A large screen towered over the stadium. A spinner with twelve different battle field locations displayed on the screen, waiting to be choosen. One of the trainers jumps to the control room and presses a big green button to start up the spinner. The screenshots of each battlefield light up as they are passed by the spinner. Finally, the light stops on... THE CITY-STREETS FIELD
Broken tar and faded yellow lines make up the “street” that runs down the exact center of the battle field. On either side of the road, sidewalks with pieces of concrete here and there are broken off while “building walls”, set with windows of sugar glass and rotating doors are placed on one side of the street. On the other is a broken down building with barred window and a boarded up door. Faint traces of grim and much cover the walls of both “buildings” while trash cans and trash bags decorate the street; some are torn open with their contents spilled out while others are not. A sewer grate nearby continually pours a stream of fog into the air while, on the corner near a crossroad, a phone booth is seen. The phone, hanging off the hook, makes a continuous busy signal. Dying and dead bushes line the building sides while occasional breezes blow the dead leaves onto the sidewalks and road.

Quote: Now we come in and do a introduction of our trainer. In MULTIPOKEMON battles you don't send out your pokemon in the intro. In ONE VS. ONE, you do. Don't take it personally if I sound like I am thinking you don't know anything. ^__^;; I just want to guide you on what I learned. Kayla walked into the stadium, smiling. After finishing talking with Shelly and getting Grinch (from Shelly) and Quintrell back to health, it wasn't long when she ran across another person who also didn't know how to battle. Kayla didn't feel like having one of her pokemon challenge one another again and cause a problem but as luck would have it, a trainer who was sitting in a booth heard the conversation and offered the newbie her pokemon to learn. So here she was again, in the stadium, ready to train a soon-to-be-trainer. It's all good in the end. She enjoy helping someone out and in the end she gets the experience she needs to become stronger.
Kayla walked up onto the platform and hang on to the railing as she waited for the newbie to show up.
As she waits, observed the new battle field. This was her first time using the city-streets field. The smell wasn't too appealing but it will just have to do for now. This is why she prefered the outdoors than city. All this smog and 'dirtiness' didn't suit her one bit but enough looking around. Time to battle.
"Go Adira!" Kayla threw out one of her pokeballs from her waist when it was ready.
The pokeball let out a red beam of light and Adira shot out from the pokeball and landed near a smelly trash can and bags. Adira snorted in disgust before sweeping her area a little cleaner with one whack of her tail. Her eyes started looking around for her next victim. If it was a water pokemon, she will let it say its prayers before it suffering.Quote: 700/700 As if this moment, I don't know if your character is a girl or boy and yeah. XD Generally, when we battle we keep track of how much HP points your pokemon has left. Right now I am going to roll...to see who goes first. Then you will roll a dice of 6 with your intro. Remember, NO DELETING POST. FFN will be watching. -waves at FFN- XDD -edit- And will you look at that. My bad luck is already started. XDDD

Nyght walked into the Stadium a little nervous. It felt odd to actually have a pokemon in one of the balls around her waist, as if the added presence could be felt through the pokeball's walls. Shaking her head, Nyght reflected on how in Articuno's name she had gotten here. A trainer, Kayla, had offered to teach her to battle.... Meeka had lent her Ebba so that Nyght could battle. And that was basically it, now she was in the Stadium, having no idea what she was doing and hoping that Kayla was true to her word about nicely teaching.
Nyght shook herself out of her thoughts at the stench of the city-streets. Had she gotten turned around? No, this was the field that had been chosen for them to battle on.... She nodded to herself, trying to remember how battles went. Nyght stepped onto her place in the large stadium, spotting Kayla and her Cranidos. She realized that she should release Ebba now.
Her hands shaking visibly, Nyght detached the occupied pokeball from her belt and, somewhat weakly, through it out, "Umm.. Go Ebba!" It wasn't all that dramatic of an entrance, but Nyght reassured herself that she would get better with practice.
To her relief, the scarfed Stantler appeared out of his ball, though he looked a little disinterested in battling for Nyght. Ebba looked around him at the trash and tilted his head, trotting over to one bag, sniffing it before deciding it was not an appetizing smell. He seemed to be looking for something, which Nyght could only assume was food, but she didn't have anything to entice him with, so she just hoped that he would listen to her... Nyght looked around the stadium, wondering if Meeka would come and watch, and hoping that Nyght wouldn't screw up too bad....

