Ukoo wasn't sure if she was going to be okay. Right now, she was extremely confused... that male was so nice and even though she told him he had to leave-she was a bit confused by the encounter... and the aftereffects. She felt movement in her stomach, and she wondered if she looked rounder. She hated it already. Just like her grandmother had been when she first was pregnant, Ukoo did not know that she was bearing cubs. She was confused by far.

And now, she was laying on the ground-thinking to herself what was going on

To add to the poor girl's low mood, here was the perfect person to make it all better! Or... worse, as the case may be.

Wild red eyes flickered around the dense jungle, the pale body flinching at the moving shadows and dancing around like a young kitten. It seemed Shaitani was in a 'mood' today, one that probably wasn't the best for meeting up with the little blood-binder she'd stolen and brought home so long ago.

This restlessness on Shaitani's part, though, seemed to be a more usual thing these days. After the birth of her own litter, she seemed to feel a sense of loss, the insane lioness spending more time searching for something missing than anything else. Such was the case today, and the reason for her wandering steps now.

A soft chiruping sound came from her as she wandered from one side to the other on the path, calling unconciously for something.

Ukoo lifted her head up at the sound of a churp and stood... birds shouldn't be singing at this time of night. She looked around, her crimson eyes blinking into the night-before she spotted the white and red lioness and felt her heart grow cold... the cubnapper.... the one who brought her here...

And now Ukoo was unsure about a lot of things and she knew that Shaitani was not the one to ask... And she was a bit afraid of her personally... but her postion made her have to be respectful.

"Miss Shaitani"

The sound of a voice calling her name made Shai's head snap around, almost snake-like, as she focused in on the speaker. Red eyes studied the olive colored adolescent as white paws carried her closer, unconciously stalking the young female. She didn't recognize the other, but there was a nagging sort of familiarity on the edge of her clouded, jumbled mind. It was that feeling that told her she knew this young one, but she'd be hard pressed to remember how.

"Mud cub." She purred as she came to a stop a short distance away, pacing in a short arch half way around Ukoo then back again. "Leaf cub, young one. She speaks to her, soft voice, soft eyes..." Shai's voice rambled a little, wandering the way her mind wandered. The click and clatter of bones accompanied it, her restless movements jostling the jewelry she wore.

Typical for the red and white female, she'd completely forgotten what she'd been doing just moments before and the feeling of loss she'd been experiencing. Phantom cubs forgotten, she was more focused now on the young female before her.

Ukoo knew that shaitani forgot things and that she was a bit diffrent it her head-and that she was dangerous if allowed to be. She didn't forget the terror at being carried for so long-in jaws that forgot everything. She winced at the mentioning of her eyes, her mothers, which most likely caused her kidnapping... the deep crimson red they were, seemed to attract the red lioness like a moth to flame. Ukoo nodded her head in greeting, as if the names that Shaitani called where her own. She would accept anything the lioness said... just to keep on her good side. She sat up a bit more, concious of how round she had been getting lately... she felt horrible.

She hadn't eaten much of what she caught for the pride, but she looked as though she ate half each time. She put her paws self consciously in front of her stomach... She didn't want the red lioness to think her as greedy. "I am Ukoo Miss Shai... " She said quietly, to remind her. "You brought me here for King Moses."

Shai came to a stop, paused with a paw lifted before she gently set it down again, her face scrunched up in thought. Like she was wading through murky swamp, she waded through the soup that was her thoughts, struggling for the bits of drift wood that was concious, rational thought.

"My babies are gone." She said simply, almost like she were offering it up as an excuse and appology for her oddness now. Shaking the masked face, she sighed, swinging her head side to side as she looked around. "Ukoo... Yes!" The light of recognition came to her and suddenly a bright smile bloomed on her features, softening her look of madness.

"Blood child, gift for Drakul. Yes." A low purr came from her as she came to the younger lioness and began to rub her cheeks against her affectionately. Personal space was a foreign concept for the lioness and since she seemed to think the two of them the best of friends, she showed it with over enthusiasticly greeting her with a familiarity the other probably didn't appreciate. "How has the little one beeen? Good good? Food good, sleep good?" She rumbled happily.

