RULES

0. READ THE ENTIRE FIRST PAGE! There is lots of information here, and it is important that you read it to get an idea of how this place works! I've worked really hard to make it as thorough as possible so that I don't have to explain things over and over again.

1. Be polite, stay friendly, and follow the Gaia TOS. I will not tolerate rude behavior or unnecessary Drama. If you didn't win a flatsale, be courteous to the winners. I favor those that keep a good attitude! IC drama is fine, OOC drama is not. Got it?

2. If you have a problem with someone else in the thread please take it to PM and out of the thread. If you have a problem with me or the way I run this shop, please PM me about it! If I don't know what the problem is, I can't fix it.

3. Spread the joy! You can only own one through flatsale, no more than four total*. All others must be received through other means.

4. These are considered Somewhat-RP intensive pets, by this I mean that you must work them to grow. The requirements are not too complicated in that it is a work at your own pace system. Meaning that if you don't do the work to grow, it stays at whatever stage it is in FOREVER. If I'm going to put work into these, so should you.

5. No Godmoding in RP. Meaning you can't decide another Player's actions, you are not invincible, and you cannot just 'find' a Verlashi pup. You must give other players a chance to respond before you just up and decide something.

6. If you kill your character/verlashi then they are dead. Period. There is no reanimate corpse option. So I suggest you don't kill it off unless you don't want it anymore for some reason.

7. I work at my own pace. I will get grow ups finished, but if you constantly ask me how long it will take than expect it to take even longer. I work best when not under pressure.

8. Feel free to RP in the main thread! In fact I encourage it! Velyrinth, however, is not part of gaia. Gaian pets/children should not be brought in as part of the RP.

9. I reserve the right to adjust the rules as I feel is necessary.

* If I see you can handle more than four I may make an exception to the rule, but I'm talking meeting more than just the bare minimum requirements for each Lashi you own.

[OBTAIN]

Be Active: People who are active in the thread, RP with us, and are willing to stick around and just say 'hi' have a higher chance of receiving a Verlashi. Reasons being is that, yes, I am biased as to giving out freebies. As that is what this would be. Loyalty is rewarded!

Flatsales: Because there is some RP required for this shop flatsales will more than likely be an RP prompt and based on those responses the pups will be distributed. Flatsales will be in a separate thread.

Auctions: If a wild pup is found it will be auctioned, or if a mother can't decide whom it wants the pup to go to. Auctions will more than likely not require and RP prompt, but there will be exceptions if it is part of a metaplot. Auctions will be in a separate thread.

[AVAILABILITY]

None at the moment.

[THE LIVING THINGS]

Verlashi: The size of a Verlashi ranges from a large pony to a large dog. Each Lashi sports a set of three horns on their head, two spikes on their shoulders, and one to three tails. This gives them a high sense of balance, and an ability to both attack and defend. They are a carnivorous species with an advanced pack-like mindset. Alpha Rank is based on skill, and the rank of alpha can be challenged. Packs choose their leaders. Betas are their second in command, and should something happen to an alpha, a beta will take over. Lashi mate for life unless their mate passes away. Then they may take another mate in the future but most do not.

Ramyu: These are the giant cows of the world. Build almost the size on an elephant it takes almost 3-4 verlashi to take one down. They survive solely on the leaves of the Caishya tree, and travel in huge herds from one patch to another. Mothers are extremely possessive of their young and will die trying to protect the calf.

Banshi: The rabbits of Velyrinth. They are small, furry, with big ears and long bodies. Their piercing scream and a row of sharp spines that runs down their back is how they defend themselves from Verlashi and other predators. The Banshi are the pollinators of the Caishya tree, and make the giant root systems their homes. They live off of the leaves of the Caishya tree like the rest of the animals of Velyrinth do. Young Verlashi often hunt them as well in an imitation of their elders.

