Here is a short list of some of the different species the Jungle Folk descend from, so you can know what their wings would look like. I also posted a few of the birds' known traits briefly if you would like to use them to accentuate your RP character's personality. This is not obligatory, though. ^_^


Scarlet Macaw: Very intelligent, talkative and loud. They enjoy social interaction.Image

Sulfer Cockatoo: Not very talkative, but they have a playful and affectionate nature. They crave attention and are grumpy if not pampered enough by their loved ones.Image

Amazon: Talkative, and good at singing and whistling. Very loving and loyal. Some of the males can become over-excited during mating season. Image of a Yellow Naped Amazon

Hummingbird: They are not very social and live very solitary lives, usually only coming together to mate. They are very territorial and will fight others to defend their area. Image

Harpy Eagle: Skilled hunters with enormous claws, who basically like to eat meat. As such, they can be seen as agressive. Image

Toucan: Playful and like to play games. They like to take care of their kin (ie: offer food, help preen their wings) Image

Hoatzin: They are territorial and will chase away trespassers and fight off intruders. They are not very good at flying, but are able climbers. They can fly up to 350 meters before needing to rest. They spend most of their time resting in trees. Image


If there is another species you would like to use, please feel free. Just remember to use a bird species from the tropical region. That shouldn't be too hard as there are over 1,500 bird species in the Amazon you could look up. :3 It's mostly for the wings.

Bio: Tayo was born the second eldest out of five children. He lived content with his family and was taught at a very young age how to hunt by his father. When he was barely ten, his parents were killed by other Harpy Eagles who had gone raving mad and he had helped his younger siblings escape. His older brother later left them after he found a mate.

Personality: Tayo is an introvert and not very talkative. Ever since his parents' death he has become slightly distant to others and spends most of his time hunting for his younger siblings. He is cold and aggressive-looking to strangers, but very kind and caring towards his loved ones. Deep down, he wants to find himself a mate who will love him.

Bio: Hichiro was the middle child in a family of seven, plus his parents, and thus was usually given the short end of the stick. He would always be given smaller portions, the colder area to sleep, and his parents said that even his egg was small, an inside joke between members of the family. He never once complained, though, because his family came first in his eyes.

Personality: He is different from others of his species if the sence that he is used to being ignored and somewhat accepts it. He's very kind, very loyal, and very very shy. Mostly because of his up-bringing.

Seme/Uke/Seke: Seke, it all depends on his mate once he finds them.

Bio: Trevor grew up the black sheep (or, technically, the black Hoatzin) of his family. Unlike his siblings and parents, Trevor loves to make new friends, though he is cautious and careful. When he turned of age he left his family and now lives on his own, relying on himself to get what he needs to survive. He occasionally talks with his younger brother in secret meatings that their parents don't know about, but outside that, Trevor lives a solitary life.
Personality: Trevor loves to spend time just watching the other Jungle Folk going about their daily business. He loves to make knew friends and is rather friendly, but is still vary cautious and careful before he allows himself to be friends with another. If someone rubs him the wrong way though, Trevor does become very territorial and possessive and has no problems chasing them away from his territory.

Bio:As far as he knows he was an only child. His parents died shortly after he was born. So he learned how to survive on his own quickly. Though some of the other Jungle Folk helped him from time to time.

Personality:He likes to spend most his time alone flying around. He also likes watching animals. He does want to find a mate though.

Bio: He is like most others of his kind very skilled at hunting. For a long time he hunted for food for his clan. But then things changed. Something came in and destroyed their whole village. Believing his whole tribe to have been destroyed he spends a lot of time alone. Recently he's come across a few others similar to him that he stays near but he rarely interacts.

Personality: Quiet, mostly shy, very protective of those he cares for, and on occasion down right violent. Mostly he prefers to stay away from violence however.