Ukoo lifted her eyes and observed her fellow lioness's actions warily. She had always been cautious of all the different emotions and personalities that seemed to spring forth from Shai. She blinked and wished she could look to the white and red lioness for more support more often, because Ukoo believed that deep down, there was a normal lioness steeping in the waters of insanity. She lifted her head a the lionesses words. She wasn't sure how to respond do Shai's concern over her children, but the second statement made Ukoo smile. "Yes... Ukoo-that is I."

She lifted her head up as the recognition in her voice and eyes made Ukoo smile more. As much as she feared the lioness, she found her rather comforting sometimes. "Yes... The Bloodletter." She said, cocking her head with a smile. "I am well... " She paused and looked down, she was a bit nervous and confused though. "Mistress Shai..." She paused again. "Can I ask you a question about-babies... like what happens when-you think you are having some."

"Babies?" Shai mumbled as she pulled back, her happy-face falling into lines of confusion. Babies to Shai were soft-little, squirmy-crying things. Things that appeared and disappeared moments later. They were a mystery to her, though moments before she had mentioned searching for hers. Perhaps some small part of her recognized them, but the rest of her was really clueless. Affriti had stolen hers before she'd gotten a proper look at them, and thus a chance to hurt them, while the insane lioness's short memory lost its grip on their birth.

"Stomach-worms?" She asked curiously. "Squirmy wigglies? Cut them out! Parasites leeching life and health, must be cut out of the belly!" Her friendly mood lost, she railed as talons shot from her paws and she scraped them through the dirt to cut deep furrows. "Feel them move, feasting and growing and sapping life... wretched things must die, must fall to the earth and perish with no soft, wet flesh for shelter... with no bright red blood to feed from, the air like poison, like death!"

A hiss slipped from her lips as she crouched low, her forepaws stretched out wide before her and her tail held high in the air. She looked like she had forgotten Ukoo entirely for the moment... but it would come back soon enough when she caught sight of the little blood-letter again.

Ukoo watched Shai curiously, sometimes it was so difficult to understand her completely-considering the wandering of her thoughts. Ukoo had often thought about what really was ailing Shaitani... if she had a split personality or if perhaps, she was plainly insane... she was a bit confused by the red and white lioness's words, and felt her muscles tighten as she began her rampage about the horrible 'squiggling worms'. She wrapped a paw around her midsection, a bit horrified. Were Babies really worms? She looked at her stomach, wondering if her veracious appetite was attributed by worms.

"But-Miss Shaitani, won't carving them out of ones belly cause... wounds and pain to oneself?" She asked, feeling her belly clench as she thought of the sensation of clawing through ones stomach. "And.. I was born with a lot of siblings and cousins at the same time Shaitani... and it was great... " She said simply, looking at the ground.

"After all, you were a babie too once Shaitani..."

Shai's head snapped around as the sound of a voice pulled her out of her rant, her face falling blank with wide, confused red eyes. She had been doing something, but now she'd forgotten it... And Ukoo was speaking to her, saying something about clawing her belly.

"What? Pain? Mmm..." She hummed softly to herself as she let her back end fall, settling on her stomach. "Pain is life, little mud-cub. Life is pain... every day, every step, every breath... Pain." The pale lioness seemed to know what she was talking about, considering the amount of nasty scars she had and her unbalanced mind. Not that it mattered really.

Her head tilted gently as she considered the last statement, that she'd once been a baby, a cub. It was analized and discarded immediently as unimportant. Her, a cub? It seemed a fantastic notion... especially when her mind tried to look back at her past and hit a black wall of nothingness.

"Shaitani is Shaitani..." She murmured absently, her eyes unfocused. "Shai has always been... child of darkness, born of the Coven... For always has she wandered the tree-paths, sung her night-songs, lapped at the red, red blood of prey... There... there is no 'once'... no 'before' or 'first'..." Shai leaned in as she focused on Ukoo, as though struggling to make her understand something she didn't even understand.

