Sauda was happier then ever, now her and Tsotsi had a nice little area. Two huge rocks together, leaving a bit enough rock den for three or four hyenas. She had filled the bottom with freshly dried grass to keep the ground from stealing their warmth. As well as the place had a nice area to stick a deer when bringing in dinner.
She was happy today, more then most days. Mostly because she had told Letladika where she was. Though, didn't say anything about Tsotsi yet. It wasn't like he'd be too upset that she adopted a lost pup. Plus, they were only friends, even if she couldn't get him out of her head, and she was wanting them to be more then friends. She wagged her tail as she paced back and forth out side the entrance to the den.
She wasn't sure if Tsotsi was still a sleep or if he was a wake by now, but no matter. She hadn't told Tsotsi about who was coming either. He'd find out the moment Letladika came. She hoped they'd like each other. She was trying to be a good mom, but she didn't really know how to be. She wagged her tail, stopped for a moment to take a look around, then went back to pacing.

Tsotsi sighed and rolled over in his bed space, flicking his tail slowly as he slept. A quirky smile played on his face as he dreamed. The soothing scent of dry grass and Sauda wafted around him and he slept in peace; for the first time in a long time. Finally, the strange feelings of contentment and safety were becoming familiar to him. He no longer had to run, hide, or be subjected to his past family's cruelty. It was only him and Sauda now. Sauda, the nice female who had taken him in. Sauda, the only living creature he would admit was his friend.
Tsotsi rolled over again and the glint of sunlight shone down in his eyes. He inhaled a deep breath of awakening and flicked his ears up. He stretched his limbs, cracking his toe joints and yawned. "Sauda?" he called sleepily. He waited to hear her reply, but none came. Tsotsi opened his red eyes and blinked. "Sauda...?" he mumbled. Then, he waited.

You might say Letladika was curious of Sauda's invitation to her home. Yet if you saw him, his entire body looked like it was radiating. He was excited to finally know where Sauda lived, for some odd reason, and Letladika never enjoyed finding out where someone lived. He just... didn't. For odd reasons. Sauda was the complete opposite of that feeling, and that's why the bubbly hyena had accepted. Though when she had asked him, he heard a bit of 'hinting' in her voice. What could she be getting at? If she was getting at THAT. Um. Hello. Er.
Bad thoughts. Very bad thoughts. Ew. Help. Distractions. NEEDED.
He wasn't paying attention to where he was going, so instead of 'keep going forward', he felt pain. Um what? Pain, that wasn't normal. Why had everything gone black while he spaced? That's not normal? RIGHT? Letladika had gone a tad bit insane while he was away from Sauda. It didn't help that his thoughts were only on her so now he found himself running into things more often. He hoped he wasn't going complete crazy. Hey, crazy hyena + someone else = more crazy?
Letladika wondered.... He didn't exactly realize that the rock he had met muzzle first was one of the rocks Sauda was currently inhabiting in. The male was helpless, wasn't he? This (could be) what happened when someone is left alone without that person for too long. They'd go insane. Seriously.
Or not? What? He was seriously going insane with all the questions that consumed his helpless little mind.

Sauda heard something inside which must mean that Tsotsi was awake. Then he said her name a bit louder. Without realizing that Letladika was walking straight at her, she quickly went in to check on the black pup. She didn't want him to be frightened if she didn't come. "Tsotsi, are you alright?" She asked as she entered the den looking around for him. Of course, it wasn't hard to find him since he was still in the same area that she had left him a hour ago.
"Someone's coming over." She said with a smile, and then a thump was heard from outside. What could that have been? She quickly turned her head towards the entrance. Her fur on her back sticking up just in case it was something dangerous, but it could also be Letladika. Her tail wanted to wag, but she tried to make it so it wouldn't..
Edging closer to the opening of the den, she decided to speak. "Who... who's there?" She asked Hoping it was who she thought it was rather then some mean creature that might try to threaten her and Tsotsi. Sauda's pink eyes were wide and watching the entrance like a hawk would watch its pray before striking.

