I would position the camera so I could see the display screen in my mirror and then set my camera to close up objects, place the camera nearly touching my peircing with the flash off and let it focus.

Or did they peirce it with that stud? it was peirced with that stud, that's all they had. =/ I wanted a plain silver one, but I had to pick from those, and they all had "gemstones" in it, so I got violet (my webcam doesn't pick the color up) I'm gonna find a plain one in the mall on monday.
how long did it take yours to heal?

Mine took 3 months. actually you can peirce it with both as long as it's surgical steel grade. Which it is. I've no problems cleaning it or turning it at all, so it really didn't matter if they did it with a ring or a barbell.
I'd know, my cousin is a tattooist/piercer, it really doesn't matter.

The ring simply makes it alot easier to clean. ect. Because then you can lather it up with soap or bactine and force that into the hole. What do they have you cleaning it with?

I prefer them, they feel safer to me.