Kayla watched with slight amusement as Nyght walked in nervously. It will probably always be this way. New trainers who are unsure of battling will be a little skittish.
Kayla waved. "Hey, Nyght! Why don't we start the battle." She gestured towards the field. "You can start, if you want."
Both Adira and Kayla watched as Nyght released Meeka's stantler, who was more interested in looking for food than keeping an eye on Adira, which can and probably will be a big mistake.
Adira looked at the stantler with dispproval but not hatred. In her option, a pokemon ready to battle should always be focused and prepared but it seems this one won't be that bright. Oh well. Lunch for her.
Now they both wait to see what Nyght would start off with...

Kayla's tone reassured Nyght a bit. She didn't seem overly competitive, or determined to destroy Nyght in her first battle, which, silly as they sounded, were Nyght's primary concerns. That at letting Ebba get too badly hurt....
"All right Ebba, let's do this!" Though her voice shook a bit at the end, Nyght's posture was one of determination. The stantler seemed a bit distracted, and if it was food he wanted, perhaps Nyght could use that to her advantage. "Hey Ebba, if you listen to me, I promise to buy you as much jam as Meeka will let me!" And Nyght would keep her promise. She didn't have pokemon to buy products for, so she may as well spoil someone else's.
At the word jam, Ebba looked up and back at Nyght, trotting a short distance, and appearing to at least stand at attention. This was a great improvement to looking through trash, and Nyght had a vague hope that this would go all right after all.
"Okay, it's time to start battling. You can't get distracted by all the trash in the street, so just focus on my voice and staying out of that Cranidos' teeth...." At the mention of Ebba's opponent, the stantler looked towards the other end of the field and his eyes widened. Yeah, a deer pokemon fighting a dinosaur pokemon wasn't the best for the deer.... "Hey, it'll be all right, just focus and use those hooves. Let's start off with Iron Tail!"
Nyght pointed her hand towards the Cranidos and shouted the last two words for effect and to try to get Ebba moving.
Ebba recognized the command easily enough and turned to face the Cranidos. He started into a gallop, his tail lengthening and hardening with a silvery glint to it. As he neared the dinosaur pokemon, he leaped into the air and spun, attempting to get over the Cranidos and spear it's back with the blade-like tail.

Kayls shook her head in much amusement when Nyght had to 'bribe' Ebba to fight. Now there the stantler stood, ready to battle now even if it was nervous at facing a meat-eating pokemon such as Adira.
At Nyght's command, both Adira and Kayla winced just slightly. Already to a good start, it seems. Thought Kayla.
"Adira! You got to dodge that!" Kayla shouted.
Adira knew that and did or at least tried but still no good. Stantlers were made to run from their predators but this time Ebba was running at her and more quickly than they both thought.
Ebba was a few feet away before he leaped into the air and plowed down onto Adira with a silvery, metalic tail. Unforunately for both Kayla and especially Adira, it was a direct hit.
It sent Adira rolling, uncontrollably towards a bunch more of trashcans and bags. Adira struggled to get up quickly because of the smell and filth that was all over her.
Now she was fuming mad. The nerve of that piece of meat to send her flying towards waste products implied that she was trash too. Eyes shooting daggers of death at the stantler now. She had no plans of showing any mercy for it.
"You okay, Adira!" Adira nodded stiffly. "Alright, let's fight fire with fire. Use Rock Smash!"
So the cranidos charged at the stantler, roaring mightly. When she managed a few feet from Ebba, dodging the disgusting trash, she jumped as high as she can go and slammed herself onto the ground, tail not to far behind. That force made the field crack and crumble, sending large rocks in all directions but most of them aimed at Ebba.

