Walking into the training room, Maki couldn’t help but feel worry and distress come into her form. Holding the training saber, she couldn’t help but feel nervous. Today was an important day, the one that she has been waiting for… she would have to duel with another student. But, that wasn’t the only thing that made her nervous. Today they would decide who their new master would be, and Maki wasn’t very excited about that. What if she doesn’t get accepted by one of the masters? Would she be sent back to the cantina? Or something worse than that? Be stuck cleaning the entire place?!? That was something that Maki didn’t want!

Taking a deep breath, Maki moved to enter the room. Scratching her head, her own eyes began to look around the small room, and it only took a few seconds for her to move towards the wall. Sitting against the wall, all she could do was wait for her partner to come to the room, and then the fun would start.

Sitting against the wall, Maki’s brown eyes blinked open as the voice of Cariseka entered her ears. Although she was able to hear the light sounds of the young girl enter the room, Maki was a little bit to nervous to open her eyes before then. But now that her name was spoken, Maki was filled with a new sense of confidence.

”Yes, my name is Maki. It's a pleasure to meet you, you’re Cariseka right?” She spoke, saying each word very slowly. Although she would normally speak fast, messing up on the simple basic language, right now she didn’t want to make a fool of herself. But, just because she didn’t want to be a fool, she still was very excited and happy. ”Should we warm up before we begin? Or, are you ready ta begin?” She asked, not even noticing that she had already messed up on basic. But, that wasn't nothing new for her.

Although she didn’t want to, she couldn’t help but stare slightly at Cariseka. Although she was use to non-humans, it was still strange to see in the academy. After all, most people like herself were near-humans. So, did this mean that Cariseka would be faster and stronger than herself? For once, Maki really didn’t know the answer.

Nodding her own head, Maki did her very best to not stress out mentally. It seemed that she would now be fighting with another sithling. Finally. "Yes, it'sa pleasure as well. Lets both do our best! Hm, and we should talk later on. It could be fun." She added on with a smile, as she moved to take a defensive stance a few feet away from Cariseka. After a short bow, her own eyes began to move around in search of who would be watching them fight with each other.

After a few short moments, the silence seemed to be a clue for Maki. Who ever was watching them fight wouldn't let themselves be known, and instead Maki needed to make the first move. Taking in a deep breath, Maki's own breathing began to calm down and soon enough she was moving in the direction of Cariseka. She had the training saber rased over her head, ready to attack with all her spirit.

Maki couldn't help but hate waiting. That was one of the things that Maki had yet to overcome, and right now her own heart was beating faster than she wanted. Nerves, as some may call it. Looking over at Cariseka, the movements were faster than her eyes allowed. Soon enough, the young selonian girl was heading straight in her direction.

Moving her saber without thinking, the two sabers soon enough smashed into each other. But, unfortunately Maki's movements weren't quick enough. Feeling the burning saber slide near her face, a small red line appeared on her peach skin. Pain seemed to fly from the spot, but it wasn't something new for maki. All this practice has caused this to be something common for young jedi and sith. Right now, she was just proud that she was able to block most of that attack.

Shifting her weight onto her back leg, Maki soon enough brought her saber in a attack towards the shoulder of Cariseka. Although she didn't know if she would hit, it was at least worth a try.

Watching as the training saber's attack came down on Cariseka, it wasn't very surprising that her attack ended up only getting the top of her opponents fur slightly. Against her will, that caused a small frown appear on Maki's lips. 'Drats.' She thought to herself, planting her feet on the ground as she turned to look over her sparing partner again. Allowing her eyes to watch the girls movements, as she realized Cariseka had moved into a crouch on the floor. Watching Cariseka with careful eyes, it was just seconds before the other girl was attacking her.

In seconds a saber was coming straight up from the crouched figure and it was heading straight towards Maki. Luckily for Maki, this time she realized this attack as she dodged nimbly towards the right and missed most of the attack. But, unfortantly she didn't think enough and the blade ended up hitting her leg instead. Looking down at her leg, Maki could see that her pant leg had a small burn mark on it causing the pink skin to be shown. Stupid Maki yet again. It was a foolish thing to have that occur, since Maki should have been smarter and got her legs out of the way. But, she didn't.

Fumbing back into a standing position, Maki quickly raced towards Cariseka with her saber held tightly in her right hand. Dunking down, Maki tried to attack Carseka in the legs this time, since maybe that would help slow down her competion.

As Maki leaned backwards every so slightly, it was quite easy to read all of the shock that was now plastered on the young girls face. This really wasn't something that she was expecting, since Maki was more use to the stereotypical attacks from the droids and not the passionate attacks of her opponent. This was just a little bit strange. For once, she was really shocked and almost forgot what to do. So in a hurried attempt to protect herself, she found herself grabbing her training saber and blocking any attacks that she could. In seconds she allowed herself to breath a little bit more calmly as she pulled on the force to help her counter the wild attacks that were coming towards her.

As the wild attacks came, Maki found herself reacting a little bit slower than normal as one of Cariseka's attacks came down on the forearm of her. Feeling the slight blistering pain, a small squeal came from her lips as she took an even more defensive position. For some reason, that caused Maki to lose some control as she suddenly started to race towards Cariseka. But, that wasn't good since Maki forgot to pay attention towards her feet. Rushing towards her opponent, she found herself taking one wrong step, and the next thing she knew, Maki had stumbled just enough to leave herself open to an attack. Oops.

As Maki's lungs tried to get more air into them, it really wasn't easy for the young girl. She was already getting really tired, and the bruises were starting to become and more painful. For a moment, she stumbled backwards to get out of Cariseka's reach. But, before Maki could even stop and catch her breath, Cariseka had turned to attack Maki. Feeling the blade come in contact with her hand, she couldn't help herself when the training saber fell out of her hand. That wasn't good at all, and she knew it was finally the end.

"I give, I give." She muttered, collasping onto the floor by the discarded saber. This had proved that she would need to work a little hard with her training, and hopefully maybe the next time around she wouldn't end up losing the fight. But, she was personally glad that it was Cariseka, since her opponent was truly strong and talented. "T-that was a good- duel. H-hopefully we can d-duel again." She muttered out of breath, with a small smile on her lips. After all, now that she was able to catch her breath she felt more relaxed and happy.
