Thorn was working at his desk in his office in the back room behind the counter. His secretary, Layla, came in to talk with him about some endeavors he had been in. When she came in, he was working on some new potions and things that he had been experimenting with. His life revolved around his work. "Professor, what have you been up to. You said that we would be getting in some new items within the next few days. It's been almost a week. When will they be coming in?"
The professor looked up from his work and smiled. "Oh, no worries Layla. They'll be coming in sooner or later. Just give them time. There should be some new items arriving very soon. Patience is a virtue." he said with a laugh.
Layla looked at him, she then turned around, smiling. "Okay, well, have fun working. I'll get back to my post than and wait I guess." she said leaving the room, closing the door behind her. She walked into the main lobby and sat down at her seat behind the counter, a magazine sat on her desk. She began to read it, waiting for the new arriving items to come in.
The large, oaken doors were sealed for hours. Layla sat, waiting...
((Just start by coming in. xD I don't care what order. But when your ready for the next person to post, state it in the main thread that you posted. And Professor Thorn will just take the items, and we'll see how this goes. xD))

"Well...this must be the facility..." Julia muttered to herself as she stared at the return address on her letter and then back at the building. In her other hand, she was busy carrying a regular sized violin case, which was a little bit heavier than she had expected. Without a moments hesitation she pushed open the doors of the building open and stepped inside.
Julia was determined as to who had been the one that sent her such an odd letter, and possibly nearly food poisoning her too. Spotting the secretary after scanning the room, she approached the woman.
"Excuse me, miss. I'm looking for...uh...." Julia paused for a moment to read the sender of the letter's name. "Professor Thaddias Thorn. Is this person available?"

"Ugh!" Lucille growled as she finally faced the doors to the agency, not too long after Julia entered. Looking down at the letter, she spoke to herself, "Did I get it wrong? Why does this place need this crap?" She muttered, looking for any hint of a mistake on the letter. Finding none, her head hung in a sigh, which she pushed back up and brushed back black and bleach blonde streaked hair before pushing open the doors and sticking her head in the lobby to call out, "Helloooo!" To the secretary and Julia inside and then stepping in herself, her own set of items in a bag at her side, hanging past the red sash belt on her hips over her dress. "Professor Thorn's here, right?" She asked, moving in a full rotative circle before facing the two other women again, a little confused.

As soon as Julia entered the building, Layla jumped up. She knew what this woman was here for. She was just one of Professor Thorn's pawns in his games, but of course, she didn't want to disturb him just yet. She was told there were supposed to be a couple of items arriving at around the same time. So, as it were, she was supposed to keep item one stalled, waiting for item two.
"Well, hello, and welcome to the P.I. Agency. I'm Layla, the secretary, in charge of all of Professor Thorn's dealings. I'm afraid that he is-" is all Layla could get out before the doors come bursting forward again. 'There she is. Now we may begin this game.' she thought to herself.
"-now availible." she stated, now smiling. She then said, "I'll be right back. I'll let the Professor know you've arrived." With that, she had just walked out, and back into that back room.
After a few moments, a tall man, dressed in fashionable blue silks, much like a rich man would wear, came out. "Welcome! I'm Professor Thaddias Thorn. Oh, Julia and Lucille I presume? I've been waiting for you. Please, have a seat." he said, coming back from behind the counter, and showing both of the women to a couch and a few seats in the main, elegant lobby. "Please, have a seat, you do have the items I've asked for, correct? Oh, Layla, will you get these two lovely ladies a drink? Would you two like anything?" he asked. He was happy to finally see them arrive.

There was another one? Julia asked herself mentally when she sees Lucille. She tilted her head curiously. 'So I wasn't the only one who got this weird letter...' She straightened up slightly when the professor had finally arrived.
Julia nodded her head as she took a seat on the couch. "I don't need a drink" She says. In all honesty, she was being a little cautious about any food or beverage served in this place. No offense to anybody in this place, or anything.
"And yes, I've brought the item..." Julia replied as she placed the violin case on her lap. While holding onto it securely, she unlocked the case to reveal the violin that was carefully placed inside.

Lucille raised an eyebrow at the old man's greeting. Just knowing her name didn't raise too many questions due to ego, but she had never heard of this Julia which brought on suspicion. "...P.I.? Private investigator or... something?" She asked, a question delayed by Thorn's entrance. Being directed to the couch, she walked over but remained standing, one hand tightly clutching the strap of the shoulder bag containing the items she was sent to hunt down as well as few other things here and there. "Yeah, I have the items. What exactly do you do here?" She asked, a little more then curt. Her patience for this endeavor had worn out a long time. She simply waved off the offer of a drink, not planning on staying long enough to need one.

Professor Thorn waited on Lucille's question until they were all comfortably seated. "Well, that in itself is a good question my dear. P.I. stands for Project Itemis. I cannot reveal everything to you two quite yet, but I do need those items. Please, hand them over to Layla, and we'll be on our way with your reward. The one thing I must ask you do, is be patient. Patience is our key theme in this agency. Layla, will you?"
The woman, standing there useless the entire time, was now strolling up between the two women. "May I?" she asked, holding out her hand to receive the violin and the ram's horn and wool. She hoped the two would be more reluctant than the first couple people to get the items.
Professor Thorn sat there, smiling. "Please, do not worry. You'll be getting your reward very soon. Just hand over the items to Miss Leemaan here, and we'll get to work on your reward." he said. He hoped that would help out in the process of handing over the items. "If you have any other questions, please, feel free to ask. I know I was rather brief in your letters, but I thank you for taking the time and effort to get these items for an old man." he continued, laughing a bit in the process.

