I set up my 30 gallon reef yesterday. Anyways, I picked out a live rock at the store where I work that has some sort of mystery zoanthid on it. It was sort of grayish, and it hasn't opened it's polyps up yet, so I can't really ID it. So, while I set up my tank, it sat in a wet styrofoam box with my other live rock. When I took it out of the box, it seemed to have melted... all of the polyps are limp and gelatinous looking, and only a few look intact. The question is, do you think it's capable of making a comeback?

most likely. everytime ive gotten the melted ice cream cone effect from fragging them, theyve returned. heck, it might even split into two. or, just died. that would be tight if it opened up to be a hot pink one or something.
