First half - Kivuli finding out that Kisura is preggo. Second half - Birthing of pups  Kucha'Kivuli had woke up not so early. He found himself alone, or at least he appeared alone. Which wasn't too uncommon. He always woke up later then Kisura did. Only waking up when it got too hot to sleep. He stretched his legs as he stood up. It felt nice to stretch. There was a tree that he had slept under, but as the sun moved above in the sky, so did the shade.
The sun was directly upon him. Shaking the dirt that had gathered while he was asleep. He stopped and then walked under the said. Yawning, and sat down. Now too late to try to go back to sleep, he would just wait for his beloved to come back.
It was quite strange thinking about it. He had finally found someone, or more less she had found him instead. Things happened so fast between them, it was like a dream almost. A very good dream. Nothing could make it worse or better. Or so he thought nothing could get better...

 The reason Kisura had been getting up earlier lately was that she had in fact been having trouble sleeping. Although she was quite sure Kivuli hadn't noticed it, Kisura had recently realised that she was getting bigger. She had also noted that she was hungry almost all the time, and that no matter what she ate, she still craved more.
At first, she had just put it down to the fact that she had a mate now, something that was as new to her as all this strange behavior. As time went on though, she knew it had to be something else. This morning was much like any other, except the female Wild Dog had finally come to the correct conclusion. Her body had begun to change in preparation for what was to come. She was pregnant.
With a glowing smile on her face, she decided to return to the den, now that she had considered how she was going to tell her beloved mate.

As he sat there, he decided to make himself more clean. Still bits of dirt clung to his dark fur, making it look duller and lighter then normal. He started to lick. Dirt was an interesting thing. He didn't like its taste, yet he didn't really care if he ate it. He wondered what dirt really was. Was it a rock, or something else? His mind wondered a ton while he sat and waited.
His fur almost clean on one side. At least his belly, he'd move to his feet next, which always made him look funny as he gnawed on his feet. It made it look like he was trying to eat his own foot. But, he'd gnaw... lick, gnaw, then lick again. It took a long process to clean a foot. When he was satisfied, he moved to his other side. With the pondering of the dirt still in is mind.

Kivuli was about to have something a lot more interesting than dirt on his mind. As Kisura approached, she let out a feminine giggle. He looked so funny when he was cleaning his feet. "Kivuli, I have something to tell you. Your feet can wait." She said with a playful smile.
When she reached him, she sat down and curled her bushy pink tail around her legs. She seemed to radiate happiness, which wasn't unusual for her since falling in love with Kivulu, but something was definatly different.
"I have some good news."

He stopped in mid lick as Kisura's voice filled his ears. Which gave a twitch as it did. He looked up at her, his tongue still sticking out his mouth as he stared for a moment then realized it was sticking out and licked his lips before letting his tongue rest in his mouth. "Oh? Good news?" He looked at her ecstatically.
She did seem to glow, but he couldn't get why. He'd never been around a pregnant female, so he wouldn't know any of the signs. "I can't wait to hear it!" He said. Maybe she found a good hunting ground, or a nice watering hole that was better then the one they knew? Kids never crossed his mind at all.

Once Kivuli was giving Kisura his full attention, she took in a deep breath before letting out a content sigh. Then, she focus completely on Kivuli, eager to see his reaction to what she was about to tell him. "As you may or may not have noticed, I've been acting a bit strange recently." She chuckled a little. "I've been eating a lot more, and I've had trouble sleeping. My body has also been changing, which was upsetting until I realised why." Saying that, she leaned forward to give Kivuli a sweet lick on the cheek, before leaning back again to reveal the good news. "Kivuli, I'm pregnant."

He nodded with everything she said. He had noticed, well somethings, not most. But he was certainly not the one to know why. He'd never seen any one pregnant, or if he had, he didn't notice. It'd have been rude to say they looked pregnant when they weren't. Though he was sure you could only really tell with lions.
"Pregnant?" He gasped happily. He was filled with shock. He was going to be a father?. He took in a few deep breaths just to make sure he was actually breathing. He looked away from her for a second "Wow.... Me? A father? Really?" he couldn't believe it, yet it was the happiest day of his life. As well as scariest. He didn't know how he'd act around babies.
Would he be a good father? Would they like him? How many would they have? The questions kept piling up in his brain, but he couldn't say them. He looked back at her. "How long?" He asked then realized she probably wouldn't know what he was asking. "how long are you, or how long will it take for them to come?" he asked her. His voice a little raspy from shock.

Kisura let out a small sigh of relief as she immediatly saw that Kivuli was happy. "You'll make a fantastic father." She said with a smile, before getting up to nuzzle him affectionatly. "I'm not sure how good of a mother I'll make, but with your support I'm sure we'll do fine."
As her mate's last question, Kisura shook her head. "I'm honestly not sure. This is completely new to me, and I've never really talked about this kind of thing to anyone before, so I don't really know what to expect." She let out a small, content laugh. "I just know that it's happening."

At least she was on the same page as him. He knew nothing of what to expect, or what to do. "This is just all so sudden." He said with a smile. It wasn't too bad, in fact, he couldn't be happier. His tail was wagging back and forth upon the ground making a bit of dirt come up here and there.
"Well, there's a first for everything!" He said with a smile and a nod. "And I'm sure you'll be the best mother ever." He said as he nuzzled her back, a bit late, but he was still in shock. "Wonder what they'll look like." He said now thinking on how they'd look.

"It certainly is." She said with a laugh, although the changes her body had undergone had occured over a period of time. Actually realising what was happening was what was so sudden. Her tail was wagging as well, although not as fast as Kivuli's.
Kisura smiled and nodded at her mate's words of encouragment, before she too considered what they might look like. "If we have any boy, I'm sure they'll be handsome like their father." She grinned. "And of course, any girls we have will be pretty like their mother."

He nodded at her words. They should would. He didn't care what they looked like really. He just cared if they were healthy when they came. "no possible way to know how many, is there?" He asked her. He was sure he probably already asked her this, but it had slipped out of his mind. The shock of it all, good shock of course, had caused him slight memory lost. A father....
"best we should think up some names, no? Or wait?" He didn't know how that worked. Of course, he'd have to know how many there was to be before they could think of names for each of them. Well, bugger this was hard.

Kisura laughed and looked down towards her stomach. "I guess the bigger I get, the more there will be?" She wasn't all that big right now, but she was sure that wouldn't last for long. "I just hope we don't have too many." She laughed again, although this time more nervously. "I don't know if I'm ready for a huge litter."
When she looked back to her mate, Kisura shook her head. "I think we should wait and see first how many we get, and what genders they are."

He smiled. " Yeah, I'm sure you won't get too big." He told her. Though, even if she did, she'd be more beautiful then anything upon the earth. He thought for a moment about big litters. "I don't think I could handle too many, either." He told her honestly. He gave her a lick and smiled again. "I think that might be best, as well. Don't want to come up with a ton of names that wouldn't go with the babies."

"We'll just have to take everything as it comes." She said airily. "I don't really know what to expect." Saying that, Kisura moved to lie down. "I'm going to have a little nap now." She grinned. "You should probably get used to it."

He smiled, and gave her a nuzzle as she laid down for a nap. He seemed quite tired too. He had a smile on his face that seemed it'd last forever. He laid down next to her, putting his head on top of her back, though his eyes stayed open. He could hear the little heart beats in her belly. Or at least he thought he could.