"Uh..." Julia started rather dumbly, giving the odd man a rather blank stare. In fact her mind was unusually, rather blank right now. "Just what can you possibly need with these items?" She asked while locking the case and then handing it, with the musical instrument inside, over towards Layla.
Getting a violin was strange. But upon seeing Lucille's requested items, was even weirder. Perhaps the professor was really a mad scientist like in those old horror movies. Thinking over all of the ridiculous possibilities made Julia slightly nervous.

Lucy retrieved the ram's horn and little puff of wool from her bag, but hesitated to release them to the secretary, "Yeah, I have a question, what's the reward?" She looked questioningly at the professor while her fingers refused to release the items she paid good money for. "And another thing," Professor Thorn's laugh was too irritating to not let up on the questions, "Any particular reason why I," She really couldn't care less about Julia's inconvenience, "had to go out and complete a shopping list for you? You're rich, don't you have specifically hired people for that? People you didn't send a letter out of the blue to hire?"

Professor Thorn liked Julia's way of handling things much more. He looked at Lucy in dismay. Layla picked up the case and took it into the back room, figuring that, the tight grip that Lucy had her items in, would give her the indication that she would be waiting to receive those items for a bit. So, to not waste time, she took the violin into the back room and came back out with nothing.
Thorn glanced at Julia, then at Lucy and smiled. "Well, I see you both have questions for me. Julia, to be honest, I cannot release that kind of answer quite yet. You'll see in due time, my dear. As for your questions Lucy, I chose you because I saw you had the right qualifications for what we were looking for in a person. You have a strong dignity, and you do not let things beat you up. You'd be a great role model. I am rich, yes, but I see you do not completely understand. You see, my research has been going on for quite some time now, but I need you for a specific purpose. You'll get your reward tomorrow morning. As of now, I see it is getting rather late. If you'd rather me take your reward for myself, I can do that just fine. Now, I have set up rooms specifically for you two. Designed and decorated according to your own specific needs. If you'd excuse me, I'd like to get back to work. Lucy, if you'd kindly give your items to Layla, I'll get to work with these, and by tomorrow morning, you both will receive your rewards on each of your doorsteps. Layla will deliver them to you personally. Anything else you'd like to ask? I'd like to get back to work." he said, trying to fully answer all questions to the best of his ability, but not giving anything away. He would hate to have to take the items from Lucy unwillingly.

Julia watched as the violin was taken away and into the back room, mentally saying good bye to it. Her attention was turned back towards the older man who had begun answering their questions. However, the answer didn't seem to please Julia. At least for the moment.
"Wait a minute...rooms?" She asked upon hearing about them. "W-we have to stay here for the night?" Though the idea was somewhat convenient but at the same time inconvenient. Julia didn't think that this meeting would take such an odd turn and had expected to return home as soon as it was over. On the other head, she didn't really have to make another lie to return back to this weird agency again.

Lucy gave up up her items, repressing the urge to keep running her mouth. It seemed like too much of a risk to have whatever reward she was going to get from this withdrawn after she'd already gone to work getting items she had no use for herself. She found the concept of the rooms to be a tad creepy, but she was cheaper then she was scared off and if she was going to save a night's rent and get this 'payment' faster then she was more then willing to comply. "Alrighty," She said, hands briefly lifted in a gesticulative shrug, "Lead the way then," She said addressing the secretary.

Professor Thorn looked at Julia. "Why, yes, the process is tedious, so we must take every precaution. And well, it takes a bit of work. I'm sorry, I can't say any more, if you wish to receive your rewards, you must stay at least one night. Hopefully, once you actually do receive them, you'll be more than happy to stay yet another night, and another, maybe even live here in the P.I. Agency!" as he said all of this, he got up, grabbed the items from Layla's hands, since she took them from Lucy, and then said, "Layla, please take the guests to their suites and new living quarters." With that, he was strutting off back to his lab.
Layla smiled. "Well, if you'd like to follow me, I'll take you to your rooms." she said, happily. She then began to walk over to a staircase. Right next to the staircase was an elevator. If you had noticed, everything was decked out in gold and burgundy colors, just like the wax seal. "The rooms that the professor has laid out are on the third floor. Second floor is the kitchen, and the first is the lobby. The fourth is mostly unused, but able to be used if necessary, and the fifth is pretty much for storage. You each get your own key. So here." she said, handing off both girls their own key. Julia's was shaped like a violin, the head and neck being the key itself. Lucy's key was normal, but had a chain linking the key with a little a charm of a rams horn with a puff ball on the end. Both, cheesy, both, were the keys to their new rooms. "Remember, third floor. Take the elevator or the stairs, whichever you wish. I'll be up with your rewards first thing in the morning." she said, smiling happily. Afterwards, she walked back to her post, sat down, and began to read her magazine once more.

"Er...well.." Okay, Julia has now concluded that this old guy was insane. However, before she can even say anything else, the professor was gone. "Just one night, and it should be fine...I suppose..." She muttered to herself. Her attention then turned back to the secretary who was explaining what was on each floor.
Finally, she examined the key that she had been given before looking back at the staircase and elevator. Then Julia turned back towards Layla, walking up to her desk. "Are there any phones in our rooms? I need to call my family to notify them that I won't be coming home tonight. If I don't, they may get a little bit worried..." When Julia returns home tomorrow after receiving her reward, she'd didn't want to be attacked with questions and demands of where she had been last night. It was a headache that the girl rather avoid.
