A warm breeze wafted through the trees, the green leaves rustling as their skinny finger-like branches waved to the bright blue eyes below. It was rather peaceful standing there, soaking in the most wonderful summer day. But she was wrong, horribly wrong.

“Kanti!!! Aaaauuunnntttyyy KKKKaaaannnntttiiii!”

A voice rung through the thicket as Kanti flattened her ears. She could recognize that voice from half way across the world if she needed to; however, she never really wanted to. He was the only one of Moki’s children that dared to call her “Aunt” despite the fact that she wasn’t even related to him by blood. She closed her bright blue eyes and shook her head slowly. Her softly beaded mane chimed with every movement enthralling her body with a light sensation of joy.

“So that’s where you’ve been hiding Aunty,” a voice replied from behind her, sending a frown some what disheartened frown across her face. The stallion moved even closer to Kanti as she tried to ignore him. It failed, it didn’t take long for his face to frown with annoyance and for him to tug on a set of beads from her mane with his teeth.

“I give up,” Kanti sighed, as her blue eyes turned to face the stallion, “what do you want to do today Tsela?”

The soft dark brown eyes gave a light smile to the mare, “I want to play a game of tag!”

“I knew it…” Kanti sighed shaking her head, he was so predictable.

“And your it Aunty,” he replied as his feet pranced lightly across the ground in a direction different from where she was facing.

Kanti shook her head again, letting the beads chime again giving her one last minute of peacefulness before her hooves took into the direction that Tsela had taken off to.
