The Prince was seeking solcae as the days grew hotter, No matter how much he tried it seemed that the hotter days here were different than the sands he grew up within. While yes his homeland was more dryer, the humidity in this land which held water seemed much hotter. His eyes shifted upwards at the passing clouds as he closed them in contemplation. Suddenly things were cooler as the light faded to gray letting subtle raindrops fall upon him and the ground eagerly looking for moisture. It was a light rain so his garments really didn't soak in any moisture, but his coat was freed of the dirt that had arrived within the passing breeze.
Reopening his eyes he tossed his magnificent head letting the coolness revive his senses. He mused on wishing for rain only to have it fall on his command with not but a few clouds in the sky. Smiling in contentedness he opened his great wings welcoming the shower as it strengthened. Such was this new land he chose his living place, and it simply was exceptional compared to his homeland.
But boredom was quick and the great Prince longed for company, a missing element in what used to be his everyday life.

Little Nakia happily hummed a wordless tune as she passed through her homeland by birth. It was terribly humid while she had been playing with her companion, Riyaz, earlier today, which is why the filly was slightly wet. The two of them had splashed around in the shallows of the river before the flutter colt, having the short attention span of the twosome, had wandered off after a few hours. The silver filly had been left to wander out on her own with no true destination in mind.
Inhaling, she closed her eyes as a breeze flew around her, letting the water clinging to her feathers and fur dry away and cooling her down. Opening them, she was about to walk forward again when the heavens opened up to let loose a light rain. Nakia squealed in surprise and darted forward; thankfully the rain was light....but due to not watching where she was running towards, her damp hooves and with the added dampness of the grass, poor Nakia wasn't able to catch herself as she accidently slipped and ran straight into something.....warm?
Looking up, a light blush instantly spread across her face before she scampered backwards and bowed in apology to the Soquili.
"YOUR MAJESTY!" She whimpered, wings clamped to her sides with ears pinned against her head in shame. "IM sorry! I didn't mean to....I hope I didn't injure you in some way!" How could she have done that to Atemu?! To the one being she swore loyalty to?

Ugh, she thought, staring up at the sky. It had begun to rain lightly, but even light rain messed up her perfectly arrange braids! It needed to be sunny, so that her horn glinted, her coat shone, and her eyes sparkled as she walked gracefully through the land! ...but no, instead of honoring her with the sun, the clouds decided to come instead and rain. Even if it was--oh drat. She sulked slightly as the light rain began to pour down harder. Frowning as her coat began to get mussed up as well as her hair.
The only good thing that's happened to me so far was meeting Atemu, she grumbled to herself. The meeting at the time made her smile, if a bit wryly, since Atemu had straightened her out a bit. She didn't mind, though; he was true royalty in her eyes, and that was how one should act... well, sort of. She figured Atemu didn't realize just how great and powerful he was to command such attention! Anyway... this rain!! As she walked, she heard sounds of a voice she didn't recognize. Hoping it was someone who knew how to care for royalty like herself, she headed towards the sounds.
As she got closer to the odd noises, she suddenly heard a scream that sounded oddly like "Your Majesty" followed by an apology. Tilting her head, she approached slowly, trying to peer through the rain without tripping about in the muddied ground--she'd had enough of mud after her experience as a filly--only to find a very familiar figure shaded by the rain. "Prince Atemu," she breathed out softly, knowing he wouldn't hear her, but that was fine. She hadn't expected to see him so soon after their last meeting! But just as she had noticed Atemu, she also noticed the filly standing nearby yapping at him as well.
Hmph, she snorted. We'll see just how this goes! As such, she stood in place, out of view (hopefully) of the other two, jealousy and anger burning through her. She wasn't going to let some brat hone in on her prince! First, though, she wanted to see just how the filly reacted to the prince, as well as how Atemu treated her.

He hadn't sensed anyone in the area as the rain cascaded over his entire being, muscles rippling under that finely groomed coat of his. Legs firm and strong as they carried the Prince in subtle steps letting his smooth hooves sink into the ground below him. The air was definitely much cooler now than beforehand, that realization was accurate. As he his stride carried him a few inches more he felt something literally smack into his shoulder.
"What the," he snorted in alarm, his hair weaving with his great head, though the tresses never once lost that strange absence of gravity as it always stretched upward towards the sky. Orbs widened in surprise he lied his gaze upon a frail creature wondering what had collided with him. As his gaze strengthened he realized it was the filly he had encountered a while back. "Nakia... Are you alright?' he asked with a curious flick of his ears, "No no its fine do not apologize little songstress."
Lifting his head upward he took in another scent that was muffled by the rain. Peering harder into the bleakness he noted the mare he'd also had the chance to meet one day on his outing. Nodding his head to her he looked back at Nakia, "What brings you out into the rain lil one?" He was amused both had tread the same path as he and wondered if that lonely streak was about to get a little more interesting.

