The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky; The recepie of a perfect day.
Hardly.
The sun was at its peak, the air was thick and muggy without any form of a breeze. Not only was there no wind, but it looked as if there wasn't going to be any source of water as far as the eye could see. What started off as an aimless morning stroll turned into the walk from hell for Dama, chocolate femme dragging herself forward at a terribly slow pace. Head hung low, a grumble could be heard from deep in her throat as she continued to trudge on, tired and in need of some SHADE. "Is that too much to ask for? HUH?!" Clearly, this normally loving female was not in that great of a mood on this occasion.
Ruby eyes lit up as a tall dark structure shot up in the near distance and Damalis could hardly believe what she was seeing. Could it really be... A TREE? Without a second thought, the wild dog was off, racing towards the huge leafy tree that was just screaming, 'come lay in my shade!'
But in a blink, it was gone. A mirage. Great.

Kucha'Kivuli was use to the heat, for he lived in this land for a while now. He walked carefully watching his step. He didn't want to trip over something. The day seemed to be great for him. Even though his fur was black, he had never really been in a area that was cold, or at least cooler then this. During the winter, he normally went somewhere that was warm, so he wouldn't have to deal with any cold weather.
His mind was racing, had only been told a few days ago that he was going to be a father. Him? Father? It seemed almost impossible. Him and his newly found mate, Kisura, had only just started life, and now it had gotten better. He had a odd grin upon his face, and he was forgetting that he shouldn't be watching his feet, but watching the horizon, for there was another wild dog with in the area. Her faint voice didn't even take him from his thoughts. But for now, she was still slightly far away. But to where they could see eachother, if one were to happen to look up.

Dama stopped in her tracks as the tree disappeard right before her eyes, mouth hanging open. Heart sunk as she stood in the middle of no where without any direction to head in. Audits pressed against her head as she looked across the bland horizon, attention landing on a distant black figure. Brow raised as she stared at the 'mirage' and she would shake her head, annoyed.
Completely convinced that this creature would poof away like the tree had, Dama started in the direction of the male. "Well hello there!" She called out, tone dripping with sarcasm. "How about you? ARE YOU REAL? HUH?" Pace quickened, without something stopping her, this girl was on a mission to walk right through this mirage. The sun had truely begun to mess with her head.

Something finally drove him out of his own thoughts. Startled he looked around and saw a brown female heading straight for him. Was she going to attack him? What'd he ever do to her? He didn't hear exactly what he said, but maybe she didn't even see him. "Woah... I don't think we need anyone running into anyone." He kind of yelled back moving out of the way that he thought she might go.
He really didn't feel like getting trampled today. Or any day for that matter. If he did, he'd leave it up to the elephants to do it. At least he'd die fast if they did it right.

Mmm, a talking mirage... That is most certainly different. "Not like--" Speach was cut of as she blinked, noticing that the figure had gone from her view. Not thinking to look a little to the left, Dama believed the poor creature had decieved her yet again. "Yeah sure, dissapear. See if I care." In the process of turning around however, eyes caught sight of the black male again. Femme shook her head sadly, surprised at herself for acting so foolish. Stupid heat. "You look so real..."
Padding forward slowly, ruby gaze focused on the closer details of the stranger and her heart began to drop. "Wait. You are real, aren't you?"

He raised a brow. "I... didn't disappear.. I don't think I can do that" He spoke as she asked if he was real. "Well, I would certainly hope so. I feel real" He said with a chuckle. He wasn't sure why the female was acting the way she was. Maybe she need something to drink. Though the watering hole wasn't as close as he would like it to be.
"Are... you ok. Miss?" He asked her, hoping it wasn't a bad case of dehydration, or something along the lines. He wasn't sure what to do if it was the case. He looked around and there really wasn't any shade out here, nor any place to keep cool.

