Walking through a field, Delsin wasn't sure what he was doing now. There wasn't... much to do. Being a curious soquili, Delsin had already explored most of the region except the darkest areas of the forest. He had advised himself against going in too deep to the forest. Maybe someday his curiosity would bring him back to explore.
But for now, Delsin tried to occupy himself. He kept his face low in the grass trying to look at the little bugs and small critters working in between each strand of grass he was walking through. For some reason, Delsin had a strange fascination with bugs. One day, he had sat and stared at an ant hill to see what they did. He came to the conclusion that they worked to survive and even though soquili did different things, it was basically the same idea...
Delsin had made a few friends since he grew awhile back but he was such a wanderer. He hadn't seen any of those that he had encountered recently because he never stayed in one spot for very long.

"Is this a sort of strange hobby of yours?" Came a soft, feminine voice from above.
Seeking new surroundings, Eden had ventured out into the open to clear her head, and to allow her thoughts to settle. But rarely, did another soquili venture into the outskirts of the forest. She had hardly been expecting to find someone much less anyone else here.
If she were to be honest, She'd prefer the company of the desolate trees surrounding her instead of the company of a soquili after her recent experiences. But on the other hand.. it had almost a month before she had encountered anyone else.
"I do admit, it intrigues my curiosity as to why you'd venture into such a place. Perhaps, You are searching for someone?" She inquired, with a questioning tilt of her head. Courtesy had long since been ingrained in the mare, to the point that she stifled her desire for isolation within the dark pitful depths of the forest.
"I find that most don't tend to wander too far into this forest.. Although I cannot fathom why."

Raising a brow, Delsin didn't even hear Eden walking up to him. He was so enveloped in looking at the grass and the bugs. Shrugging, Delsin grinned at the female. "Perhaps. It's actually very interesting, you know? Each bug does it's own thing and they all have different behaviors." Shaking his head slightly, Delsin stood up to his full height and looked at Eden. "I'm not looking for anybody. There's nobody I really need to look for anyway. Are you searching for someone?" What a strange question.
Far into the forest? Delsin didn't notice that he was so deep in the forest. "Usually, bugs are more common where there are less soquili so I guess that kind of explains it. They don't like getting squished." With an amused look on his face, Delsin was quite content and he really didn't get scared. "Why are you wandering about here?" It was especially strange for a mare to be out so far.

".. I-I like the silence here. It allows privacy from the prying eyes of others." She replied in answer to his question. As she studied the stranger, the thought occurred to her, that she may have stumbled upon someone possessing quite a.. unique character. "Hm.." She murmured to herself, with speculative eyes.
The soquili may have claimed not to be searching for someone, but his fascination with insects implied differently. "Had he come here just to look at the bugs than?" She wondered with a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
"Interesting? Is that how you see them?" As Eden studied the miniature insects crawling amongst the dirt, she felt a pang of longing, as she realized that she might have thought that once herself. "They are no more than useless creatures." She remarked in quiet tone before walking away. Insects were as insignificant as soquili themselves.

Delsin had to nod in agreement. "I guess so. Privacy is nice, I guess..." The stallion's eyes lingered on the bugs for a few more seconds but Delsin focused his attention on the mare in front of him. His eyes observed her and she looked interesting... He shook his head at her question. "Not just bugs. Anything I can find..." Delsin liked to explore and observe others, not soquili, but any bugs, birds, or animals. They were all very fascinating and it kept him very occupied. He hardly ever interacted with soquili.
Giving her a skeptical stare, Delsin didn't quite understand her answer. "Uh. They're not useless. Everything has a purpose..." He had never heard anybody say that before and that was a little strange... Delsin had paused to rethink that but he came to the same conclusion. Insects were quite necessary for the circle of life. But then she had begun walking away. What? Delsin was so confused, had he done something wrong? He walked after her, "Why do you think that? Insects can be very useful."

"Than I must say that our views happen to vary." She replied, as she continued to walk away. While insects may have been necessary to his circle of life, it certainly didn't matter to her. They were no more than 'things' that could be replaced by another.
With her rather abrupt and rude exit, she would have thought that the soquili would have adopted to stay behind. So when she happened to glance back, and found the tall stallion following her, she was fairly surprised by his persistence. Her once bright, and now dull gray eyes flashed with annoyance. All she wanted was to isolate herself away, and he couldn't grant her that.
Coming to a halt, "Why are you following me? You don't even know me." She said, durning tdo face him "Or do you just happen to follow any stranger that comes along your path?" Her tone was sarcastic, and her expression was somewhat annoyed. Although her displeasure was aimed at the stallion, most of it was directed towards herself.
To be truthful, it wasn't like the stallion had done anything wrong. She hadn't intended to be rude or sarcastic. She had intended to excuse herself politefully, but seeing the stallion's kindhearted-ness had struck something inside of her, causing the words to slip out. Once said, words couldn't be taken back.

