[AIM RP between my lioness Moja, and Taniduh!'s lion Ukaligiza] Moja didn't bother to stalk past the fauna, for its abundance made them careless. She was free to crouch down at the edge of the watering hole, lapping up the muddy water as a zebra herd next to her sucked it up in gallons. They exchanged wary glances from the corners of their eyes, but for now, they would peacefully co-exist. Standing and stretching, Moja flexed, her toes muddy and stained, the red streaking much like the setting sky. She walked away, noticing the visible calming that crossed the herd's face, and smirking, as she scouted the rest of the area.

A red eye scanned the surrounding area, looking for an easy kill. Ukaligiza was feeling lazy at this twilight-lit time and didn't feel the desire to run far after a stronger, younger prey. Thrill of the hunt was not in his blood, apparently.
Shaking a deep purple maneand digging claws gently into the dirt beneath his paws, he made his way forward, toward a familiar and popular watering hole. He could see zebras gathered there, among other creatures. His purple coloration did him no good when it came to hunting during the day, but at night, it was somewhat useful.

The scent of the other male carried on the breeze to fill Moja's snout, and she turned lazily, curious as ever to size up another predator, watch their methods, learn from them. It so happened that this particular newcomer to her old haunt wasn't to be easily seen. Her acid-green eyes narrowed and she licked her chops, frustrated almost as she continued to watch. Moja's tail flicked, for her this was a game. Guessing what animal would be felled, though it certainly wasn't nearly as amusing to the prey items. She grinned as he neared the zebra. There were larger ones that weren't quite inclined to flight, perhaps it would be one of them. Turning her head, she also mused on the older and crippled of the herd.

Giza could feel the presence of another lion by him and stopped in his tracks. He was curious. ALthough he was always a cold creature, he was also a curious one. One that often looked toward others with awe, whether they deserved it or not. Probably a source of his bitterness and inclement dark side.
He slowed his pace and caught a glimpse of a mainly red lioness, some distance from him. Far enough that she posed no threat, but still close enough to be in his periphory. Giza thought for a moment as to whether he should team with the lioness or leave her be. Most instincts in him said to leave her be, let her fight for food like he has to on his own. But something in him pushed him to converse.
"Are you here alone?" He asked with a rhaspy, just-woke-up tone. He was interested in her situation. Was she hunting for a clan? Was she a single mother? Was she alone?

Moja was startled that he chose to confront her first. But she knew he wasn't stupid. She was not to be his prey tonight. "I am. Well, apart from you now, stranger." She grinned as she called to him. Her tail flopped and she stood, taking only a few small steps towards him.
"Are you looking for a meal, sir?" Apparently Moja was just as interested as him. She could now size him up better, as well, and her eyes ran up and down his thick forelegs which could pin down effectively, though he didn't look quite built for speed. He was probably a better ambush hunter, then. Her smile was a friendly one, and her playful green eyes began to give a hint of the hunger hiding in her stomach.

Giza tilted his head, thinking of a response, looking at her with his blue eye, only. A low sort of purr escaped his throat. "Meal, possibly. I am unsure myself." He looked back towards the herd by the hole, constantly switching the lineup to give others a chance to drink. "A snack is more likely. I have no intentions of doing serious hunting at this time." He turned to face her completely, one red and one blue eye locking on to her green ones. "I'm assuming you're here to hunt? Or at least to scope the herd for later use?" He could think of no other reason to be here at this time, other than to drink. She seemed to be inviting, though he was not one to welcome strangers and invitations. He saw no reason not to help her if she needed it, however, and did, himself, look forward to a treat if one could be found. It wasn't rare that he would team with others in the area, as hunting alone was tedious and often ended without any luck.

"A snack...Mmm" Her words were a purr and she licked her maw again. "However, why waste effort on something that is just as much work as it is reward?" Her eyes were bright and cub-like as she happily chirped her proposition out to the floor. "I have indeed been scoping, as you called it, for much of today, and I know which are ripe for the kill. She cast her eyes back to the standing herd of zebra, rotating again so other members may have a chance to drink. The nearby giraffes, stooping down with their great necks, would offer no warning if there was a hunt. Readjusting her stance, the red lioness smiled, "And for future reference, I am Moja." Now all she had to do would be wait for this male's acceptance of her proposition and name.

Giza looked back toward the animals which seemed too complacent to be prey. Not on guard. It was strange to watch them like that. It was also strange she offered her name to him. He thought this over a moment before responding, as politely as a lion such as himself could, "And I am Ukaligiza." He always offered his full name, never expecting to know anyone long enough that a shorter one would be appropriate.
Looking back to the lioness, he flipped his mane from his eyes and began, "Why spend more effort, Moja, if effort could be spent somewhere else?" A quirky smile licked at his features before hiding again behind his usual rough composure. He looked back at the herd, "And, if you are so informed, pray! do tell which would be the best for hunt this evening.