Bio: Mei was naturally born with a large amount of siblings, mostly because his kind are easily picked out by predators. So he was raised with a variety of others, though not always tolerant of them, he faced them as he should. His kind being very showy once of age, made a huge fuss of course over one another, and so the bickering had begun. However the mystical birds have often taken their nesting grounds, which had led to a decrease in the population since their arrival. Their kind is a specialized kind that thrives off the ruit from only certain trees, so most likely you would find his kind there, but lately fewer have been found. Leaving Mei with a family of himself. Being by himself after a time has lead him to seeking his mate.

Personality: Mei being finch like is indeed very picky with his food, often preferring sweeter things. He gets upset easily, though acts tough to keep it from showing. He is territorial about his space, and ill be violent if something irritates him enough. Stubborn and grumpy he isn't the ideal person.... unless he owes you or you get close. Then its another story... he is protective, and sweet. He would shower his mat with affection no matter who they are and make sure they are pleased. So on one side he is a bunch of negatives but it makes up for his inside which is beautiful like his outsides. He does get lonely though, he won't admit it.

Character name: Shiro
Age: 20
Species: Hummingbird
Seme/Uke/Seke: Seme.
Appearance (picture or description): Shiro has long, black hair that falls to midway down his back, which he often ties back. His eyes are emerald green, and he has a fair complexion and slim build, owing in part to his constant time in the shadows. (I couldn't really find a picture that matched how I pictured him, but this is close.)

Bio: Very little is known of Shiro's past, even to himself. At the age of 15 he awoke in a clearing in the jungle with no recollection of his past other than his name and the occasional nightmare. Determined to survive on his own until a member of his family came to find him, he refused all help and struck out on his own. However, no one ever came, and this haunts Shiro more than he cares to admit. He became somewhat of a recluse, and avoids all contact possible with other Jungle Folk, preferring to hide in the shadows of the trees and watch from a distance.

Personality: Shiro tends to be rather quiet and guarded in his opinions, but is by no means shy. However, when he gets to know someone closely he becomes open and caring. It takes a lot to earn his trust, but when it is earned, he trusts absolutely. However, if that trust is ever broken, he withdraws and it becomes near impossible to earn it back. He is very curious and loves to investigate anything and everything. He enjoys learning secrets about the other Jungle Folk and gaining insight as to the things they do and why they do them. He is not one to share these secrets with others, though, and he investigates others mainly for his own amusement. He acts as though he enjoys being alone, but deep down, he longs for companionship and someone he can care about. He tries to avoid any violence and is a determined pacifist, using it only as a last resort.

Species: Quetzal

Appearance (picture or description):

Bio: Kibum as a child was well raised, but then found later abandoned by his parents. He was then taught how to live alone by a couple of birds. They flew away and left him alone. He always wanted someone to love him, since the parents that loved him so much abandoned him when he was a year old.

Personality: Kibum is sweet and charming, but can be a bit sadistic, and seme like. He's talkative, but can be very quiet. He's very straightforward, and will make advances.

BTW, don't worry if you use an image and your character already has wings and/or is dressed in modern or other clothing. The image is just to get an idea of your character's hair and eye color, complexion and overall build.

Xavier was sitting in the tree tops with some birds when he noticed one of those strange birds flying in the sky again. He wanted to see what it looked like up close and talk to it.

He quickly took off after it. He bond and determined to catch up to it this time. If not he would just follow it as closely as possible till it rested. It had to stop at some point didn't it?

He felt so proud when he reached it. e flew to the head looking to talk to it but it didn't have a mouth or eyes. In fact he saw two people who looked like Jungle Folks in there. They didn't have wings though. How strange.

He flew around it looking inside. It was filled with these wingless Jungle Folk. He had to tell the other's about this. He woundered if they would believe him though. He wasn't sure if he even believed it.

He flew back down. He smiled when he spotted another, Tayo. "You won't believe what I just saw. I went up to see that bird with the smoke behind it. It's not a bird at all. It's something else. it had all thses things in it that look like Jungle Folk but they don't have wings."
