Sasuke had preoccupied himself lately with watching over the "ninja in training". Ever since the encounter with the kalona he had interested himself to fully watch over her and train while Naruto was off on his little trip. It was kind of boring really without the moron to tease and fight with, so the proud ninja kept himself busy. But just because he was training this filly didn't mean he took easy direction with her either. If she wanted to become the best of her class she'd have to work for it. Straight forward with an icy cold temperament he scolded and guided her through various teachings. Standing tall with his ears perked forward he waited for her to arrive for their first kunai throwing session. She definitely was taking after Naruto for her attitude wasn't where it should of been. He'd definitely have to scold her for that one before it became more of an issue.
Kunai had overslept this morning of all mornings knowing Sasuke was left waiting for her arrival. Skidding out from the clearing she bolted running with the colorful pack in her mouth containing her kunai knives and other things she needed to train. Running akwardly she sprinted toward the mountains near a grove of thick trees that was the destined spot Sasuke had chosen out of view from any onlookers. The last thing the angeni wanted was other creatures gawking like a bunch of hootowls at his teachings.
Huff Huff. "Ah Sensei so sorrry I overslept this morning. But I'm here now are we training?" she looked at him with a brightness in those deep red eyes hoping he wasn't too angry with her.
Sasuke narrowed his eyes with a snort, "Taking after Uzumaki are we? Heh I'll break you of that real fast. Oversleeping or not you're late Kunai." he stared long and hard never losing her blue coat in those cold black orbs of his.
"Sensei Sasuke I really am sorry. Let's start training so I can learn how to be a better ninja. I'm ready ..." she pleaded with her eyes knowing he wasn't going to let her ride easy on this mistake.
Sasuke swished his long silken tail as he closed his eyes, his head firm and upright, "Yeah we'll start in a moment... but before I forget.."
Kunai stood with drooping shoulders. That's right he never fully lectured me on that day with that nasty foal. Oh crap...
Sasuke smirked at her before he became serious, "You know why that foal nearly ate you Kunai? Tell me..."
Essentially the filly's training had begun before she realized it. For listening to her teacher was top priority. You had to become numb to criticism and hurtful encounters to truly become a shinobi like Kunai dreamed of being.

Kunai sighed for she knew it was going to rear its ugly head sooner or later as a snake strikes outward at its unsuspecting prey. "Because I was too careless and thought I could take him on?" she groaned lowering her eyes.
"Exactly. Wow you are smarter then you look. That's promise right there."
How did Naruto tolerate Sasuke she wondered. Honestly the Uchiha angeni was downright cruel and mean sometimes. "Yes Sensei. I should have been more careful and not made myself visible right?"
Sasuke huffed shaking his head that vibrated toward his withers, "Well think of it this way. What if that were oh say a full grown kalona or worse yet a skinwalker you opened yourself vulnerable to. What would you have done if I wasn't there to get your a** out of trouble Kunai? Tell me..."
Kunai felt herself willing to cry for her teacher was being so rude to her, but she blinked back any tears that may of surfaced. "I would have died Sensei because I did what I wasn't supposed to."
Sasuke narrowed his eyes as he began pacing around her, his movement cold and direct as his words, "You're damn right that would have happened. And I'll be damned if I would hear that Dobe wailing lil Kunai got her a** handed to her either. So now you know not what to do later when you're older.. got it runt?"
Kunai choked for he still was calling her that.. that word she hated. Runt. She was a baby a filly not even ready to breath her adult breath. Why did he have to rub it in so harshly and remind her just how little she was for crying out loud. "Yes Sasuke Sensei. I know what I did wrong and it won't happen again. I promise."
Sasuke nodded with a grunt, "Good I'll be watching you in the progress. I think we had enough lecturing lets start your training already before we lose more of the day. Go get your weapon and stand before me when you're ready to begin." He would have kept at his vigil in berating and showing her so much fault, but he himself knew the pain it caused from his childhood. Always being pushed to be the best he stumbled and faltered till he excelled.
Kunai blinked and nodded scurrying toward her colorful pack blinking away that stubborn tear that finally revealed itself. Picking up her cherished Kunai in her mouth she trotted over skidding to a halt. "Ready Sasuke sensei... May we begin now?"

