The forest was quiet this time of day, and peaceful. And lonely. Blue whisper lay under a tree, among its large gnarled roots, watching the grass grow. His blue markings, eyes, and hair all glowing softly, still visible from a distance in the shade of the wood, because it was not full light. He sighed, watching as his breath stirred a leaf.

Arduinna skipped happily through the woods. Her mom had more children and it was nice. Xena was taking after mom in some ways and Kiwi was like her dad. She was the healer of the herd so she had a pretty decent ability. The green filly then stopped as she saw blue markings on a stallion. "Hello there! What's your name? My name is Arduinna, daughter of Epona."

He leapt a mile when she spoke, and landed, some what awkwardly on his hooves, one of them on a slippery root. the hoof gave way under him and he slipped, falling into a sitting position. He blinked at her, the blue light from his eyes flickering in and out of sight as he did. Finally he ducked his head shyly, some of his mane falling to cover his face. "Blue Whisper," he said in a breathy voice that was almost impossible to hear. Like his name, his voice was a mere whisper.

Arduinna looked at him. "Really? That's a really nice name. You're not hurt are you?" She went over to him a bit closer. "If you want I can heal wounds since I'm the herd healer." She cheerfully smiled.

"ah... thank you..." he whispered, "I think I'm okay though. I was just startled. I'm sorry," he whispered softly, peering out through his mane at her shyly.

Arduinna looked at him then at his body making sure there were no wounds. "Alright if you say so and don't worry. There's really no need for apologies. I probably shouldn't have startled you like that." She tried to look at his face, but couldn't make out much since he was covering it up. "Am I scary to you?"

"s...sorry, I didn't mean to upset you," he whispered. "I could go...if you wanted..." he stammered in a whisper, pawing at the ground, looking down at it. He couldn't help it, he couldn't think of a thing to say, and why would she want to talk to him anyway? She'd wind up leaving soon anyhow...

Arduinna looked a bit sad. "Oh please don't go." She was wondering why he was so shy. "You're not upsetting me, I just want to get to know you." She cocked her head to the side. "You're a very beautiful pony, but I don't know why you're so scared. I just want to help you if there is anything I can do."

"I...I just... I'm not scared, I just... don't know what to s....say thats worth your time...is all..." He whispered, pawing at the ground. She wanted to get to know him? She thought he was beautiful? Why?

Arduinna frowned for a second then smiled again. "Oh don't worry about it. I don't have friends so you're not waisting my time, plus my baby brother and sister are getting a lot of attention leaving me to wander around." She looked at him up and down. "Do you like butterflies by any chance?"

He gave a small nod. "I love butterflies," he whispered. "they're fun to watch, and they know the best flowers. They never stay around long though." No one ever did.

Arduinna was a bit confused. "What do you mean they don't stay around long?" She thought for a moment. "Well I guess they don't but they like to be free and look around the area. You could follow after them to if you wanted to."

Arduinna thought a bit then nodded her head. "I guess so." She then perked up and smiled. "Hey! If you ever wanted to be around someone or have someone to talk to then I'm always open." She then looked at his full face. "Wow! Now see what happens when you show your full self? You actually have really nice eyes."

He flushed a bit, though with his coloring, it was impossible to tell, and pulled his head back, like a turtle. "I...I wouldn't want to take up your time," he whispered. "I'm sure you have much more important people to talk to, things to do."