Staring at her skeptically, Delsin wasn't really turned off by her and her actions had just made him more curious. "That's fine then. I like a little opposition." He really appreciated bugs and he was surprised that she didn't. Those that he had met believed him or at least could concede to his opinion.
With his curiosity hit, Delsin couldn't help but follow her. He could sense her annoyance with him but he didn't care. This gave him something to do and she really was rather fascinating.
"I'm not following you. I'm accompanying you along. You don't know me either so why don't you introduce yourself so we can get those formalities out of the way? I'm Delsin by the way." Chuckling slightly, he was clearly entertained and wasn't bothered by her displeasure at all or at least he didn't show it. Sometimes his curiosity got him into too much trouble... It would take him awhile to realize that she wanted him to go away.

Surprised, Eden had to commend the stallion's persistent efforts. He certainly didn't allow others to ruffle his feathers. "Opposition? I rarely encounter others.. who appreciate such a trait." She observed..
"And I can see that opposition is futile upon you. Although no one can't blame me for the lack of trying." She said, allowing a sigh to escape.
A few minutes passed, before the stallion spoke once more. Despite her irritation, She suddenly felt herself burst into laughter. The sudden change of emotions baffled herself.. Perhaps it was his attitude. Whatever the cause may have been, she felt her guard lowering within that moment. Unable to prevent the flow of her words, She replied to the stallion in an amused manner. "Is that what you think of formalities?" She said, with genuine surprise. "You sound as if you want to toss them aside." She said, breaking into a chuckle.
But her smile soon faded as quickly as it came. The realization of her smile, was embarrassing if not awkward. How could she have forgotten where she was? Or what was happening? Shifting her hooves to the side, "Delsin, was it?" She replied, switching to a polite tone. "I thank you for the .. kind formalities but I have no obligation or interest in telling you mine."
"Besides, what use would a name be, if after this, we were never to encounter each other again?"

Delsin could be interpreted as stubborn but he was really driven by his curiosity. "Really now? Well, I do. It keeps things interesting." He could tell that she seemed somewhat annoyed but was she just pretending to be annoyed. Laughing out loud, Delsin was clearly enjoying this encounter.
Hm? Tilting his head, Delsin listened to her speak. "Formalities are unimportant but some soquili think they're very important. I don't feel like we need to introduce ourselves. Names are precious and they should only be revealed to those that we are truly close to." Delsin dropped into his serious phase again. When he spoke seriously, he was definitely thinking about a million other things at the same time.
Laughing again at her reply, Delsin shrugged. "That's fine. I don't need to know your name but you can know mine." Winking playfully at her, Delsin was such a kid at heart and he just loved enjoying himself when he was around others. "Well, we could assure that we'll meet again. That's always an option but I can tell that you probably don't want to ever see me again." That was the reaction of a lot of soquili. Delsin was absolutely fine with that and he just went on his merry way.

"To anyone, that would be obvious to tell." She pointed out, with a pretense of an annoyed look within her eyes. "In the span of what - an hour? My whole day had been ruined by your 'interest'." She complained, with a huff. She desired to say more, but her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sound of laughter. Her ears flickered toward the sound, as her hooves shifted restlessly from side to side.
It baffled her as to why Delsin was laughing.. It couldn't be that he was enjoying this silly conversation? Or was he amused by something? She couldn't tell. It certainly was tempting to ask WHAT he was laughing about, but to ask would have betrayed her interest in his thoughts. Instead, she elected to remain silent. She was afraid that if she were to speak, there would be a moment of vulnerability she would regret later.. or several.
Delsin had also chosen at that moment to speak. Idly, she stood by listening as she resumed an indecipherable expression. She had expected some sort of nonsense from him.. but when he finished, she felt confused by his words. If names were as precious as he said they were, why would he choose to reveal his to her? It made no sense, and left her with a bitter tase in her mouth as she bit back her question.
But what affected her the most were his last words. "That's always an option but I can tell that you probably don't want to ever see me again." She knew that she purposely given off that impression herself. But to hear it in such blunt words left a heartache in her chest. Perhaps she wouldn't have minded, if he were someone else. Or if he was just referring to her. But the phrasing of his words indicated that this wasn't the first time. Unaware of the sudden change in her emotions or her actions, she found herself doing something completely unexpected.
With a few hesitant steps toward him, she grabbed a handful of his mane in her mouth. She felt a shadow of her old self returning. With a muffled voice, she muttered in a soft tone "You are staying.. right?"