Sasuke noted how she was hurt by his harsh tone.. but he admitted she was a strong putting up with him. Getting down to business he gripped a kunai in his mouth and waited for her to pay attention. "The first thing you need to remember when handling this is precision. If you just throw it or try and cut like your head is up your a** then you'll die for sure. Keep focused and don't loose your head when you're up against something," he turned to face the tree nearest him with a nod of his head, "Now watch..."
Kunai gripped her own weapon strongly between her teeth. She knew her sensei had much more practice and his strength was unmatched - except Naruto's of course. But she'd never infuriate her teacher by making a wise a** remark like that either. Bringing up the blond rival she had learned was like stepping upon sharp stones that clung to your hoof in a nasty sort of way. Nodding to him she gazed intently learning how she could improve her skills and master her art.
Sasuke stood rigid and glared straight at that tree as if it were dangerous. Snorting he breathed deeply and flung his head out so lightning fast the blade was already embedded within the tree. Smirking in his superiority he turned to face his student. "Now lets see your version. You better have been watching...Kunai." Who the hell names their kid after a weapon she's going to master anyway. Parents must be real winners... Heh bet they take after Naruto. Bah Dobe you picked a good time to just head out.. Pathetic loser.. Heh whatever.
Kunai stared down the same tree her eyes glistening with that familiar red Sasuke was sure he knew quite well. Placing her feet in a tight position as she balanced herself she brought her head back and released. Not only did it not go very far, but it rang off a neighboring stone clinking as it bounced to the ground. Frowning she was sure she followed his movements, actions, and overall routine. But, it wasn't the same proving she had failed miserably in her first kunai throwing session.
Sasuke rolled his eyes, patience in others was never his strong suit. But she did try much like he did learning his Katon Gokakyo no Jutsu back when he was a child. What she needed was practice and a lot of it. "You need to focus more but you're not doing that badly either." Okay Kunai yeah that was weak but hopefully you won't suck all your life. Damn you worse than Naruto? That's unheard of. You out do him someday just for me. The thoughts Sasuke heard mentally made him smirk for such insults, but hey that's what he was good for.
Kunai nodded standing rigid though a bit off balance. How would she ever learn to become stronger if she couldn't do as her Sensei asked she worried.
Sasuke stepped over next to her blowing out in deep breaths. "Hold your head up higher and don't stand like you had a snake crawl up your side. Feel your strength but don't become so tense you can't move." Nudging her to change her weight he bumped her head with his muzzle. "Now bring your head up and stare down that tree. Hold that thought of nailing it but don't throw till you're absolutely ready. Now try again." His deep set eyes focused on her now more then ever, a single wing brushing her side as he waited. She'd need a lot of time to master this... but was it really a problem when he himself was basically bored without anyone to insult or pick with.

Kunai stood straight as her Sensei had directed her to with that single kunai gripped in her mouth. Bring my head up and stare down the tree... I can do this.. I will Sensei... Nodding she did as he asked and whipped her head forward releasing the knife as it swirled through the air and bounced off the tree. Frowning she sighed and went to retrieve the weapon once more.
Sasuke stood in his cool manner with iced eyes keeping a vigil over her. Yes he knew Naruto would scold him for being such an a**, but he was teaching her how to deal with what life dished out. So the little Dobe could stuff it for all he cared - not like he was coming back to stick around anytime soon. Idiot. Bringing his thoughts back to Kunai he snorted. "More force and power in your throw. Think power and strength and it will come to you. Try again."
Kunai nodded blinking back tears, she wanted nothing more then to make her Sensei proud of her even if he was being a bit cruel forcing her to keep pushing. Closing her eyes she stood upright with her body focused and rigid as she stared down that tree. Let's try this again... I can do this I know I can... Taking a deep breath she raised her head for momentum then swung forward with all her might. Releasing the knife she let it carry it's course. Watching it with bated breath it flew toward the tree and embedded slightly before it fell out. Opening her eyes she smiled turning back to her Sensei for support, "I saw it... It stayed in for a little bit I know it did... I"
"Yeah it did... but it wasn't hard enough either. Keep pushing and you'll get it right eventually." His expression was so cold as he looked down upon Kunai knowing she had more inside her then she knew herself. He would keep on her till she finally got that kunai in its rightful place. In the heat of an attack she couldn't miscalculate, she had to fight or die trying. Her training was proof she was learning the hard way in Sasuke's direct commands. It was strange really that even though he was cold and heartless he was opening his heart to oversee a young Nin in training.

