It had been a long time since Azure had seen anyone. So long, he probably wouldn't even remember how to use words if it wasn't for Vizor, his penguin. Talking to a penguin can only satisfy your need for communication for so long before you would start to feel like you're going mad. Azure wondered if it was perhaps because of the heat of summer that most Pae were probably hiding away with their families in cooler areas. However, since Azure had no family that was rather hard to do. So instead he set out in search of Pae, perhaps to make a new friend or have someone to talk to.
He left headquarters early in the morning to avoid the heat of the afternoon and walked down the path towards the beach. If anyone was outdoors on days like these they probably would be at the beach, it only seemed to make sense. And Azure didn't mind that because he loved the water.

Isis' toes skimmed across the surface of the clear blue water. It was such a warm day and all she wanted to do was to cool off. Thankfully, she was able to convince her sister to visit the island. Visits to the island were few and far between, but whenver she had the chance to come she would savor the few moments. It was nice having her sister around, but sometimes she wished she had more Pae friends.Nepthys laid under a shady tree and watched her sister play in the water. She didn't mind staying at home and keeping to her family, but she couldn't let her sister head off by herself. Who knew what trouble she would get into!
Nepthys took a good look around her. No one was here. Just the way she liked it.

The beach was desolate, just as Azure had feared. Where could everyone be? He had no idea, but he had walked all the way to the beach so he might as well jump in and cool off before heading home. Nepthys was completely invisible to him under the shady tree since she blended in with the shadows, but as he moved closer to the water Isis became more visible to him. He definitely didn't know this pae, she was a bright golden yellow, almost like the sun, he would've recognized a pae so bright. Azure wanted to say hello, but it had been so long since he had interacted with another he wasn't quite sure how to approach her. Azure came from behind her as he moved towards the water. His shadow hung over her for a while before he finally got up the nerve to speak. "Uh... hello there..."

Isis let out a loud scream at the unfamiliar voice. Clenching her chest to steady her heartbeat, she slowly looked behind her. If it was some kind of monster, she was a goner by now.
Nepthys quickly rose up at her sisters scream, but didn't run towards her. What was she screaming about? It was just another Pae. Rolling her eyes, she appeared from the shadows and headed towards her sister. "What are you screaming about Isis? He is not a scary mummy that has come to suck the life out of you. That's my job." She smirked at her sister.
Looking the newcomer up and down, she decided that he was no threat.
Isis took a deep breath to steady her nerves. Listening to old egyptian tales and watching scary movies didn't stifle her imagination, but fueled it instead. "I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking." she said in a shaky breath. After a couple more breaths her body stopped shaking. "I hope I didn't frighten you. I'm not used to other...of our kinds." she responded with a shaky half smile and an incomplete sentence. Both her and her sister didn't visit the island much, but Isis wanted to change that.
Nepthys crossed her arms over her chest in a defensive manner. She didn't mind new people, she just didn't fully trust them until they gave her a reason. "Who are you?" she asked in a tactless manner.
Isis rolled her eyes and gently shoved her twin. "Nepthy, that was disrespectful." Putting a big smile on her face, she offered the newcomer her hand. "Excuse my sister. My name is Isis and this animal to the right of me is Nepthys."
Nepthys' only response was a raised eyebrow.
Isis rolled her eyes at her sisters actions. "What brings you to the beach?" she politely asked.

Azure jumped back and screamed as a reaction to the girl's screaming. Azure must have jumped back quite a bit when Isis screamed, because he found himself sitting on the sand. Azure quickly jumped back up and brushed the sand off of him. Azure was spooked when another pae came from what seemed like nowhere and he stood silently, trying to gain his composure while the darker pae looked him over. When Azure was finally addressed he looked up at the speaker. He thought he would be rusty with others socially, but the way she addressed him he felt like an outsider. "Me?" Of course she was talking to him, who else would she be talking to since she appeared to know the lighter pae. "I'm Azure" He stood up straight and tall when he realized that his form had been cowering. Azure shook Isis' hand and smiled, at least she was nice. "Its a pleasure to meet you." Azure thought admitting his loneliness would be embarrassing so he avoided mentioning that. "Oh I just thought I'd go for a swim." But he didn't want them to leave him all alone... "And meet some new pae"

Isis's smile brightened up. "Us too! We came here to meet other Pae." She motioned between her and her sister. "Well, definately me. I can't really speak for my sister." she chuckled. The twins personalities were as different as night and day, but somehow they balanced each other out. "They only Pae I know, besides my sister, is my mother Luna. An elder pae." she stated.
Nepthys rolled her eyes at her sister's excitment and looked to the new Pae. "Why swim here? Isn't there other lakes around here for you to go?" she quipped at the boy.
Isis gently pushed her sister's shoulder. "Nepthys!" she gasped. "You are going too far. You should apologize to him." The only response her twin gave her was a raised eyebrow.
Nepthys let out a grunt because she knew her sister was right. Isis was always better with strangers than she was. "What I mean to say is, what brings you to this particular place? Is that better?" she barked back to her sister. She wasn't going to apologize for her actions. He could either deal with it or leave.
Isis smiled and nodded. "Thank you." She looked to Azure. "Yes. What brings you to this particular spot?" she asked.

