Yup yup, FF13 is going to be ported onto the Xbox 360.

Thoughts?

As of now yeah. TBH I don't like huge games being ported as they end up being a "middle ground" between the two consoles. I'd rather have a game that takes full advantage of a console vs. a game that just takes a middle ground so that it can work on both.

IMO porting games doesn't really make the game all that special.

Game over man...game over...The PlayStation brand is on it's last legs now....This is the end for Sony in the gaming business...I'm sure everybody else is cheering for joy though.

I don't even like FF...I think it's overrated, but this pretty much spells doom for the PS3. Put Final Fantasy on a game case and a whole bunch of people will come running to pay for it. If games keep on going Multi-platform...the PS3 will be in a very bad position...people will pay for the cheaper console to get these major games.

While not completely confirmed to be exclusive (might be timed), one of my favorite games is going to the 360 first for sure. One of the main reasons I prefer the PS brand over others is the controller...I prefer the DualShock over other controllers, and I like the 360 controller the least.

RPGs aren't the only genre I like...but the 360 is the RPG console of the generation...and it's killing me. Especially the fact that Sony isn't doing anything about it. They're focusing on the Western market (which Square and Tri-Ace are ironically doing) and not doing a damned thing for Japan. The only major exclusive RPG for the PS3 now that I can think of is Folklore.

The 360 has Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon (or whatever it's called), Eternal Sonata (even if timed), Tales of Vesperia, and now Star Ocean. I probably missed some as well. It's sad, but everybody is tired of the same old song and dance. The PS brand is yesterdays news to everybody.

I'm pissed...it's hard not to imagine the worst case scenario.

I don't understand why it's exclusive in Asia though. I mean if your going to multiplat it to every other country why exclude the other?

But TBH I don't care what the hell is going on with Square any more. They've pretty much turned into a money grabbing hungry company since they merged with Enix, or Enix bought them. Milking Final Fantasy VII to it's core, and you know what... It wouldn't surprise me if there is a FF7 remake coming to the PS3.

That alone will piss me off even more!

I think it's time I quit getting so sucked into video games. For real it hasn't hit me till now but I have a horrible emotional attachment to the industy. I want to go back to the days where I was completely in the dark and knew nothing about what was going on. Everything was a surprise and s**t.

I mean for me ateast this generation has turned out to be horrible! Its all fighting and console wars, and with FFXIII being ported I think it just shows how BAD everything is getting.

Then again should I surprised this happened? For years now I've always thought that FF13 would get ported. I think it's safe to say that the xbox is Squares new playground.

Call me paranoid but heres my theroy.

NES was Nintendos first console and Square jumped on board with 3 FF games. Latter the SNES came out and Square released a bunch of games on it plus three more FF games.

Square started to show support towards the N64 but latter jumped ships to the Playstation brand.

Playstation was Sonys first console, and Square released 3 FF games on it, with a slew of Square games. Then the PS2 came out and Square put 3 more FF games on it and even more Square titles.

The only dif is that the 360 is MSs 2nd console. But so far Squares following what it's been doing. Most of Squares games are on the 360, it has more then the PS3 does.

Then theres the whole leader of the industry. Nintendo was the lead from 86-96 (10 years), and face it Sony had it from 96-06 (10 years). And then the 3 console is usally the troubled one.

I know it's crazy, but I came up with this like in 2005, but yeah. I REALLY need to just get away from it all.

I think FF13 going to the 360 will be bad, but i dont think that it will be impending doom for sony. Im in agreement that there is probably a bigger picture here, and it is probably bait.

But i would assume that the SqEx would have a more polished version for the PS3 than the 360, so it really doesnt bother me

and as far as the rpg's going to the 360...
i think once they jump over to the PS3, they will see more sales
because the PS2 was known as the RPG console, and it still is in japan
so i believe that the devs dipped into the 360 world for extra cash, but they are still planning on making their money through the Playstation name
because thats where the majority of fan base for RPGs lies.

i dunno...i could be totally wrong, and im sure i'll have someone debunk me in here, but those are just my thoughts