...He was back!
Uzumaki Naruto had gone on a short, personal training trip in order to better himself, leaving Kunai in Sasuke's care as he did so. Despite knowing that Sasuke would probably train her well, he had come back sooner than expected (as usual) because he was worried about Kunai. Sasuke could take care of himself, but Kunai, being the small filly that she was, couldn't exactly take care of herself in Sasuke's care. The Uchiha was a cold, demanding person, but he was a softie on the inside... if you could get to him, that is.
Soon, his sharp ears heard the familiar sounds of Sasuke and Kunai; with a broad grin, he slowed his eager pace so that as he walked he didn't make a sound. Kyuubi, who was riding on his back looking out for anyone who might sneak up on them, made an odd noise, but Naruto only assumed it was a noise of amusement. Kyuubi was always like that, but that was fine... Naruto had had to live with Kyuubi all his life, so it wasn't like Naruto wasn't used to Kyuubi's nature or anything.
As he approached the chosen training grounds, he tensed angrily as he stared at Kunai's suffering nature. All at once the overwhelming need to comfort her and tell Sasuke off came over him, and for a minute or two Naruto struggled to maintain his calm, all the while mixed emotions of angry, worry, and exasperation fought themselves willy-nilly within him. Finally, because he was Naruto, he burst out with an infuriated shout.
"SASUKE!"

Kunai was nearly in tears the more she tried causing herself to falter more. No Nooooooooo... concentrate... you need to focus and make Sasuke Sensei proud.. just... like.. daddy. She sniffed up those crystallize drops blinking them further away. There was no reason for disappointment and she wanted no part of it. Narrowing those deep red eyes the filly concentrated even more almost with an intense motion. Taking a deep breath she clenched that weapon with more force then she had before. Taking all she had her head whipped forward releasing the blade as it slammed into the tree sticking there. Blinking a few stray tears away she let a breath of relief for it did not waver nor break loose... it was permanent. A new found confidence had seeped into her timid soul, one of defiance to the fates wishing her to fail. "Sensei... I did it... I really did this time." She chirped with a smile wider then no other.
Sasuke couldn't believe it, for she really did stick that kunai with precision and clarity. That filly was something else... she truly was amazing for her size and determination. Something he saw in himself and even Naruto when they were learning to become who they were now.
~Where is he? Damnit he's not in view and I can't get those bells. I need to get past you Kakashi. Only way to get stronger to defeat my brother. Looking around from his hiding place he grasped his kunai and shuriken quickly while the idiot derived the attention. Perfect. Now is my chance. Throwing his kunai they swarmed inward and... He finally dropped his guard! Huh?.... He read his moves... Damnit he had to get stronger and prove he could achieve his goals...~
"Yeah you got it... but I expect to see you... What the hell?! When did you get back b*****d?" his eyes narrowed seeing that blond menace that somehow he couldn't loose sight of no matter how much he tried. Hell he even begged the naive colt to join him back in the training grounds. Seriously what was going on in Sasuke's head since he stepped in this land he wondered. Had he truly lost his mind submitting.. no hanging out with someone that couldn't best him in tossing apples.
Kunai trotted over to retrieve her knife from the tree perking her ears at Naruto, "Naruto Sensei! Welcome back! I did it! I got it stuck in the tree! Did you see? I'm becoming a great ninja!" she beamed and stood proudly finally dislodging her precious knife that glinted in the sunlight.
"Yeah you got it right... but that doesn't make you a great Ninja runt... long way to go as we just started. Naruto make yourself useful and join in here already." He snorted and nudged Kunai, "Do it again..."