Nakia smiled at the nickname, ears perked forward happily at the sight of her King and friend. His eyes were just as gentle and calm as she remembered, something that soothed her nerves.
"Yes, your Ma-I mean, Atemu." Nakia remembered that he had asked they be upon equal terms. She glanced around as the drizzle continued, bright eyes staring at the treeline as a new scent caught her attention for a moment. Was that another Soquili?
"Well, I was playing with a friend of mine earlier at the river." She giggled as the memory came forth at her words. "He and I were trying to drive away the heat of the day when he wandered off on his own...That's when I started off on my own as well." Nakia turned back and smiled at the older Soquili; the scent from before had faded away so it didn't trouble her. "That's when I ran into you, Atemu." Wings spread, the filly scampered backwards a bit while flapping them. A few feathers came loose and floated towards the ground, just like she had been told they would. "But what are you doing out here by yourself...?" She re-folded them and cocked her head in confusion. "Were you going anywhere in particular?"

Well, that was a surprise, she thought, seeing how Atemu had already noted her presence by nodding in her direction. She gave a little bow to tell him she saw and then began to walk to a position where the filly couldn't scent her. The rain didn't stop her scent from exploding over the distance, especially since her body was pumping hard to keep it warm from the rain as it drizzled over her like silk. She had gone slightly numb after standing still for a long time like that...
Finally, she appeared next to the duo, greeting Atemu and ignoring the offending nuisance that was the filly. "Salutations, stranger." She winked with a grin. "Interesting to see that we met up again. How have you been?" Finally, she turned to stare at the filly with an odd look, thinking that perhaps this Wind foal was a bit too eager. "Who are you?" she asked, trying to impress Atemu but not really caring about the little foal's name. Whatever, might as well do something nice once in a while. Sort of.
"I am Khepri," she introduced herself, "...and you seem to know this familiar stranger." Of course she was going to imply that Atemu was hers, not this young idiot who thought she could have the prince's attention! Fat chance of that! Khepri thought triumphantly. I'm prettier, I'm smarter, I'm faster, I'm stronger, I'm everything better than this annoying little bugger! She tried to keep herself from glaring smugly at the filly as she turned to smile cutely at Atemu.

The great prince mused for two familiar faces had came about in this seemingly non boring day now. First the rain had fallen when he asked it and now company was creating a rainbow in the bleak sky that wrapped around them. And sure enough the sun peeked from the clouds and there formed the most beautiful rainbow as the last few remaining drops fell downward in little pitter-patter formations bouncing playfully off the others.
"I see... hmm as I have said before there is no room for apologies for a simple misunderstanding. Neither of us would have realized the other would connect in the same setting." He smiled and pondered his answer before responding to her question.
"I am just out enjoying a fine summer day little one. I asked the clouds to bring rain and they listened... and now, "he paused gazing up at the rainbow that shimmered with droplets of a spectrum beauty as it stretched high above their heads. The day definitely showed promise for all of them- he now noted Khepri as she had joined them.
"Lady Khepri I bid you welcome once again to join me in a gathering with Nakia under such a beautiful ribbon that covers the sky. By chance don't consider me ignorant but I've never seen such beauty formed by the sky. Come tell me what I am witnessing that never appears within the dessert so freely?" So was the Prince curious to the strange colored band, but he also was sensing hostility from the other two as well. What to do to keep tension at a peaceful state he wondered. Honestly back in the Land of the Sands he had dealt with mares whom literally would fall to their knees in his presence. He nodded in agreement knowing things would occur the same here as well.

Staring at the newcomer at the moment, Nakia bowed her head in welcome as well while trying to ignore the feeling she got from the older Soquili. Something about her...it just, it seemed to be bad thing...the little filly just couldn't put her hoof on it at that exact moment. "Greeting, Lady Khepri." It was best to treat others with respect at first greetings. "My name is Nakia."
With a smile that contained no mocking, she returned her attention back to the stallion on Prince as the rainbow came forth at the rains' summons. Giggling, Nakia watched it form against the clouds with bright eyes. "It is called a Rainbow, Atemu. It comes after the rain, much like....when hope comes after despair. It is viewed differently by others." She smiled. "Some see it as a hope, others view it as a wish. It depends on what you want to call it."