Damalis was utterly embarassed, finding herself suddenly speachless. "I..." Large ears pressed against her skull and her tail dropped as she dipped her head in respect. What a terrible first impression. "Many appologies, friend." Femme couldn't meet his gaze, head still hanging low and staring down at her feet.
"I suppose I've been out for a little too long this afternoon. It's not normal for me to be traveling for so long on a day like this." Dama finally looked up to scowl in the direction of the sun before flashing the male a sheepish grin. "I'm Damalis, the lost and disoriented." She said with a light chuckle. "I'm sorry if I've confused you at all."

" There is no need for an Apology." He said with a smile wondering why she was acting like that. He wasn't some king or something. It'd be too much responsibility he'd think. Having to keep track of everyone, and having to keep the place save. Maybe one day he'd rule an area, but not for awhile.
He nodded his head, even if she wasn't looking at him. "yeah, today is a bit of a scorcher. " he said not really looking up at the sky, but imitating something she did. It wasn't really that bad, but if one wasn't use to it, he thought it might actually be horrible. "I'm Kucha'Kivuli. But you can call me Kucha, or 'Kivuli." he said with a smile. "No no, it's alright, No need for apologizes still." He said with another chuckle.

As much as this dog wanted to regain her pride and fix this less than perfect impression, Dama had little energy keeping her going let alone carry on a decent conversation. Feeling as if her will to stay standing was slowly draining away and into the sand, chocolate femme sat back on her haunches and sighed deeply with another shake of her head. "Might I ask if you know this territory well?" She would ask without breaking her steady and expressionless gaze into the distance. "I was looking for water, or shade." Yes, shade would be very nice. Oh how she missed shade and all its cool and relaxing glory.
Brow raised, Damalis bearly nodded her heavy head before returning her attention to the concerned sounding male. "Kucha'Kivuli, how peculiar... Well it's a pleasure, my friend."

"I would say I know them ok, not everything about this place, but fairly enough to get around." He said. He noticed she was very tired and probably didn't want any type of conversation but a way out of these lands. "There's not water for another couple miles from here, I'm afraid. " He said to her. "But shade is a bit closer, there's a few more trees back this way, not many, but not far either." He said with a nod. Wasn't much else he could really say.

Damalis looked in the way in which he directed her in, toward the trees which she had to squint to even attempt to see. "Yes, shade will work. Thank you, kind Kucha'Kivuli." Femme offered him a brief nod before beginning to pad slowly toward rest and relief at last. She didn't make it too far before gazing back at the dark male and flashing him a quick grin. "Until we meet again, my friend." And with that, she picked up the pace into a steady lope... That is until she managed to stumble over a rather small rock.
Bad day. Definitely a bad day.

He nodded back at her with a smile. "Yeah, if you need anything when your still in these area's just call out my name. Chances are I'll be around." He said with another nod. He watched her walk off. Then he watched her stumble over a rock, and quickly went to her aid. "Are you alright? Need help?" He asked as he got closer to where she was. It wasn't like she was too much farther then him. But she looked like she could sue some help.

Picking herself back up, Dama sighed as nothing on earth could ever make this embarrassing situation any better. Poor guy must think she was absolutely crazy. "Ugh. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll be fine." Thankfully for her, the rock she tripped over was extremely small and she began to wonder how it was even possible to fall over it in the first place.
Unable to deal with the humiliation much longer or even meet his gaze, she would shake herself off and turn in the other direction. "I'll be on my way now, thanks for the help." And she was back off, back to her usual pace and toward the shade on the horizon.

" You sure now? cause I can help if you need it." He said to her. But she seemed to not want to just stick around and chat. Which was understandable. He knew if he was the one that tripped he wouldn't exactly be thrilled with the matter. Though he'd probably just laugh and sit there for a moment thinking on how, and where he had tripped. As well as what made him trip.
He watched her walk, not really wanting to follow after her if she didn't want to be bothered. It wasn't really something he did, he wasn't the annoying type. Or at least, he didn't try to be.