Ukoo sat and watched her clan mate speak, and found herself a bit confused.. and she could barely comprehend her words.. but she knew that Shaitani truly felt as though the red and white lioness knew of what she spoke, and she smiled at the female... her thoughts and feelings of the Crimson pelted femme-were rising... as if she was-perhaps replacing a sibling... and Ukoo indeed felt as thought Shai was her own family, despite her odd ways and ramblings. "Yes Shaitani... I understand." She said, crossing her paws in front of her... looking off into the distance.

"Miss Shaitani... I want to confide in you about something.. that I don't understand fully yet... but..." She blinked and gazed over at Shaitani... "I think I am with cub... I can feel them inside me... I think... I may become a Mother sometime."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 07, 2008 8:06 am

For a long moment, the crazed lioness started at the other, blinking slowly. The words, if they penetrated the fog of her mind, made no outward reaction from Shaitani. After the silence had stretched out almost uncomfortably long, she rose and turned sharply, heading to the base of a tree. In fervent silence, she began to tear into the soft ground, digging into the loam of the forrest floor as she tossed leaves and dirt back behind her in all directions.

Shaitani dug as though something important lay buried there, or as if something terrible were nipping at her heels and she was desperate to hide from it in the hole she was making. A painful sort of moan slipped from her throat, though she was unaware she made any sound at all, entirely focused on her digging.

One could never know the reasons behind the pale lioness's actions, but she did not seem pleasured at the news that the cub she had stolen for her pride was now with cubs as she had been, destined to bring more little leeches into the world.

Ukoo looked at her, to see her reaction the the news. She felt on edge-her toes gripping the ground: sheathing and unsheathing. The reaction she received, made her disappointed. Course, how could she expect anything more? She sighed, laying down onto the ground with a flump-her head lowering to her gloved paws. How could she expect anything motherly from Shaitani? She could not even take care of her children safely. Ukoo had sat for them many times-watching them play.

She lifted her head and decided to change the subject, desperate for the lioness attention. "So... Shaitani-have you hunted anything unusual lately?" She asked, keeping her voice slightly pleasant-though inside she just wanted to not be alone. "I saw a rather odd creature the other day... digging and snorting.. it had horns coming out of its mouth..."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 21, 2008 7:55 am

As soon as her hole was dug to her satisfaction, Shaitani flopped down into it chest first. With her forelegs stretched out strangely under her body and her chin the dirt, she let her eyes drift half-shut, staring at nothing as she tucked her back legs up under her. She had forgotten about little Ukoo in her flurry of digging and it took her by surprise when she spoke again. Turning her head, she eyed the young one, her tail twitching irritably.

"Hunting? Oh yes. Shaitani hunts... hunts in the night with the sneeking and the pouncing and the screaming." A slow grin spread over her features as a broken memory came to her, giving her visions of blood on her claws and in her mouth. Oh, lovely memory.

"Horns in its mouth?" The idea pulled her up short and her eyes widened, a ring of white around the red as real fear flooded. "Nonono... bad rip-tear thing... badbadbad..." Aggitated now, Shaitani squirmed in her hole as though she could bury herself in it. She'd probably come acrossed such a creature before and gotten on the wrong side of it's tusks.

Ukoo was glad the change in subject brought Shai back from the vast abyss that was her mind. Sometimes-Ukoo though that Shaitani would never have been accepted in any other pride because of her-unusual habits and Ukoo felt glad for their King-for he accepted Shai for who she was-and he accepted Ukoo as well. She smiled slightly. "Oh yes, sometimes I can hear you hunting-usually they are the cries of the 'hunted' I hear... I wish I could hunt as well as you."

Compliments-always a good thing.

She sat back and tried to picture the strange creature in her mind again-its odd noises escaping its broad nose. "Oh." She said, as she listened to her wiser one's words... and made a mental note that-if Shaitani had a bad experience with one, then it was not worth the trouble. "I will remember that always miss."
