Ellie's heart felt like it was in two. Lately, she'd been feeling lonelier then usual. She may have gained more friends and people around her, but wanted someone who got her. So she sat by the little pond and was leaning against the willow tree that hung over it. The moon beamed down on her giving her a white-ish glow. She always went out when she felt like this, always feeling better when she looked at the stars, but it didn't seem to be working so much this time.

Mizu walked up behind Ellie quietly. "Beautiful night isn't it Ellie?" He didn't have to look at her face or get closer to know who it was leaning on the tree he was now approaching. It shouldn't be hard, when she was all he thought about anymore. Kaze had gotten fed up with him, he was always thinking and staring into space. Finally his mind was at ease, not having to imagine her, she was here with him. His visions didn't do the demonic justice. Not one bit.

Ellie was surprised by the sudden arrival of Mizu. She glanced at him before wiping away the tears that had begun to well up in her eyes. When she finished she looked up at the moon and nodded, "Yeah, it's ok...I kinda wish it'd rain though...I always love it when it rains at night..." She looked down again and sighed as she began to swirl the water in the pond.

"Me too. It always puts me at peace, and never fails me either. But I'm not going to make small talk with you about the fickle weather." He sat next to her and watched her make the water spin. He leaned down to look at her from a lower angle, and also catch her eye. "What's the matter, Ellie? I'm not stupid, I can tell something's wrong. I wanna know..." He hoped he had her trust, she sure had his. Mizu was so happy he'd found her, but pushed that aside to focus on the vixen's feelings.

Ellie stopped and glanced at him before turning her head in the opposite direction. She left her paw in the water a few more second before taking it out and folding her forelegs so she could rest her head on them. "I don't know" she half-sighed, half-growled, as if angry with herself. She sighed again as she stared off into space "...You wouldn't understand..." She wanted to trust Mizu, but she had never really trusted anyone or tried to get close to anybody. She always told herself that she didn't need anyone, but lately it was getting harder to say that...

"Oh I wouldn't? Hmm. If you're worried about my reaction or feelings, look at this." He tapped her should and showed her his wing with the clip and notched ear. "I wasn't born this way. This is not natural. I survived that and still have a nice outlook on life. Trust me, I'll be fine. But if it's your trusting me that's the issue, I'm just gonna have to earn that aren't I?" He smirked at her, unsuccessfully trying to cheer her up. Mizu shook his head to clear it, frowning at himself. If someone really focused they could hear him mutter something along the lines of, 'I need to get better at this'.

Ellie smiled lightly and just shook her head. She'd trust him this time, she'd decided. She took a deep breath before scooting a little closer towards Mizu and began to speak. " I guess....I guess I just wanted someone who actually got me for once..." She looked at the ground with a mixed expression of sadness and anger. "I must sound so stupid" she mumbled before continuing "It's just that people always avoid explain what im like because they don't know me and I hate it...they always say 'Ellie is Ellie and that's all she'll ever be'...maybe I could be more or less than Ellie if I had too..." She growled, continuing to glare at the ground. She calmed down before looking up at Mizu slightly, "I just want someone who gets me enough to put me into words and.....And protect me when I need to be protected and comfort me when I'm sad" She blushed lightly as she admitted that she sometimes wanted to feel vulnerable.

He smiled at her. "Thank you for trusting me." He listened to her. "Ellie... You're special, in a good way. Your the first person I've ever openly shown my injuries. Yes, Ellie is Ellie. But honestly, I wouldn't want her any other way. She just wouldn't be the same. It's okay to be upset or vulnerable, it really is. I'll alway be here as long as she lets me. Just as long as she doesn't change. I wouldn't like that. She wouldn't the same Ellie I fell for. Nor would she be the same one I'm in love with." Mizu smiled at her and realized a blush arose to his cheeks. He shrugged and smiled at her, happy he'd finally told her his feelings.

Ellie blushed slightly as her eyes widened, "Y-You love me?" She pointed to herself. She was amazed she never really thought that anyone would love her. She always found people to think that was annoying. She smiled softly, with a hint of a smirk, at Mizu. She gave him a small kiss on the cheek and sighed, "I think I love you too..." when she had spoken to him a while ago and he asked if she had liked anybody, she had sort of had a crush on Mizu. Now, helping her today, it had turned out to be full-blown love. As rested her head against his shoulder she felt a small drop of water on her nose, causing her to blink. Soon the drops came faster and it began to rain so hard that you could hardly see. Ellie began to laugh as she got up and let her wings flap as the water bounced of the leathery surface.

Mizu's heart thudded crazily in his chest. He hadn't realized he'd been holding his breath until it all came out with a sigh. "I'm so relieved... Wait. So if I was the one you were talking about the day we met..." He reviewed the day in his head. "Hmm. So I'm arrogant and plain am I?" he teased her half-heartedly. He licked her snout, nuzzled her, then laid his head on top of hers. "Ever since the incident... my sister and I felt as if we had a whole inside of us. Like something was missing. When we found each other after being apart so long, I thought the hole would disappear, but it didn't. Kaze met Sorren, her mate, and he changed her life. He filled that gap in her, and strangely, she filled his. But me? My hole stayed there and caused me pain. Then, I met you, Ellie. I don't know if this means anything to you... but... you filled that gaping hole inside of me. All my cares washed away, and all I thought of was you." The rain fell on his fur and he loved it. Everything was right.

Ellie blushed and nodded, "I'm gald" was the only thing that rain aloud her to say before it got swept away by thunder. Ellie looked up at Mizu slightly and tilted her head to the left. "Can I meet your sister someday?" She asked with hopeful eyes. Kaze seemed interesting enough, and a little like her. She put her head back down and nuzzled under his, "Will I ever be able to know what happened that day?..." She asked sleepily.

Mizu looked up at the dark rainy sky. "Yes, you can meet her. She does have the right to know who I'm in love with..." He sighed and looked down. "I can't guarantee she'll like you, smile at you, or even talk to you. She's been like that ever since..." He didn't feel the need to say anymore, thinking Ellie understood. "Maybe... Eventually, yes... That was a horrible day for me Ellie, and I... still have nightmares that engulf me in my sleep. I know my sister does too. Sometimes I won't sleep, because I'm afraid of those nightmares. But while I'm awake... I can hear Kaze's screaming and crying. It pains me every time even though it wasn't my fault." He went silent and closed his eyes and let out a breath. "It's hard for me... even now. I took a better outlook on life and my sister took a darker one. I can't blame her for doing it, since we were both severely injured and then lost each other..."

Ellie looked up at Mizu as he spoke, letting the rain wet her fur completely with any interferance. She nodded before speaking, "Thats fine, I'd just like to meet her is all..she seem's....interesting..."
It practically broke Ellie's heart when he spoke next. "It's fine you don't have to tell me..." she reached up slightly and gave Mizu a light kiss. She nuzzled his cheek and whispered softly, "But if mine with you, would you still have a nightmare?" she asked, sighing.

Interesting.. isn't how I'd put it... he thought.
He nuzzled her back and whispered, "I want to." He paused at her question and looked away. "No... I can't predict when my nightmares will happen or how bad they are. If I did, I wouldn't sleep that particular night. But I can't, so your presence wouldn't make a difference..." He finally looked back at her, forcing a smile. "Waking up to your face would be wonderful, though..." He nuzzled her and returned the kiss.

Ellie laughed and smiled, "Waking up to yours would be better" she smiled slightly, but it was more of a smirk. It had stopped raining and Ellie flapped her wings to shakes off the water. She looked at the muddy ground before looking up at Mizu "Umm, what now?"