Azure smiled, that was good he wasn't the only one who was feeling pretty lonely then. It had made him feel insecure to feel like this. "I know a few pae, I just haven't seen them lately..." it was sad he hadn't even seen his sister Trager in awhile, now that she was all grown up she was trying to start her own life. Azure rubbed his shoulder nervously when Nepthys asked him why he wanted to swim there, it made it sound like he wasn't welcome. "Well I suppose I could swim someplace else..." Azure looked kind of sad, he was really hoping to spend some time getting to know them, maybe make a new friend. He felt relief when Isis helped Nepthys clarify what she meant, or at least what Azure hoped she had meant. "Well, this beach is just down the path from headquarters... where I live." Azure felt unusually weak and timid.

Isis shook her head. "No! You don't have to leave. This place is big enough for all of us." she gave her sister a stern look. Nepthys really knew how to bring people down.
She cocked her head at the mention of the headquarters. "I've never been there. Wait... Maybe." The name was familiar. "That must be where Luna picked us up. Our mother." she clarified to Azure. "But were very young at the time. Too young to remember, right?" she looked to her sister.
Even though her sister had no problem correcting her, Isis always looked to her for answers for some odd reason. "Right." Nepthys responded to the bright yellow pae.
Isis looked back to Azure. "Is it nice there?" her eyes glazed over as her imagination began to run rampant. It must be a castle with large rooms, chandeliers, king size beds, and fireplaces, she thought.
Nepthys grunted in frustration at her sister's antics. "It's just a meeting place Isis. Don't get all worked up." she shook her head. It seemed like Isis always had her head in the clouds, while hers was grounded.
The dark pae looked to Azure and crossed her arms at his admission. "Why do you live there? Doesn't your guardian have a home?" It seemed odd to live in a community building. It almost sounded like a shelter.

Azure shrugged his shoulders. "Sure its nice I guess. Its pretty big, lots of places to explore I'm sure that got me into some trouble when I was smaller." Azure told Isis. That was the first place he remembered which is probably why he had always stayed in one of the rooms there rather then searching off to find his own home. Maybe when he was finally an adult he'd look for a real place. "I don't have a guardian." Azure said firmly, others usually found that odd that he didn't have parents but Azure was pretty sure that was the magic of it all. It was as if he had never been a baby since he certainly couldn't survive on his own if he was that young. "Thats my home, I have a room there where I sleep and live."

((Sorry about the late reply, I was in Galway this weekend and I didn't get access to the internet. T.T))
Isis' eyes sparkled with excitement. "We should visit you one of these days and show us all the different places in the building." she squealed with excitement. A blush came over her cheeks as her emotions got the better of her. "Sorry." she chuckled and twirled her hair in an effort to focus on something else. Nepthys raised an eyebrow at the mention of a lack of a guardian. But she quickly figured that it must be the main reason why this Pale was a bit odd. Whether it was a good odd or a bad odd, she'd find out later.
"So, if you don't have a guardian how did you survive? Something or someone must have looked after you." She stated in a matter of fact matter. It would be near impossible for an infant pae to survive with no one looking after the child.

[Sorry for my even later reply. Totally forgot to check.]
"Its fine, maybe I can show you some day. Not the most exciting thing. I think the island is definitely more interesting. Azure told her, Headquarters was just a building with rooms it didn't seem too special to him, but it certainly qualified as a home. Azure glanced at Nepthys, he wasn't sure how he had survived, he had been to young to remember, but thats why he was such a firm believer in magic, because that must've been how he had made it or something. However, Azure wasn't sure if he was too old to believe in magic and he didn't want to be made fun of. "Maybe there was someone there, and I don't remember because I was too young." Although Azure was almost certain no one had ever been there.

((It's all right. I just came into the states last week and had to move into my apartment and get my internet set up, which it finally is! Woot!))
Isis nodded her head. "One day." She mused out loud with a silly smile on her face.
The yellow Pae looked around at her surroundings and nodded in agreement. "This island is extremely different than the places we've been to, right Nepthys?" she asked her darker sister.
Nepthys nodded her head. She had seen far more interesting things while traveling with her guardian. This island didn't rank high on her list.
"Either way, you're still here." she replied, with just a hint of emotion. This Pae didn't seem so bad.
