I play the Clarinet, but that's besides the point. There are five girls in our saxophone section of 8 and one of them is the section leader.

Why not?
People should be able to play whatever instrument they want, regardless of their gender.
We had a few girls in our saxophone section in high school. We had one in the first semester of college, but things happened in her life (some of which I'm not too sure on.) and she dropped out.

The girls in our sax section completely DOMINATE. There are way more of us. And as soon as Lukas graduates, we'll own the section, because Alex will be first chair.

dude, my sax section has 2 guys, and, like, 6. i mean, when you watch tv, you often see that girl saxes don't exist, but in i love lucy (which is really old) she played the sax. so really, it's totally cool for a chick in the sax section. (though at my old school, all the guys blamed me cuz i was the only girl. but they always were willing to help me, too)

im a lazy ninja i know this isn't the topic but does anyone know a basonnist Um... yeah, just a little off topic. I don't know about a "basonnist", but I'm assuming you mean "bassoonist", and in that case I do! I am one, and I know several. I had the fortune (fortune in some ways...) to be a bigger school. We also have quite a few at my college... and only one band. XD (which I like.)
