Melody paced through the pride lands, the chains at her ankles chiming in an odd counternote to her soft singing. Her odd-eyes searched the lands, all-seeing, and yet blind... As though she looked beyond the world to the souls behind it... Fantasy_Rocks13 Zahir was lounging under a scrawny tree, bored out of his mind. Since Shida had left him to fend for himself, he was bored. Bored, bored, booooored.
But as he was trying to think of what to do with himself, his ears twitched at the sound of a soft, lovely voice singing a song he hadn't heard. His flakes bobbed as the black male lifted his head to try and spot the source of the enrapturing song. When he finally saw who it was that was singing, Zahir's interest was perked, not that it took much to do so. He scrambled from under the tree to meet the singer - she was pretty and he had yet to see her in the lands. ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Melody considered the male, power flaring in her bi-colored eyes. A flare of her wings sent another flurry of wind to the feathers that danced around her, but they followed as she moved. It was hard to be thought beautiful when you were dripping blood and feathers.... Somehow, she managed.
Seeing the male moving toward her, she smiled. "Hello..." Fantasy_Rocks13 The black male grinned at Melody, radiating friendliness. "Hello! I'm Zahir; sorry if I interrupted your song - I was just... drawn towards it," he admitted, blinking as he noticed the blood on her pale wings for the first time. Was she hurt? Did she need care by a healer? "Are you injured?" he asked, his bright, crimson eyes still staring at the bloodied wings and legs of the dark angel that stood before him. ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Melody blinked at the male. "Injured?" She considered her wings and forelegs with a smile. It didn't actually 'drip' or 'stain', after all, she was a song... But... It was real, after a fashion, just the same.
"No.. Its... Its complicated... But I am well.. I don't need a Healer..." Fantasy_Rocks13 Zahir blinked at Melody but said nothing on the subject after that. "So what are you doing here? I may not know many lions here, but I sure know I haven't met, or seen, you before." He had so many more questions but he was slowly beginning to learn that bombarding people with questions was not good. Melody tilted her head, wondering at the forwardness of the remark. No hello or offer of a name, hmm? She sat, smiling. "I am Melody Unchained, Melody please, and I am new to this area... I am looking for my brother and his family... I can hear their songs nearby..."
She gave a casual shrug. Probably not exactly a reply that made sense... But it was the truth....

"Oh, okay! I'm Zahir, nice to meet you! Who's your family? Why do you need to see them?" Ack! There he wen again, shooting off questions without waiting for an answer. He really had to learn patience.

"Zah-heeer..." She rolled his name in her mouth, testing it.. Quite a musical name for such a young, 'normal' seeming male. "A pleasure to meet you... My Brother is called Ballad... He is a King... His mate is one called Whistle..."
She frowned. Their songs were strong. Happiness, Love, Contentment... And several softer tunes... Their children...

He nodded, smiling as Melody tested out his name. His was so much more foreign than hers but... Zahir liked her name better. "Ballad and Whistle? Hm... I'm afraid I haven't heard of them, sorry... But I bet you'll have no problem finding them! You can fly, so that should make your search easier, right?" he asked, his grin growing.

"Yes..." She shifted on her paws, wings flexing, flaring wide, then folding. "I would hope it will aid in tracking them down..."
She sighed. "It has been many years since I have seen him..."
Melody didn't really know what her purpose in this land was... Certainly the bonds of family had not brought her... Ballad was virtuous and true; Melody sensual deceit... They had little in common, but regardless... She wanted to see her brother.

"I'm sure you'll find them!" Zahir said, nodding. "Wings are always helpful in scouring the land. And time is no difference. You will find them." He was sure of it, even if he had no idea where they were. "Can I help you look for them?" Zahir asked, an idea forming. He was lonely and she needed to find her family, right? Well two sets of eyes were better than one!

Melody smiled. That he would offer to assist her was quite kind, him being practically a stranger. "I would greatly appreciate that, Zahir. I thank you for so kind an offer, to a stranger in a new land..."
She batted at the grass. "It would be most helpful to have another set of eyes to aid in the search. My brother is quite tall, with many more of these markings you see upon my coat... His hide is the color of the sky... While his mate is the deep purple of midnight..."

"It's nothing, Melody, really. I want to help! A good hunt for your family would be good for me," he said, flashing the winged lioness another grin. He listened to her description of her brother and his mate, storing the information at the back of his mind. "I'm sure they'll stand out from the others," Zahir stated. He'd seen many lions from afar and never had he seen any with markings like hers - glowing markings always stood out; like his.

"Rather than wings, he has markings like wings..." She added on... "Your kind call him a Solar, I think? He stands quite tall..."
She nodded. "I am most grateful for your help... Would you perhaps, like to walk with me a bit? I do not want to abandon your company so soon, I think a walk would be most pleasant.."
She smiled slightly.

Again, Zahir nodded. "Oh a Solar, hm? Yes, he will stand out then. Most Solars around here are more brightly colored, so your brother will definitely be an oddity here," Zahir replied as he stored that information away as well. "Oh! Sure!" he said, surprised by her questions of him joining her. "I would love to walk with you." Truth be told, he was awfully lonely too. Ever since Shida had forced him to go out on his own, he'd been without a companion. But then Melody showed up and he not only had a beautiful lioness to talk to, but now he had a mission to do.

She smiled and set out at an easy stroll, glancing at the world around her. It was all so different from everything she had seen... So different from all she had known during her long life. She wasn't quite sure if that was good or bad, but she felt herself warming to this place... And its inhabitants.
"Can I call you friend?" She asked as they walked along, her glance sidelong and shy. "I would like to think... Since you are so kindly helping me find my family, that you are my friend..."
Her voice became soft, shy. "I... I have never had a friend before."

The black lion easily paced with Melody, glad to have someone to journey with, even if it wasn't going to be forever. But he was shocked by Melody's sudden question, so much so his eyebrows raised in surprise. "Friend? Ah well, I suppose so. I would like to be considered a friend of yours," Zahir replied with a sincere smile. "Never had a friend before? Than I would be honored to be your first."

She smiled at him. Poor Zahir, he seemed surprised that she had never had a friend before.. However, in the Dark Realm.. Well, there was conquest and bloodshed, but no friendship.. Alliances for power, but those.. Those could be a lie.
Melody had had no choice but become the dominant power. She revelled in her freedom.
"I am not always friendly." She said in response to his question. "But I thank you for your friendship, and the kindness you show me, Zahir.. Know that I will never betray it."
She would have her moments.. Of rage and bitterness and pain.. But she would never betray.
