do people that believe in reincarnation believe that we are reincarnated as animals? my religion teaches that this is so. how about plants? fungi? or uni-cellular organisms? or virii? prions (infectious protiens)? how about rocks? i believe my religion states that we are only reincarnated into animals. but personally i think plants and fungi and uni-cellular organisms, but not virii, prions, or rocks. but other times i feel a soul is the manifestation of the will to exist, which would mean all matter and energy has a soul.

Yes, yes, yes, yes to all. It's a scientific fact, actually, though not everybody would call this reincarnation. When we die, our molecules are dissasembled and become something else. That something else could be anything you've listed here. It is possible that our spiritual energy does the same thing, but there's really no way to confirm that one way or another. All I feel is that there is definately spirit in all things.

All living things come from something that was once living. Mufasa told me that lol.

I feel that all living things have souls and energy but Im not sure about rocks and inorganic things having souls. I dont really know if souls reincarnate into another thing or reincarnate in to more than one thing. I don't really have a path and Im so confuzzled xp

Aww poor confuzed Doomy....

ok here is how I see it, yes everything has an energy about it, no rocks do not have souls, but all living beings do, and I also do not believe that we reincarnate into other beings or items, I'm not a believer in the reincarnation to upgrade theory...I believe our time spent on earth is like the souls version of going to school and if we learn our lessons while we are here we dont need to come back or we can come back to help a fellow souls to learn there lessons. We choose to reincarnate to learn, study, develop, and grow and at some point we may decide that we are done for whatever reason and then we spend our time as spirit guides to those who choose to reincarnate and with the other souls of people and animals who have touched out lives on earth biggrin

wow that was a mouthful razz

It's a matter of what you choose to believe, of course. All things have an essence and spirit to me; it's what makes all things magical in some way. If you think about the original concept of why people likely started to believe in souls, seeing everything as posessing one makes sense.

From what I've read in anthropological studies on Animistic cultures, a bit I remember said that belief in the soul originated from dreams of the dead. People began believing that some essence of that person survived after death, and this came to be known as the soul. By the same token, if you dream of a tree that has long since been cut down, or a rock once in the center of your village that was broken up to be used for construction, those things too, have a memorable essence or a soul. I can't say I've done in-depth research on the topic though, I just think this idea is interesting. 3nodding

I believe in reincarnation, but I think humans become animals only in very special circumstances. Once you're a human, you stay a human, for the most part. Although I do believe in becoming "more than human" as well.

so do you believe that animals become reincarnated into humans? and what circumstances do you think would cause a human to become an animal?

I belive that reincarnation exists among all living things, not in rocks and such. And I also believe that when you are a certain animal, you are there to gather knowledge, and when you have enough then you go on to the next animal. Some people believe that humans are the last level, and some believe that maybe you go o another planet, others believe that dolphins are the level after humans.

Belive it or not Catholic's used to belive in reincarnation untilthey realized rich people with no hiers were just giving land and money away. Then they changed it and now theCatholic church is one of the largest land holders.

Actually, I believe that you get to choose, to a degree, how your next life will be between the time when you die and the time that you are reincarnated.

where do you draw the line at life? Viri? Prions (infection protiens like those that cause Mad Cow Disease)?

My belief is that when I die that I will be made into something else the world needs. Whether that be a rock, organism, animal or plant, I cannot decide. And I also believe that there's a chance that I could be reincarnated as another woman's child as well. <3 Does that help at all?
