" He honestly had no idea what she was babbling about. But then he often didn't even with simple subjects. He didn't understand mortals.

"You. Are. A. God." Xinavane chose to inform him... though since her mind had been entirely blown at this moment, her wording was the last thing on her mind. It simply wasn't possible. Gods didn't exist. Gods were the excuses lions used to torture and kill each other for stupid and selfish reasons. And yet... yet... right there was one. He didn't exactly look like the bloodthirsty killer she had been expecting. Really... really not.
Her mind was so completely blown that she was about as spacey as he was. She had no idea what to say or do. It took everything she had to not... well, not poke him, actually. Not check out his mane to see if it felt like clouds... or tug on his wings... but no. She wasn't a child anymore. She couldn't let herself act like one... but... but... no way. A god. She had just... run into a God.

Devu blinked again slowly, taking in her words. He tilted his head a little, some of his curls slipping along his face. It definately looked like hair. His wings and tail, though, moved and shifted like clouds. What they felt like? That was hard to determine by appearance. They certainly looked and acted like any cloud you would see. But up close a real cloud would just be a mist, like water vapor.
"Yes," he agreed as if the point she made was obvious. Well it was. Even for someone as dense as Devu.

"How?" Xinavane asked, very nearly reaching out as she got a better look at him... she just wanted too... what did clouds feel like? Could she even touch them? Would they be fluffy or... or cold? She wasn't sure. She was even aware of the fact that this God could probably hurt her if he wanted too... but... but she couldn't...
"How can you be a God? Gods aren't real." She insisted, just wanting to hear the words out loud. Just to be sure they were still in her. "This doesn't make any sense. None at all."

"How?" he echoed, his expression becoming confused. Even in such a vexed position it was soft and dozey, as if the cloud god just couldn't be severe about anything...just like his domain's counter-parts. "I am," he breathed, as if that solved everything.
He shifted his attention back to the reflection, yawning a little as he did so, "You are the one who doesn't make sense, mortal."

"Gods don't exist. You don't make sense." Xinavane informed him, settling in to hold her own position. Gods couldn't exist. That was... it was against everything she believed. And frankly, it was blowing her mind a bit. "If Gods existed... then... how could they... how could they..."
She shook her head, sitting down beside the God, "I wish I could stop thinking about now. I shouldn't over-think."

"You are strange," Devu murmured simply. But than, most mortals were. "More strange than other mortals," he voiced allowed. Others asked him about flying or other such random things...but no one had ever told him he didn't exist before. It was odd and frankly silly. Silly mortal. He didn't blame her though. He couldn't; he didn't know the ways of normal lions and other creatures well enough.
"There is nothing to think about," he murmured, trying to spot shapes in the reflection, but the clouds just weren't shapely enough.

"Sure there is. There's you... I've spent my life trying to tell other lions that Gods aren't real." Xinavane mumbled, "How do you think this feels to me? You're not supposed to be real. This is stupid." She hung her head and shook it once or twice.
Then she thought about the strange comment... she couldn't argue on that one. "Well... who ever said being strange was a bad thing? You're pretty wierd yourself, cloud-boy."

"Why would you do a thing like that? That's a silly lie to tell," he murmured, looking slightly confused and bemused at the same time. He couldn't imagine what it felt like to her; empathy was not his strong point. He was too out of focus, off balance. Connecting with others just wasn't something he did very well.
"Mm..." he flicked his cloud tail, sliding his eyes closed briefly, "Maybe." He never really thought of himself as strange. He just...was. "I've never thought about it."

"It wasn't a lie. I didn't know it was anyway." Xinavane mumbled, "No one ever proved to me that Gods existed, why was I suppossed to just sit there and believe it? Yeah right. I don't believe anything unless I see it for myself." She hung her head and groaned, "And now I have... Great... now I have..."
She looked back up, "I've always been strange. There's nothing wrong with it if you get over it." She glanced at him, "Most lions would be at least a little offended if I told them they weren't real."

"You don't have to see something...to believe something," Devu said wispily, rolling his body over slightly so he could better face the sky. It was so blue today...he missed the whiteness. He could even seen the sun as a clear, bright dot in the sky.
"Really?" He asked, mildly sincere, but only sounding half interested, "Do you tell them that often?" He didn't really understand.

"Not on a regular basis, no." Xinavane said with a small shrug, "I believe most lions exist... are you the only God, or are there more of you?" She asked, desperatley. Maybe if there was only one... she wouldn't feel as bad. Really, how many could there be? Really... her parents had said plenty but... but... No. Not more than four. Maybe five?
"Yeah... like the sky." Xinavane mumbled, "And the clouds. You know it's there, because you can see it... but you can't ever touch it."