Delsin often said things that were contradicting or difficult to interpret. Even he didn't understand what he said sometimes but he never tried to dwell on his actions or words. He watched her carefully trying to understand her body language and tone but it was hard for him to understand what she was trying to tell him. He could tell there was a sense of conflict within this mare. The stallion could really laugh at anything; he loved laughing and it just made him happy.
He didn't like dodging around the bush. Delsin liked telling things the way they were and sometimes that bothered other soquili. He hated being false and pretending to do things to please others. He just wanted be happy and he wouldn't let anybody else bring him down by being something he wasn't.
Raising a brow, Delsin was surprised by her actions. It seemed like she wanted him to disappear just a few seconds ago but now they were connected by his thin strands of hair. What was she doing? Her actions were confusing him but he liked this. She made him think and try to figure her out. He really needed mental stimulation or he would become very restless.
His laugh echoed on the trees once again. "Wow. Yeah, sure I'll stay. You could have just asked." A huge grin appeared on his face. "Why the sudden change of heart?"

His echoing laughter shook her out of the daze she was in, and snapped her back to reality. "Y-you just imagined things is all." She said with a slight panick to her voice, as she suddenly dropped her hold on his mane. W-what had she just done? Of course, she had made a complete fool of herself! And after she had warned herself, no less!
This was certainly a feat of stupidity, she thought as she scowled to herself.
Spying the stallion's wide grin, she snorted only in reply. "Tch..!" She took a few steps back, to avoid further physical contact. Cursing herself for her weakness, she turned her profile away from the stallion's eyes. She would try to regain her previous composure and ignore what had happened. Or at least that was what she hoped.
But that was harder said that done. She felt her emotions welling up in her face, as she struggled to keep it under control."I can't believe that I did that.." With her head kept down, she contemplated her actions . "I really thought that I had steeled myself too.." She felt as if she were crying silent tears of exaustion. How did one's resist this stallion? Oh certainly, it wasn't his charm. More likely, it was probably his easygoing personality and lighthearted attitude.
"What happened to my sweet life of isolation?" She muttered, with a sigh. How on earth did one soquili manage to disrupt her life so?

Shrugging, Delsin still had the huge grin on his face. "Nah. I have a vivid imagination but I wasn't imagining this." He wasn't really used to her personality yet but he found her absolutely adorable. She was interesting and she had kept him interested for awhile and that was very rare. Delsin had the affinity to just let his thoughts constantly wander.
Why did she look so embarrassed? How strange. He wondered what he could have possibly done for her to feel that way. "Why? What's wrong with that?" He looked at her with a genuine look of wondering. "Steeled yourself? I'm not quite sure what you're talking about but maybe you should just tell me." Delsin laughed again wondering if she would really tell him what she was talking about.
"Isolation?" Delsin had a lot of questions and he was pretty sure that's why a lot of soquili didn't like him. He questioned things that they didn't have answers for. That was a little embarrassing. Delsin looked at her curiously and his mind was already developing a new round of questions for her to answer if she chose to ignore him.

Unable to accept the reality of what she had done, she continued to deny the stallion's words. "Some people find it hard to distinguish imagination from reality. Perhaps, you are one of them?" She asked, with a concerned tone. "I'm certain that with your character, anything is possible~" The sarcasm of her words were unmistakable, but her eyes glinted in amusement. However, she still wouldn't admit the truth of what she had done.
She had planned to dismiss the subject but the reiteration of her thoughts stopped her in her tracks. .. She wasn't aware that she had spoken her thoughts aloud, and was startled to hear the stallion repeat her words.
"I suppose I never noticed.." She mused silently, surmising that she must have developed the habit when confined to the deep depths of the forest. It wouldn't have been difficult to do so, especially when one wished to pass the time.
Dwelling deeper upon random thoughts, she was suddenly interrupted by Delsin's questions. Unable to confide her thoughts to him, she was reluctant to answer the question that he proposed. Instead, she attempted an tactful evasive answer. "My thoughts aren't any of your concern. "
