Yuri looked ahead silently as the open field before her. There were so many things she could think of to do, but she couldn't decide on any of them. She looked around sheepishly, hoping for someone to come and choose for her and to be her playmate. So she waited, deciding.

Latté bounded up the steep hill to the small clearing below. A small breeze blew by, brushing by his thick fur. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Yuri sitting alone by a lone tree. Paws itching with excitement, he quickly ran to her. "Puu! Hi Yuri!"

Yuri looked over her shoulder as a familiar voice reached out to her. It was her best, and only, friend, Latte, running over towards her. "Umm...hi...Latte!" She said, unsure if she should run out to greet him or remained where she was. She thought about this for as he ran, not deciding fast enough.

Latté ran faster, now that his best friend Yuri had noticed him coming. He skidded to a halt at the base of the tree, rustling some fallen leaves. "How are you? Puu?" he asked inquisitively.

Yuri was silent for a moment after hearing Latte's question. "Umm... I think I am... no wait... I'm... umm... good..?" she stuttered, unable to make up her mind about her emotion. She then hesitantly nodded, repeating, "Y-yeah... I'm good..."

Latté smiled cheerfully. "That's good!" After scuffling his paws around in the dirt and leaves, he looked up at Yuri. "Do you want to play with me?" He looked back down at his paws, wondering what Yuri would reply.

Yuri looked at Latte with a smile, her decision coming easily for once. She nodded, before happily saying, "Yuri wants to play with Latte!" She stood up and sat down next to him, giving him a look of asking him what were they going to play.

Latté nearly jumped on Yuri with excitement. "Umm..." he thought for a while, cocking his head. "How 'bout we go swimming? In the pond," he suggested, looking at the pond near the clearing. "It'll be fun!"

Yuri listened to Latte, quickly agreeing to his idea. "Ok... we go swimming then?" She looked down to where the pond was, she hadn't been swimming before, but she figured it couldn't be too hard. She also didn't want to ruin Latte's fun by saying no.

"Alright, follow me!" Latté gently took Yuri by the paw and tugged her towards the pond. Releasing her paw after she got the general path, Latté started running towards the small expanse of clear water in the pond. Panting, he slowed down, turning around to see where Yuri was.

Yuri squealed as Latte pulled her, giving no resistance to the movement. She stumbled as he let go and followed after him at a much slower pace. She couldn't believe how big this pond was seeming to get as she got closer, it was practically ginormous!

"Hurry up!" Latté called, nearly falling headfirst into the pond as he attempted to walk backwards. He was only saved by a portruding root from a nearby tree. As he hauled himself back up, he found Yuri already looking at the pond. "It's pretty, isn't t?" he asked, gesturing at the flowers that grew nearby.

"Kay," Yuri called back as she tried sped up, even though it didn't do much help. She caught up to Latte soon after, and looked at the flowers. She nodded hesitantly as she looked at them. "V-very pretty..."

Latté smiled. "They're like you, Yuri! You're also pretty!" He then jumped into the pond, attempting to not splash Yuri, but failing. Turning to face her, he called out. "Puu~, the water's great!"

Yuri cocked her head. "Yuri pre-" she was cut off from her sentence as a splash of water hit her, and she blinked as it passed. She looked at Latte as he swam around, and cautiously stood up and walked to the water's edge. She hesitantly stuck a paw in the water, not knowing if she should go in or not.
