Hopeland News Cover Story: Summary of Recent Events

 This is an Official Banner to the Spirit Week Thread.
Recently shown on the Community Spotlight, the Gaia Spirit Week is all about coming together to be
spontaneous and creative. Gaians are encouraged to take part by dressing up like a rainbow, a whore,
or in your "class color"! Please try to participate, it's a fun way to get closer to your fellow Gaians!
The 6th Annual Gaia Ball starts only this Saturday! According to Gaia's Community Spotlight, some "very intrepid and motivated Gaians have been working very hard to get this event off the ground", and hopefully we'll be seeing tons of Hopelanders at the Ball! Remember to have fun and stay positive, healthy, and beautiful!
The 6th Annual Gaia Ball will be from Saturday, July 12th until Monday, the 14th. There will be themed rooms so you can wear a variety of outfits (is it just me, or does this sound kind of Halloween-y to you?) or simply choose the theme you love best, and have fun with it! Of course, you will be forgiven your horrible sin of only wearing your Gaia Spirit Week outfit half the day if you decide on a beautiful ball gown or stunning tuxedo instead.

He is here to inform us on Gaian Items, the state of the Gaian Economy, and maybe even entertain us a little.

Gaiaonline has many items for your avatar. Some are clothes and accessories, others are armor and weapons, and others still are backgrounds and creatures. Then evolving items came. These items shifted through different stages that were thrilling and always left you on the edge of your seat, waiting for the next surprise. However, when Gaia came out with it’s first ever active item it brought out a new curiosity in Gaians.
The Faunzy Flute
(The Active Item which must be purchased.)
Unsightly Body Hair
(Gained from a Draw / Lose round with Faunzy.)
Faun Legs
(Gained from defeating Faunzy 10 times.)If you cannot beat him 10 times, you can win these horns
from playing levels 1-9 of Rock, Paper, Scissors with Faunzy.
        
Faunzy’s Flute is the first active item created by Gaiaonline. This item doesn’t glow, transform, or explode like the evolving items, but don’t be fooled! There is more to this item than simply being an old-fashioned Panpipe. When equipped they will not only look awesome, but summon Faunzy. This new Gaian character is based off of a Greek Mythology Satyr. Faunzy will challenge you to an honorable match of rock, paper, scissors. At this point you may be thinking,
“Why would I want to play a game of rock paper scissors when I could be doing something useful, like taking over the world?” Because of the fabulous prizes that await your victory, of course! When you equip the flute, Faunzy will challenge you through a PM. If you win the first round you will have the option to accept the first item or move on to the next level. (*See pictures of prizes.) Each level gives you better items, and if you lose any round you will be given… body hair, but don’t worry as it comes in assorted colors. If you draw you will have the option to either accept the item you would’ve gotten from the round before or to play the round again. You can only play one round every Twenty Four hours. Sounds pretty fun, but all great inventions do have their flaws.
When the Flute was first released, it had many glitches. One of the main glitches allowed the owner to just keep clicking on the PM and keep playing over and over again to get more prizes in the same day, instead of once every 24 hours. This glitch was taken care of but there are still more minor glitches to be found, as is true with most new items.
So, after many years of items being released on Gaiaonline; from regular T-shirts, to giant changing items, Gaia has now created an item that itself is interactive, has a point other than to "look pretty", and provides you with more items... provided your luck is good. The Faunzy flute is a great new addition to Gaiaonline that will forever go down as the first active item to see the light of day… or at least the internet.