Caishya Tree:

Kree Beetle: They are about the size of a human hand, and look kind of like a kind of horned beetle. These beetles live inside the Caishya trees in a symbiotic relationship as they live off of the sap of the tree. Krees have a hive mind, with one queen to lead them all and reproduce. Should the queen die a daughter beetle (blue in color) will brilliant out to and become the new queen (green in color). The beetle is harmless so long as one stays clear of the mandibles, which can cause a bone crushing bite. Kree Beetles are prized for their carapace which is used in jewelry, inks, and dyes. Colors of beetles include: common: black, white, brown, gold, and red- uncommon: blue and violet- and rare: green (queen beetles only). Because they do not leave the tree, gathering beetles has always been a careful and difficult procedure.

[HOW DO I JOIN IN?]
Well, anyone can join the RP as a person in the world. Look under Roles to see what you can choose from. You just can't be a rider till you get a Lashi. Make sense? Also opportunities may arise to attempt domestication of Ramyu.

[ROLES]
Open Roles
Miners: These guys are the smiths, the miners, the hard laborers who build just about every structure.

Weavers: This includes everyone who assists in textile production. Skinners, weavers, dyers, seamsters, carpenters, those that keep clothing on your back and your home warm. They make the gause and surgical thread that is used by the healers.

Healers: Midwives, herbalists (of what little there is), healers, surgeons all fall under this category. They keep people alive and healthy.

Culinary: These people are the cooks, caishya gatherers, your agricultural providers for the dome. They help to keep everyone fed.

Various Crafts Unmentioned: If you think of something not listed tell me and I'll either approve, add it to the list, or tell you 'No'. Just talk to me!

Restricted Roles
Lashi Riders: The providers and protectors of the dome. Lashi riders bond to thier Verlashi and obviously only those that own Lashi can become Lashi riders. Bonding to a Verlashi means that one tends to take on some of the habits of thier Lashi. Verlashi are pack animals, therefore you will often find Pack Riders living in close proximity to eachother. Lashi are territorial and the fallen domes (whichever their rider makes thier home) and the surrounding area is thier territory. Lashi Riders will protect and provide for it.

Dream Speaker (shaman-like): This role is restricted to staff only unless permission is granted. Dream Speakers are the religious leaders of the outcasts that call the Domes thier home. Only those born on the outside have the ability to become a Dream Speaker. These souls are constantly living in a dream, even when the real world goes on around them they go where the dreams take them. They speak and manipulate those around them through dreams. They are niether good nor evil, but are the carriers of whatever dream holds them in the moment. Dreamspeakers will seek out those that they feel call them and leave when they have accomplished whatever they were there for. Dreamspeakers tend to be nomadic and rarely make any dome thier home.

Loreteller: This role is restricted to those that recive permission. You must write 3 teachings and have them approved to be given this role. Loretellers are the teachers of the fallen domes. They are the ones who educate the children and those new to the life of an outcast. They retain the history of the society, both that of how people came to be to how the outcasts came together to survive. It's an extreamly important role.

Scientists: This role is ristricted to staff only unless permission is granted. These people are the deveopers of new additions to the dome. They use the knowledge that they gained in the previous domes to make life more bareable in the fallen domes. Technological adaptations as well as biological ones. There are only a few scentists that have become part of the outcast society. Most scientists are loyal to thier domes, and once they find themselves outsiders they no longer have the equipment that thier skills require. Adaptation is the key to being an outcast scientist and surviving.

Pack Layout
Alpha Riders: The leaders of the pack and the dome, when it comes to the final decision they make it. A person becomes an Alpha Rider when they form a pack of thier own and their Verlashi stands as alpha. Both male and female Lashi's can become alphas. It isn't a gender biased role, but a skill biased one. Alphas are generally strong mentally as well as physically and are willing to take neccessary risks for the greater good. The good of the pack comes over that of the individual, the good of the dome comes over the good of the pack.
Min: 3 hunts, 3 training sessions