Nyght cheered as Ebba landed a solid hit, "Nice job Ebba, now ready yourself for the counterattack!" Nyght's blood was already pumping, she had had an awesome start to the day. Her mind started racing with which attack to use next on the Cranidos, knowing she had to play to Ebba's strengths. Her mind hit on one, and she kept it on the tip of her tongue to shout to Ebba. Before she could do that, however, the Cranidos attempted to retaliate. Ebba, thankfully, had stayed attentive while the Cranidos got out of the garbage she had fallen into.
As Nyght heard Kayla's direction to her pokemon, Nyght grimaced and shouted quickly, "Ebba, dodge those rocks, don't let them hit you!" Like the deer pokemon really needed such direction, but Nyght was doing everything she could to keep Ebba safe. The stantler snorted and pawed at the ground, his eyes watching the Cranidos. As the street began to shatter and fly, Ebba leaped into the air, dodging the first rock aimed at him. Miraculously, he dodged to the left and missed the next as well, and another one after that. Nyght was amazed at the stantler's agility, and almost proud, though it wasn't her pokemon.
Nyght had to dodge a few stray pebbles herself, though the battle was so far from her that it wasn't too dangerous. As soon as Ebba had cleared all the rocks, Nyght shouted to her, "Earthquake Ebba!" This command caught the stantler with his momentum still, so he was easily able to rear up his hooves. A strange glow lit his front hooves as they rushed towards the already shattered concrete. He slammed into the street and sent shockwaves out, rearing again to continue the effect.

Kayla watched in utter amazment as the stantler dodged each and every rock thrown at her. Adira was not too happy at all. Her front claws were clenched tightly and teeth bared for all to see, growling menacingly.
They didn't have to wait to hear the next command and this one wasn't going to be easy to dodge like the first one could have been. Earthquake. God.
"Adira! Run towards me and away from it!"
Adira did not waste time and attempted to flee but like before no good. The shattering ground was much quicker and caught up with her. Adira almost slipped into the large crack of the stadium but as she tried to climb out of the large jagged hole, the shockwaves of the earthquake blasted at her back again and again.
She gritted her each every time it hit as she continue to try to climb out and with every hit, she gets weaker and weaker.
When she managed to free herself from slipping, the shockwaves stopped and Adira was almost crawling towards Kayla before struggling to get back up agian.
"God, Adira..." Kayla whispered softly in dismay. She knew that Adira could not take much more of this. Kayla looked up at Nyght and smiled weakly. "For your first time battling, you are doing great." At Adira's expense though.
Kayla looked down at Adira again. "Hey...you think you can try one more time?"
Adira looked into her trainer's eyes and gave a determined look. She would never EVER quit a battle, even if she is at the end of her ropes. Adira nodded but panting and trembling while doing so.
Kayla's heart swelled at the loyalty Adira gave. Her eyes almost watered but Kayla shook her head to get rid of the coming tears and looked up.
"Okay! Let's try to get some damage then! Use Hammer Arm!"
Adira paused for justa second before charging again at Ebba. Half way onto the playing field, Adira's forearm started to glow and harden. When she got up to Ebba, Adira attempted a backhand sweep across the stantler's head.

