Giant hooves thudded against the ground as Caravel cantered across the field. His leg gave out as his hoof hit a rock and he tumbled over. "Ugh! As he hit the ground he rolled onto his side to try not to hit his head. He looked up at the sky from his spot and sighed.

Thump. Thump. Thump. Pant. Dani smiled in the familiar rhythm of her gallop. It was hard work, pumping her muscles, feeling sweat drip down her brow, but Dani loved running more than anything in the world. Her mother had once tried to describe the bliss of flying to her, and when she had been younger, Dani had craved for wings like her brother's, but at last, she had found pure and uncontrolled joy in running, on the ground. Flying was beautiful, graceful, and effortless, but galloping, well, Dani couldn't describe how free she felt, thundering across the plains. She knew that there was exhilaration and freedom in flying too, but, Dani basked in the satisfied exhaustion she always felt after a hard run. Maybe she would have felt differently had she been born with wings, but, you didn't have wings, and you worked with what you got.
Abruptly, Dani stopped. Ahead of her she saw a fallen shape; could somebody be hurt? She resumed her gallop at an even faster pace. "Are you okay?" she said, when she finally reached the Soquili.

Caravel's forelock fell into his eyes as he looked up at the femme. "I'm fine! Just clumsy," he said a bit embarassed. He stood up cautiously, his legs moving gracefully back up. He had heard her running before, it sounded like fun. He hadn't had a good run for a while, normally he was with his friends and when he wasn't sleeping and eating. "Sorry about that. I am Caravel. And I assume you like to run? He dropped his foreleg into a bow and then pulled himself back up, ears pricked. He admired her green color, it was interesting. Her hooves had caught his attention to, because he was staring at them when he had fallen.

Dani blushed a little at Caravel's bow, then bent her forelegs into an awkward courtesy. "Please don't apologize; I'm glad you're alright," she said after she bobbed back up. "I'm Dani, nice to meet you, Caravel." The stallion was a strange greenish brown (or was it brownish green?) that Dani had never before encountered. Following a fudge-colored mane and tail were brown speckles that lined his back and neck, as well as his coat above his hooves. Finally, deep green-gray swirls were etched all across his body.
"Oh, I love to run," Dani said. She supposed that it was pretty dang obvious. "And yourself?
(( I'm going to have limited net access for the next few days. D: Sorry, I just remembered..... ))

(( Tis' ok! ))
Caravel smiled warmly, she seemed nicer than most of the mares he had met. He perked his ears in interest, she had a pretty name. "Your name is beautiful, I have not heard anything like that before. Well, I don not believe that I have.... And I do like to run, but I have absolutely no stamina. I can hold up at a fast pace for all of... four heart beats" He chuckled at himslef, for it was true. He tilted his head to look up at the sky and then back down. "Beautiful day for a run. Do you live by here? Honestly, he lived anywhere between the beach and the fields. He didn't bother to go anywhere else, for he had everything he would ever need here.

"Thank you," Dani said, as she felt another wave of heat flush her face. "Um, my two-legger's tepee is by the beach, but I spend most of my time with my mother and father." Dani was unashamed to admit that she still lived with her parents, even as her younger brother was caring for his second batch of baskets. Dani shrugged inwardly. She had no desire to start a family of her own. "What about you, Caravan?" she said, testing his name on her lips. "Your own name's quite unique, are you from around here?"