Beta Riders: Two Beta Riders to every Alpha is the standard. Smaller packs may have less. Betas are chosen by the alphas that leads the pack, each Alpha may choose up to 2 beta riders. These riders are normally extreamly close friends or those that have earned the respect that should be given to a Beta Rider. Making sure that the pack follows the orders of thier Alpha is the responsibility of the Beta. They are the ones who step up when an Alpha is injured and unable to complete thier duties, they are also the ones who step down whent he Alpha regains thier ability to lead. Beta Riders may stay with a pack for a lifetime, or eventually form an allied pack. Support those that lead, and lead when neccessity demands it.
Min: 3 hunt, 2 training session (chosen by alpha)

Stormrunner: Stormrunners act as scouts in the pack. They are the first to sight a blizzard or herd of Ramyu. Speed and keen sight are essential to those ranking as Stormrunner. Where the main pack dives through the center to thier prey, the Stormrunners keep the Ramyu together by driving inward, leaving no escape for the Ramyu. Lashi Riders that rank as Stormrunners run higher risks of being harmed by the large horns of a Ramyu thus they must be as quick mentally during a hunt as thier Lashi is while running. Watch the skies, run the wind, and keep aware for everyone's safety.
Min: 2 hunts, 2 training sessions

Healer: Healers are the ones who will tend to the injured on the field. The Lashi who will pull the injured packmate to safety during a hunt. They are the ones who carry the injured back home if neccessary, be it rider or Lashi. During hunts they keep an eye out for the safety of the pack, be it thin ice or horns of a Ramyu. Leave none behind, be they living or dying. We shall watch over them.
Min: 2 hunts, 2 training sessions

Caretaker: These are the ones who watch over the young. They care for them while the parents are away, and teach them what they can. They know a bit of healing and a bit of hunting, but specialize in teaching and careing for the infants and young Lashi. Keen sight, sharp imagination and acute awareness is the key of this rank. Hush now little one and I'll tell you a tale of many a winter past.
Min: 1 hunt, 1 training sessions, 2 tales or games written and shared.

Lashi Rider: The majority of the members of the pack fall under this rank. The force of the pack lies with it's members. They take down the kills and work to protect the others. Though they have no special ranking they are as important if not more than the ranked members. Follow commands, bring in the kill, and rejoice when all is well.
Min: 1 hunt, 1 traning session

Elder Lashi Rider: Rank of elder is only achieved when both the Lashi and the rider have survived 50 seasons. These riders are the most respected, and though some of them do not hunt anylonger, they teach the young, and are looked to for advice and council. It is rare that any pack have and elder, and should there be elders in a pack they usually are few in number. Teach and council, maybe they will learn.
Min: 5 hunts, 3 training sessions + 1 session taught

[GROWTH]

Each Verlashi is entirely unique except for the pup stage. This is the bare minimum requirement for growth.

Pup to Juvenile
- 2 rider journal entries or 2 RP sessions to be logged in your journal

Juvenile to Adolescent
- 1 group training session
- 2 rider journal entries
- 1 RP session

Adolescent to Adult
- 1 hunt
- 3 rider journal entries
- 2 RP sessions

Adult to Ranked
(Alpha, Stormrunner, Caretaker, Healer only (Betas are chosen by their alphas))
- hunts/training as required of the specific rank
- 3 rider journal entries
- 2 RP sessions
- Be accepted as a ranked part of a pack/ gather members to start your own pack.

(insert growth form here)

[How to Receive Rank]

To hold rank you must at least meet the skill level (minimum hunts or training sessions) for the rank you are trying to hold. Different ranks have different requirements so be sure to know the rank you are attempting (see roles for requirements).

