She felt it today, her heart lifted and stirred and in the pit of her stomach life stirred prepared to come into the world. She rose slowly and stretched out moving to lick Crunch lightly. Alas had set things up carefully for herself in a small area surrounded by trees and now she was ready to go and put it to good use. She had been careful to include Tempeste and Venera every step of the way and encouraged their joy in becoming big sisters.
"It's time now..." She murmured for Crunch to hear allowing the others to continue their rest.
Alas moved to leave the den squirming a bit feeling the first pang of pain, a warning that her labor of love would soon commence. She hoped Crunch could leave the patrol to another for this event, this would be their first litter. She neglected to ever mention it outloud for the girls sake, they thought they were the first.

 Red lids moved back to form a base line of the stark lightning that was his brows, deep blue eyes shifted from a drowsy sleep to a full alert status.
It's time now, his mate murmured and the blue, white, and red alpha moved to stand up. Stretching and popping tense muscles, then shaking out his fur, Crunch moved to follow Alas out of the den. Living his pack to rest, though he did pause at the nook of the den entrance where Bertok had made a nest for himself.
"Bertok, be sure to tell Mahli and Musketeer that patrol is theirs for the day, and tell my daughters, when they wake, that Alas is bringing in new members for the family." The bird bobbed it's head and even opened its eyes to show the leader it had heard everything, then Crunch moved out.

Alas waited for her mate before moving on to the tree shaded area she had chosen the sun was barely hinting it's arrival in the sky. She moved to lay down gingerly in the soft pile of down Gracia had helped her collect. Her soft blue eyes flickered over to Crunch. "I don't think I've ever been so afraid..." She gave a weak laugh.
It was no easy thing giving birth, but to add to her fears Alas had seen many mothers birth healthy pups and equally still-borns. She also knew mothers died giving birth, she knew she was healthy yet the fear was there.

Crunch followed Alas to her birthing den, once the pups were old enough to leave this place they could have the run of the back of the den, if not the main communal area. His eyes moved towards the horizon, the air was filled with dew, and it was a sweet morning the lighter shade of blue just now trickling into the night sky.
Dark saphires moved to look at his mate. Stepping forward and nuzzling against her, Crunch knew this was a stressful moment for her, he was a ball of well composed nerves, but still a ball of nerves. He didn't know anything about birthing, just to keep the mother from stressing out. Stress or panic could kill a mother if not her pups all to quickly.
"If you want, I'll send Bertok out to find your student, I'm sure he still isn't folded into Agua Azul like the others," he didn't want her to worry, and maybe Alas' student would be of help to them.

Alas knew that Adolfo was not tied to Agua Azul yet by now Twist may have spread to the pack that she was gone for good, an enemy. She knew that Adolfo was a great healer, after all she had taught him the path herself and she was sure his shadows were of the greatest aid. Still she didn't know what the dark males life was like at the moment or if he would be willing to aid her.
"Yes...just let him know...and tell him I feel fine, but incase...if something should happen I would appreciate his aid." The pains were quicker now and she tried to calm herself. There was no need to fear this process it was as old and natural as time itself.
She tried to bury her nose against her mates nose and inhale his scent, this was their family coming at long last, their joy added to the loving pack that Crunch loved and protected. At last she too was a part of that family and she knew her children would be loved and have all the company and support she had longed for so long through her life.

That one phrase, "appreciate his aid," was all he needed to hear to give a low summoning howl to the green crow. Crunch stood over Alas, his whole body was in the position of defensive. If anything came to close, it would be a bad deal for them, unless it was Gracia offering her kind-hearted assistance.
That was when the sound of wings flapped into the area.
"Crunch?" the bird cawed quietly, wanting to know why it had been called from it's post.
"Go to the out-skirts of the pack and Aqua Azul, being in the shadowy area should be enough for you to get the message to Alas' student. Ask him to come for an old friend in need of a favor." The male was still standing in the middle of the entry way.
Bertok jerked his head down in a sharp nod and then took off back into the early morning air.
The dark blue eyes moved to look at his mate's, "Alas?"

Alas moved her paws then, scrabbling for purchase as she felt the strange tugging of life. She calmed herself and pushed outward trying to keep her breathing steady. She knew the pups were all large, she could feel them ready to come into the world. She focused on Crunch to steady her nerves and let out a low whine as the first daughter was born.
With a spine twisting push the pink female, with her fathers initial stamped into her fur, was born. Alas quickly curled in to pull the pup close and inspect it for herself. Her healers mind quickly pronounced a healthy pup and she gazed up at Crunch with a smile.

Crunch was thrown from his pedestal, he was truly not one to understand the whole deal of birthing. Or being all open and goo-goo eyed, even with Tempeste and Venera as the practice offspring; who he thought both turned out to be darling and very charming femmes.
Alas compacted herself in the wave of contractions and a pink and blue with white daughter slid into the world. He couldn't help but smile, even in his ackward state at the big 'C' on her side. This little one wouldn't be able to deny him for her life. She was, in a way funny but not really, branded from birth.
His dark eyes were warm and glowing as he looked up to Alas's face. He licked her muzzle, but just stood in the entry way like a hoovering mountain of blue fur.
"Not my area of expertise, but she looks perfect." He cooed to Alas in a soft gentle tone, only used where he had no fear of being overheard by the others.

Alas smile twisted as she brought her head down against her chest and gasped, this little bundle of joy didn't feel so little. She arched back and growled softly her stomach heaving.
For a long while Alas remained bow backed and struggling, she was ignoring the pain and focusing on pushing, her fear was in the stillbirths she had seen so many times.
Finally she relaxed as a large blue male plopped into the world, his body was patterned in the red and whites from his parents there would be no mistake in the parents of this litter it seemed.