Tsotsi wagged his tail and stood at the sight of Sauda. He was glad to see her, but what had taken her so long? Something was on her mind. It was like she was hiding something. "I'm doin' good." Tsotsi said stiffly, yawning. It took his ears a minute to register what she said after that: Someone was coming over?
Before he had time to object, he heard a "thump". Ears standing tall, he made his way next to Sauda. The sight of the fur on her back rising caused Tsotsi's heart to pound. He tried to calm himself. He'd been in situations like that before, many, many times. Calmly, Tsotsi closed his eyes and took a deep whiff of air. His eyes snapped open wide at what he smelled: male hyena. He curled his lip to show his fangs and jumped in front of Sauda, ready to protect her with his life. "Whoever's out there, YOU'D BETTER SPEAK UP!" he snarled. He wasn't about to let another female he liked get hurt again.

Letladika wasn't one to always answer other animal's questioning voices, and he was confused at the light voice -- which he knew was Sauda's -- and the protective voice of another... Male hyena? Hey. MALE? That was normal, right? He must be going insane, that voice had to be inside his head. But it sounded clearly alive and real in his ears. Letladika did actually note how young this male's voice sounded, as he was starting to think that Sauda might possibly... Oh no, another heartbreak.
Ears flattened against his skull, he stepped forward, peeking his head around a corner of rocks. At first he noticed just Sauda, her black pelt easily seen around the tan Terran. He wasn't exactly close to spotting the young pup near her feet, and all Letladika saw WAS her. He stepped froward, a smile on his face. So what was this surpri----
He looked down.
Saw a black pup, white hugging his lower back, like a belt. He had red eyes, and look absolutely vicious. Um, was this pup her's? She didn't seem heavy with... um, pups.
Letladika tried to not look hurt, yet his eyes were always easy to see. "Um, hey Sauda, and... Who is this?"

She smiled and relaxed as she saw his face. "LETLADIKA!" She said almost too loud. was mostly cause she was afraid it was someone else, and seeing him made her feel so relieved. She almost didn't hear his question about the pup next to him. Tsotsi, he was so protective, it seemed for the moment. Such a great little guy.
Then once his voice carried threw her ears again she smiled more then happy to introduce each other. "Tsotsi, this is Letladika." She started. "Letladika, this is Tsotsi. " She wasn't quite done yet since Letladika had a very horrified questionable look upon his face. "He didn't have any parents, so I took him in." She added just so he knew she didn't have a kid before she met him.
She never did get into her family life with him, so it would totally surprise him if she did have kids. She wagged her tail, hoping they both weren't mad at her. "Tsotsi, Letladika is a friend of mine." It hurt just calling him a friend, she wanted to say something more then just friends, but she didn't want Letla to object to it. It'd hurt even more then.

As the shadowy figure of the other male came through the streaming light, Tsotsi saw him fully. A strange, muffled sound erupted from Tsotsi's mouth as he observed this "Letladika". He couldn't believe it. He didn't understand. How could Sauda greet him so cheerfully? She had mentioned something about having someone over, but Tsotsi immediately assumed it would be another female.
Bright, brown coat and shining, blue eyes...He was disgusting.
"A friend of yours?" Tsotsi echoed Sauda blankly. He backed up to the very rear of the den. He wanted to stay in front of Sauda to keep the male away, but his legs moved on their own. Dark memories churned in his mind and blurred his sight. He knew he couldn't control the visions he was seeing. They were not his to control. They were something else's. Tsotsi sat and stared emptily at the rock walls as though the other male didn't exist, pretending it was still only him and Sauda in the den.

A smile formed on his face. He nodded happily some how, feeling a bit more relaxed now that he knew this pup wasn't her's. Though the look this young pup was giving him made Letladika feel uncomfortable. Was it horror? He had not originally seen fear on Tsotsi's face, and instead just saw something blank... Was Tsotsi afraid of him?
Feeling hurt, Letladika smiled at Tsotsi. "Nice to meet you, Tso-" But was cut off abruptly by him backing up, looking away, as if he was trying not to look at him. Letladika didn't frown, but he felt hurt deep down. This wasn't what he had in mind for a proper introduction, and he wasn't about to push Tsotsi about anything.
His expression was shadowed as he tried to hide the many emotions that screwed up his face. Letladika looked to Sauda, "It's nice to see you." He wasn't trying to break Tsotsi out of the conversation. Just speaking to break any sudden silence...