For ranks of a Stormrunner, Caretaker, or Healer: meet the growth requirement, the skill level required of those ranks, and have that skill recognized by the rest of the pack you are attempting rank in. This path requires you to get the approval of at least one more member than half the total pack members and one must be an alpha. Meaning if there was a pack of 6 then you would need at least 4 people (and one of those must be an alpha) to accept you for that rank. To do this ask the pack members to send me this form:

Your Rider Name:
Your Position:
Rider requesting a position:
Position Requested:
Approval: Yes or No (choose one, if no give reason)

To start your own pack/become an alpha: meet the qualifications to grow, and recruit at least 3 Lashi Riders to follow your rider. Please send this form to me (may add additional riders as needed):

Your Rider Name:
Your Rank:

Rider Following You:
Rider rank:

Rider Following You:

[TRAINING & HUNTING]

Training Sessions
What they are: Traning sessions are basically that, your rider is training it's Lashi the skills it needs to become the hunters they are. Skills learned in training sessions include, but are not limited to, the basics of hunting & the dangers of, verbal & silent commands, first aid, tack creation & care, wildlife studies, and survival skills.

How it is done: This is basically an organized group RP session with a mini quiz to see what you picked up ^_~ Don't worry you can't fail or anything like that. It is up to you to participate and to fill out the questionaire at the end of the session and PM it back to me. It will be over things that the instrutor will cover in the RP session. If enough people are participating, a posting order may be established to make things run a bit smoother.

How to participate: Every two weeks to once a month (depending on when I'm available) I will post a date for the training session. It is up to you to PM me and let me know that you would like to sign up and participate. Please note, that if no one signs up prior to participation entries closing the session will be canceled. If you're not going to be there, I'm not going to be there, got it? Good! ^__^

What you recieve: Besides meeting a requirement for growth your Lashi, you can also recieve items based on the answers to your questionaire (everyone will recieve an item so long as they put an answer every question).

Hunting Sessions
What they are: You are hunting to provide for your pack and your dome, as well as prove yourself as a useful member of the pack. They are scavenger hunts on a large scale for the various creatures of the planet.

How it is done: Throughout the various threads that belong to this shop I will post images of Ramyu and Banshi. In a hunt everyone works together as a team to find the scattered creatures.

It takes one Lashi to take down a Banshi, so it's first come first serve on who PM's me the link first. Ramyu take at least 3-4 Lashi to take it down, so the first 3-4 people who find and send me the link take that kill. Once all the creatures have been found by the correct number of people I will post the results of the kill.

If you wish to get together with a few friends to do this you can, it is better to work in teams (one person takes the guilds, another person takes the main thread, etc.) and then share the links over an instant messanger.

How to participate: Every two weeks to two months (depending on when I'm available and how many people who need a hunt there are) I will post a date for a hunt. It is up to you to PM me and let me know that you would like to sign up to participate.

What you receive: You can meet the requirements for growth or for a rank.

[FAQ]

Q. Are these RP intensive?
A. Yes, if I have to put work into drawing them, you have to put work into making them get there.

Q. What about Verlashi from the previous shop? Can I use them to form a pack? What about the Godlashi?
A. This shop will not acknowledge any old Verlashi, unless they have been recreated (ie. redrawn) in the new style. Also the Godlashi do not exsist in this realm, they were created for the old shop and only for that shop. If you want you can have them recreated, but they will not be Godlashi anymore and will not have the same appearance.

Q. So how do I get my old Verlashi redrawn?
A. I will only allow each person only 1 old verlashi to be redrawn, it will count towards your total Verlashi count, & may be slightly different in color (I will try to get it right on, but no promises). Yes it does cost to get done, you must have the old cert, and no I won't wave the fee. I wanted to start from scratch with this new shop and therefore am reluctant to introduce any of the old Verlashi. The fee is 150k in gold/donation items/letters (or other private arrangement - such as pet trade- PM to inquire).

Name:
Gender:
Age:
Rank:

Q. So what is the deal with my old Lashi if I don't get it redrawn?
A. As far as the old Lashi storyline goes, they were a seprate species that developed on Gaia and have no connection to the Lashi on Velyrinth. So don't bring them into the storyline unless you get them recreated. Also if you have your Lashi interacting with people on Gaia, don't get them redrawn. If you do then they will no longer exsist on Gaia.
