Physical Description: Dark has a lean and cut muscular build made for speed, agility and quick reflexes.
Zanpakutō: Maki's zanpakutō is called Nijigasumi aka "Rainbow Mist". It is released by the command "shine brightly". Nijigasumi has the ability is to control light for various purposes. It can make Maki turn invisible or douse the area in light, both playing havoc with opponents' counterattacks. It can also use light offensively, creating blades of light to cut an opponent. Dark's bankai is called Saigyoku Nijigasumi aka "Swallowing Orb of Rainbow Mist". In this form it can compress light around an opponent, crushing them.
Special Accessories: On his left ear, Dark wears a square platinum energy-sealing earring studded with diamonds. His spiritual pressure is such that, even when wearing the energy-sealing earring, Dark can fight on-par with other captain-level opponents, even when they release their zanpakutō in either shikai or bankai form.
Skills: Dark has the rare skill of compressing his power. By compressing his power, Dark can move at speeds exceeding those of flash steps, and is given matching agility and reflexes, allowing him to use his natural strength to its limits. Because of this skill combined with his almost unmatched spiritual power, Dark is able to use more powerful hollow techniques that vizards normally wouldn't be able to use, such as Bala and Hierro.
Ability: Dark has a unique ability which allows him to speed up his body, and just like an adrenaline rush, he can react and think more quickly. That is because while using this ability everything appears moving in slow motion just like in the Matrix or WANTED.
Personality: Aside from having a "badassness" attitude, Dark has a soft and flirty side as well.
Biography/History: Ever since he can remember, Dark has loved two things; fighting and drifting. Whether it was taking down the #1 ranked fighter in Japan or drifting the most dangerous course in Tokyo, Dark never backed down. But when a gang of drifters who held a grudge decided to light up Dark's car with hundreds of bullets and cause gallons of NOS to explode on his way to a martial arts tournament, the only thing you can really do is...die. Being reborn with awesome mutant X-Men powers was worth it in Dark's eyes. When Dark got into the Soul Reaper Academy, he was excited to learn and make new friends. Dark excelled quickly while in the academy and was the top of his class. Dark's most astounding ability, which the Gotei 13 noticed, was his growth rate: he grasps the basic control of advanced techniques in days where it should take weeks or even years. Also, because of his power level, he has been able to use high level Soul Reaper techniques early, such as sensing 'Spirit Threads' (energy threads that trace back to a specific soul), which only top level Soul Reapers can use. Dark always took his training to new heights so that he could become stronger, but it was mostly for the adrenaline rush he would get. He did this by secretly entering the Hollow Forest, and fighting the strongest of hollows. When students at the academy asked Dark why he had so many cuts and bruises, he would ask them "What the ******** have you done lately?", and they would be too scared to even think about asking again. Like I said, Dark has a "badassness" attitude. He soon reached bankai and had mastered it by the time of his graduation due to the intense training in the hollow forest. On a clear and sunny day he took the captain proficiency test (隊首試験, taishushiken), which requires the ability to perform the bankai. Presumably, most Soul Reapers become captains using this method. At least three existing captains, including the Commander-General, have to witness the test. Immediatly after the test Dark was promoted and given a spot in the Gotei 13 as Captain of the 9th Division. A few years later several captains and vice-captains were unwillingly subjected to hollowification by Aizen, who used some sort of infectious agent to trigger the change. Kisuke Urahara rescued them and attempted to use the Orb of Distortion to reverse the damage, but it failed. After they were sentenced to be executed as hollows, Urahara gave them untraceable gigais for their escape to the human world. Dark and the other shinigami trained in a massive undergound basement located under a warehouse to gain control over their new powers and succeeded.