Nyght's eyes widened as Ebba's attack pummeled the Cranidos to within an inch of fainting. This was amazing. "Nice job Ebba!" In the back of her mind, Nyght felt bad for hurting the pokemon so badly, but she knew she couldn't let that thinking take over. She had to direct Ebba skillfully and keep her from harm. There seemed to be a possibility of returning Ebba to Meeka without a scratch, now that would be amazing. After the seismic waves abated, Ebba reared up and called challengingly at the Cranidos, he seemed to actually be getting into this battling thing. That brought a smile to Nyght's face, and reaffirmed her battling mindset.
Kayla's comment didn't help Nyght's determination though. The Cranidos was proving so brave in the face of such unfavorable conditions. Nyght raised a hand and waved at Kayla, "Thanks, you're a great teacher!" Nyght tried to put enthusiasm behind it, but they both knew that there was always a down side to battling, hurt pokemon. Friends and companions in pain and still fighting for their trainers. The sacrifice they made was enormous, and made Nyght reconsider what she really wanted to do in her life. Could she really put her pokemon through this just for fame. Though it was fame for the pokemon too, and she would take care of them the instant the battle was done... She would have to think about it though, and now was not the time. Nyght brought her thoughts back to the battle at hand quickly, her eyes scanning the stadium for what would happen next.
It was just in time to, because as Ebba returned all four hooves to the ground, the weakened Cranidos started to charge her with an outstretched arm.
"Ebba, dodge that arm and retaliate with Double Kick!" Nyght shouted out to the deer pokemon, and Ebba responded well. As the Cranidos closed in on him, Ebba reared up, narrowly avoiding contact. Using the momentum of his rear, Ebba flipped around, landed on his front feet and propelled his back hooves towards the Cranidos, pumping one and then the other towards the pokemon's fleshy underbelly.
Nyght's breath caught, knowing that this could be the deciding strike. She crossed her fingers behind her back, not wanting Kayla to see that she really was still nervous. "C'mon Ebba, you can do this," Nyght whispered under her breath.

Kayla's jaw just dropped along with Adira as the attack missed. How is that possible!? In close combat it was difficult to dodge anything but both Nyght and Ebba managed to do the impossible and made it possible!
"Crap!" Kalya exclaimed. So this is it then. She thought slightly dismayed. She didn't mind losing to a future pokemon trainer because then they will know how things are done and she would get some experience to use in the next battle she gets to improve. However, this battle is ending alot quicker than she had first thought it would. All her attack have missed completely and now it looks like this will be the end but she will still hang onto hope as long as Adira doesn't give up too.
Both Kayla and Adira watched as Ebba reared her front hooves to dodge and using the momentum to do a double kick, which is super deadly if aimed right.
"Wait for it!"
Adira kept her eyes on the hooves and not on anything else. When the stantler turned around to do the deadly kick, Kayla quickly shouted her command.
"Now duck and use Hammer Arm!"
The timing was perfect! Adira ducked under the kick and took aim at the underbelly of Ebba. Adira's arm glowed and harden as she did an uppercut at Ebba.

Ebba bleated loudly as his feet hit nothing but air. The lack of contact threw his balance off terribly. As he tried to land his feet without falling over, he felt the sharp claw on his stomach, crying out in pain. The force kept his feet from connecting and he fell and rolled over the broken concrete, a tangle of legs and hooves. Struggling to his feet, he blurted to Nyght, reassuring her that he was all right, and only limping a little. So much for getting out of this without a scratch.
Nyght decided to go with what had worked before and called out to Ebba, "You all right there Ebba? Why don't you finish this off with another Earthquake!" Any guilt that Nyght had been feeling before vanished as she saw Ebba hurt, this was pokemon battling and she had one job, win. If she went soft than Ebba would end up hurt just as badly as the Cranidos, and she didn't want that. To add effect and further inspire Ebba, Nyght pumped her arm into the air, cheering for the stantler. "Rock this place!"
Ebba's stomach ached, but it wasn't anything he couldn't deal with. Once he made it to his feet, he was fine. The stantler got himself reoriented, lowering his antlers towards the Cranidos standing a few feet away. He could see that the Cranidos was weak, and just wanted to finish the battle. When Nyght's order came, he jutted his head up and nodded firmly, then reared high, almost in slow motion, and his hooves began to glow again. As he propelled himself firmly down to the concrete again, the glow grew and finally connected with the black asphalt, seismic waves visible in the already shattered concrete. Ebba raised himself up again and again, wave after wave being propelled all around, and especially at the Cranidos.
Nyght caught her breath in her throat, watching the waves coming nearer and nearer the dinosaur pokemon, visualizing them hit in her mind and hoping that reality would soon match the scene.