She went from looking to Letladika with a happy smile to looking at the frightened Tsotsi. Her smile vanished more quick then a cheetah. "Tsotsi..... what's wrong?" He seemed to not like Letladika. She never went into his past. Now she felt rather selfish about this whole meeting. Selfish and stupid. She should have asked Tsotsi first.
She moved towards him as he was now at the back of the den. He looked as if interested in the walk, yet something seemed a bit off about him. It scared her slightly. "Tsotsi... Are you ok?" She asked him. She looked from the pup to Letladika. She looked for him for help of some type.

"Nothing's wrong, I'm fine." Tsotsi answered cooly. He raised an eyebrow, blank-faced and continued to stare at the rocks.
It was okay. As long as he sat still, not making eye contact, the other male would leave. He knew from experience that he would. Soon, it would be just him and Sauda again. He just had to wait.
He grimaced at the long-past routines that were resurfacing in his mind. If only Letladika would move away from the entrance, Tsotsi could get out. He felt trapped and suffocated. They were both staring at him, staring at him, not looking away. Sauda was worried. He hated when she was worried and he knew it was always his fault. She was close to that male...How could Tsotsi have been unaware of a male in her life for all that time? He clenched his teeth and felt his eyes move up and over to Letladika. He glared. Slowly, the wheels of his mind turned. Maybe it wouldn't be like it was back then...Maybe he would be able to keep Sauda away from this male. Maybe there was still time.
Tsotsi flipped the hair out of his face and grinned at Letladika.

Letladika wouldn't say Tsotsi was a strange one, but his thoughts couldn't help but drive towards that direction. Did something happen in his past to cause him to act like this? Or was it something about Letladika that made the young hyena react? He wasn't trying to look sad, as he noticed Tsotsi had turned and now was staring at him, a grin on his black face.
Okay. Just don't make a bad impression on him. Letladika hated making a rude entrance, and today might be one of those.
"Hello Tsotsi." Being polite would be okay. This might change Tsotsi's view of Letladika, or just make him hate him more. But it was worth a shot, and he wasn't going to blow it with Sauda around. Right? Or would he?
He smiled back at Tsotsi's grin and looked towards Sauda.

Sauda let a smile appear back on her face. It seemed things were now going well. Little did she know about anything that was going on though. Had she known about Tsotsi's past, she would have probably waited a while before inviting Letla over. Maybe brought Tsotsi to him instead. "Well, this will be fun!" She said with a small giggle. "So what do my two favorite boys want to do today?" she asked.
Of course, she didn't see anything wrong in saying those words. Her tail was wagging as she looked from one to the other. Thinking everything would be just fine now.

Tsotsi's grin faded and he ground his teeth. Eyes glowing, he stared at Letladika as the other male gazed upon Sauda.
Hello, he said? Ugh. Two favorite boys, she said? Everything was going wrong. It wasn't fair.
"I'm hungry," Tsotsi told Sauda, careful to add just the right touch of whine to pique her motherly instincts. "But I wouldn't want to ask you to get food since you've done so much for me already...I could go get something?" he suggested, smiling at her. Then, he drifted his eyes over to Letladika. "Or..." he said, quietly. "...Your friend could?"

Okay.
Was he seriously playing at something? In all Letladika's life he had encountered protective animals, very protective. He had been driven out of 'their' --- as they said --- lands because of something. But this wasn't right. He already knew Tsotsi had to be scheming at something, and by the looks of it he wanted Letladika away from Sauda.
His ears flattened. It was best if he just let Tsotsi have his way. He never liked fighting young ones. Especially one his age, since Letladika was a way older.
Without a word, he flung himself around and steadily walked away, his paws keeping that fast edge like he was out to find them food. But he might not return. It was obvious he didn't like Tsotsi and Tsotsi didn't like him.