As Alas started to birth the second pup, he moved the little pink girl out away from her mother some, so as not to let her be squashed.
Crunch watched as Alas kept her bowed position for some time and he was beginning to worry about her and their next born. Stillbirth was a big concern but losing her in a complicated birthing wouldn't be the happiness he was praying for. Twix possibly, but not him.
The sound of flapping hasty wings came from outside and Crunch fought logical reasoning to look back over his shoulder to spy the green crow coming back, the shadows racing in behind him.
A smile came to his maw and Crunch looked back to Alas just as a large blue male came into the world. The red and white was markings that distiguished this little guy as truly one of his children, something he was sure Twix would be say, 'and the future heir is right here.'
"You're doing wonderful, absolutely wonderful Love."
Adolfo slipped quickly through the trees. It wouldn't be too long before Fie had their pups, but the shadow shaman felt an obligation to Alas for her teaching to come at the request the bird had quickly cawed out.
He was lead straight to the birthing den and was in slight shock to see the larger and bulker blue mountain of fur hanging inside the small opening. Adolfo had mulled the thoughts over of Tempeste, his neice and one of his god-pups, but would question about her only if Alas was feeling up to the ackward situation. If nothing else he would tell her about Twist's ploy with the lynx.
"How is she doing?" He questioned, not being able to see into the den, but thankfully to his shadows, knew that two pups were already birthed and Alas was beathing well and strong for a laboring mother.

Alas ears pricked upwards and she smiled as the den became darker for a moment, her student had come...and if the shadows were any indication she had been right, Adolfo had a well of power within. She was glad to know that the male would at least be using his abilities for good, it gave her a fluttering sense of hope in all wolves.
She smiled at Crunch softly her eyes bright, she felt a twisting in her stomach and gasped. "I think...one more..."
"Tell Adolfo...thank him...It was silly to ask him to come but...I've seen so many...so many...problems." She curled up and gasped softly the last pup slowly sliding into the world, in pink.

Crunch backed out of the entry way to look at the mildly shorter and lean male, odd, he had always thought most were in proportion to their size, but due to the other's lean shape, that was probably the case of him getting here with the speed he did.
Looking back into the den and listened to Alas's words, Crunch nodded his head and stepped back out, "She believes there is only one more, and she wanted me to thank you. She appologies..."
"No worries," the ebony and ivory male smiled, "She is a far advanced healer and one I owe much thanks to..."
The gasp inside the den had his ears perk forward.
Crunch slid his front half back into the small den and watched as the last pup was born. He smiled, another little girl with her mother's colors...no...not a girl but a boy. Part of the alpha already pittied his son, he would have a hard life with his aunt Twix, with any hope he would be extremely masculine and take on anyone who called him a girl.
Taking to laying down in the entry way, he gave Alas a smile, "They are all beautiful Love."
Adolfo stayed in the clearing for a moment, and looked to the pinking sky. The shadows condensed around him and he looked back towards the big male's back towards the dark entrance.
"Alas. Crunch, congradulation on the litter of three healthy pups." He paused and just stated, "I'll come back once they have settled into your lives. Congradulations again." And then he slipped back off into the fading shadows in the area. Before the bright sun peeked through the trees.

Alas smiled at her mate proudly and pulled the three pups closer tenderly licking them and pressing them near for warmth. She glanced up at the entrance of the den and nodded.
"My thanks Adolfo, you've grown well in body and mind, I wish you much luck in the future, should you ever need my help..." She smiled and softly rested her head on her white gloved paws. Her voice faded slowly, as tired and petite as she was it was surprising she was still talking at all.
She nuzzled Crunch and wriggled a bit settling herself in and touching her nose to his. "We've done it..."

He had heard her words, only carried by the shadows as he slunk back towards Fie in the willow. Not wanting her to worry should she wake before he returned, but one day in the near future he would return to tell Alas of the ploy and where Twist and her family stood. The war wasn't all that much of a secret, in fact the land quivered in sorrow with the expectancy of it.
His prayers and hopes were with Akiiki Chibale, and his sisters. Whose side would he join if he had to chose? Neither, he was in need of pulling his family out away, but he would offer solice to anyone that could make it to his new home. Regardless to their past and he would beseech his parents to come with him. Their age wouldn't allow them to be good fighters, not since they had become soft and lazy in Agua Azul land.
"Love, I think he has gone, but something tells me, he'll be back." He spoke softly smiling as he looked from her white laced eyes to the three healthy pups. He looked at them all with love, even his...pink...son, but it wasn't his son's fault for pelt color. Not like he had chosen to be that way, no, it was the blood that had and well the pack would love them all equally and unbaisedly.
"You've done it, Love. Now rest, nothing will come to disturbe you or our new borns." He promised stretching his neck out to lick her cheek and watch her fall asleep. Seeing his two sons, he would have liked to reflect on the decission on deeming Tempeste as his heir, but something told him that the family would be all right. Not one of them would be treated differently nor would Tempeste, even from his decission be treated in higher regards. They were all his children and in such would still be taught the same things.
Love you family, fight for your family, and stand up for your believes.

Alas gave a soft murmur of contentment and closed her blue eyes, she was very tired. She couldn't help but peek once more at her new treasures, she loved them as equally as she had loved Tempeste and Venera, no more, no less. Finally she closed her eyes again and allowed herself to drift to sleep.
There was no feeling safer than being with her mate, and knowing her family was together, safe and sound.