Quote: You RP so great. XDD I envy it. 8D Kayla was soo happy that Adira made contact with Ebba that she didn't think much of the retaliation of it. "That was an awesome, Adira!" She praised but they didn't have time to celebrate that small victory.
Once Nyght and Ebba reassured each other that everything was okay on their end, both sets of eyes were not too happy and Kayla could feel the heat of it.
Kayla gulped in nervousness. "Adira! Get back over here! It looks like something bad is going to--" But before she could finish the sentence, Nyght ordered the next attack; Earthquake. Again.
God. Kayla thought in horror. Adira didn't have enough energy to escape this time and with her so exhuasted as it is...
"Come on! Move, Adira!" Adira did her best to get away but the shockwaves were already starting and another large crack started to form in the concrete on the battlefield.
It was just very little luck that Adira didn't trip and fall into the jagged hole but the waves of Ebba created were as fast as sound, too fast to be outran.
Half way down the field, Adira received the first wave and another and another. Before the attack had ended, Adira fell onto the ground, totally out of it and unconcious. The shockwaves subsided and the stadium became silenced.
Kayla sighed deeply as she grabbed Adira's pokeball and called her back to safely. "Return, Adira."
Adira was soon engulfed by the red beam of light and returned inside her pokeball.
Kayla looked up at Nyght and smiled. "That was some amazing luck you got there and awesome battling skills." She placed the pokeball back where it was along her waist.
Kayla went off the platform when it reached the ground and waited for Nyght to do the same. "Lets go to the Pokemon Center and refresh ourselves and our pokemon. I'm sure Meeka is anixous about the results of our battle." Kayla winked, smiling. "Though, don't brag too much, or I will be asking for a rematch."

((*huggles* thankies! You are too you silly head!))
Nyght gaped as the shock-waves hit the Cranidos. As the Cranidos fell, all eyes were on her, even Ebba's, as he finished his attack. The deer pokemon stood silently, observing his fallen foe with a serious, yet triumphant air. Then, quietly, he turned and trotted back to his battling partner, tilting his head slightly in obvious question, "Stant?"
This shook Nyght out of her solemn silence, and she couldn't help but smile, "You want your jam don't you, big guy." Nyght's hand reached out to rest on the stantler's pronounced nose, rubbing it absently. "I don't have any with me now, but we'll get to the Pokemart as soon as we get you healed up and find Meeka, how does that sound?"
Ebba considered the human's words for a moment, then bopped her hand with his nose and bleated again, "Stant!"
Nyght smiled truly this time, and unhooked one of the empty pokeballs on her belt. "All right, time to rest for a little bit. Ebba, return." A soft red glow surrounded the Stantler and it seemed almost like he was shrinking for a moment before he dematerialized and returned to the comfort of his pokeball. Nyght sighed, returning the ball to her waist and stepped off the platform, narrowing the space between herself and Kayla.
The girl's compliment was unexpected and Nyght grinned at her, "Thanks! I guess that just shows how great of a teacher you are! Yeah, I thought she would come, but I guess not...." Nyght trailed off.
"Well, lead the way! And, believe me, we're going to have a rematch no matter what, when I have my own pokemon!" The challenge in Nyght's voice was paired with a sense of friendly rivalry, a strange friendship starting to bloom. "But don't worry, Adira's reputation won't be tarnished by me."

Kayla blushed a bit, looking away at the 'teacher' compliment. "Aww. I'm not so great but if you say so."
Both girls, walked together out of the stadium, chatting. "I can't wait to see what pokemon you will get. I know you will get one soon. Just keep trying. If you ever need a pokemon to use to help you learn more, just ask."
With that, they walked through the doors of the pokemon center to get their pokemon's healed up.