"Alright, Ukulele, in my humble opinion, the fat zebra in the middle of the herd are the best for the picking. They won't run as fast, and though they are now protected by numbers, if the herd is disturbed, they will fall to the back, where they can be simply dragged down to the dinner plate. Then we may have our fill, whether its just the choicest bits of meat, or everything down to the hide and the hooves." Moja grinned in good spirits, flexing her unsheathed claws into the moist soil. It was then that she turned her attention to the terrain, looking for the perfect spot to begin their assault, and of course, end it.

Giza looked toward the herd as she spoke to him. Eying the ones in the middle, which did seem to have a bit of blubber on their ribs and a little less energy. Rarely did they join the festivities of the others, bucking or kicking. They tended to keep to themselves. Easy kills, he agreed in his mind. He did eye the same zebra she saw, however, the largest of them, though that did not say too much as they were all relatively close in size.
"I see what you mean, yes." He turned back to her, he could sense tension in her veins. She was anxious, hungry, ready to pounce as soon as the time came. Giza nodded his head, "I do agree that the centered oneis quite a delicacy. And could be easily taken if we keep our wits about us and devise a plan, even a shifty one." He leaned back and stretched his shoulders. "Shall we split and take them from the sides?" He didn't even notice her quick slip of tongue with his name earlier. He seemed intent on a kill, now.

Moja looked at the herd again. "Hmm, an almost horned approach, the horns coming in the side?" Again she paused and pondered, then shook her head. "I believe that would be an ideal strategy, if we had another lion, that is. I believe we should adapt that. Start from behind rather than the outside, and drive to the center, where we can spring from either side." Her green eyes seemed naïve, but from the way she spoke, she seemed to know exactly what she was plotting.
The fit young lioness stood, stretched, and scanned again. Their target had seldom moved. It was the others around it that could lead it to be misplaced, but four eyes were better than two, and it would be ensured that it would not happen. Moja grinned, and churred with excitement, feeling the less sun, the more anxious she was.

Giza nodded in agreement. Tearing through to the center would be a good idea. It would leave the smaller, faster zebras to dart away and the main kill would be galloping alone toward death. Giza sniffed at the air, trying to catch scent of any others that may be nearby, plotting similarly, and about to ruin their meal. He didn't catch the smell of any hunters, possibly a small group of hyenas, but the odor was faint and traveling past with the wind.
Giza bared his teeth for a moment, snarling in the general direction of the herd. A quiet growl rumbled in his throat as he turned to the green eyed partner, speaking, "Shall we then?" He pinned his ears back as he stepped forward slowly, seeing if she would follow.

Moja's steps where jumpy and light as she was more than willing to trail behind. Her shoulders were hardly rhythmic as she would step forward, and crouch to the ground, in a stealthy manner, though the prey was oblivious, and she really only succeeded in dirtying her stomach. The minute hunting party was now close enough to count every stripe covering the hides of the outer members, but they were not the prey, rather they were obstacles. Moja took her place, where theoretically she could drive to one flank of the target while Giza covered the other, and she nodded, salivating and shaking for the kill.

Gize could almost feel the anxiety in the ground as Moja moved. Their steps were not in time; their steps were messy and jumbled, like a crazed rabbit. They stepped tenderly, however. as to not scare any of the prey away.
Giza caught a glimpse of Moja's nod and looked forward himself. He was positioned, ready to dart toward the zebra at the center, pushing the other away from his feast, their feast. He flicked his tail from side to side as he moved, it drifting gently across the ground. He looked back to Moja, blue eye catching her green, and gave a solid nod as he darted toward the zebra, ready to take it down. Large paws rumbled his body as he ran toward the herd.

They were synchronized now, paws in motion together, and when Moja latched on to the target zebra's flank, he mimicked by catching the shoulder on the opposite side. The slow beast tumbled to the ground, kicking and screaming in its final struggle. She rushed to its neck, and latched on, watching its bright, fearful eyes glaze over, until they were blankly watching her. When it had stilled, she sat up, maw seeming to be unstained by the thick and copious blood, however she licked, unchanging her appearance, and grinned. Her long fangs, however, were more of a testament to the victory, and without waiting for Giza, she slit open the stomach for the choicest bits, which they could easily share. As she dug in savagely, her tail rocked with joy, her stomach filled with the tender meal, and her eyes were closed in euphoria. She took only a moment to raise her head in a nod to Giza, inviting him to the feast, and a signal of a good job done.
