The Keystone Walled Garden is located at the rear of the Dorm Building in order to prevent temptation from reaching the regular students at the Academy. Here, the residents of Keystone Dorm can enjoy the outside environment without the stress of avoiding Normal students. They can use their powers in minimal amounts. These gardens are NOT open to all students - only Keystone Students.

" And the fact that I can levitate myself with magic, and catch you with magic wouldn't factor in at all." He rolled his eyes playfully at her. There was still a warm blush on his cheeks that added a healthy, handsome color. He was already quite fond of the peppy, lovely fae.

"Of course not." Fern pranced around for a second in a jig before turning to him once more. "Did you ever see any of those women in court?" she asked, wondering what made hi so bold.

He chuckled.
" I saw them, but didn't see anything in them- mind or soul. Believe me Fern, you are much more interesting and real than those porcelain sculptures. I prefer that." He beamed. He wasn't usually so bold, but something about her brought that side out in him.
" I just pray my new friend doesn't turn out like that."

"I'm not made of porcelain and finery, Gavin. I'm just me." Fern spun once, twice, in the breeze before stopping once more to look at him carefully once more. "So, why don't you like them? Aren't the courtly people supposed to like that sort of thing?" She did hope that all her questions weren't too annoying.

" Not all courtly people like that. Suffice it to say, I'm not like other guys." Gavin shrugged, smiling.
He thought for a little while.
" I guess it was partially rebellion against my parents trying to set me up to marry someone I didn't love, and.." He chuckled sheepishly.
" Forgive me if it sounds odd or too dreamy, but nothing about them every captured my attention. Something within me said ' No, she's out there somewhere in the real world, not made of pearls and silk.'" He chuckled again from embaressment.
" That sounded completely weird, I'd bet." He rubbed the back of his neck with a hand.

"No, it didn't. It sounded nice." Fern smiled and nodded smartly. "There's a level head on your shoulders, Gavin. You'll go far with it, I'm sure." As she sauntered past plants, she stretched her fingers out to touch them. Each held memories of other creatures passing by, some happy, some sad. There were tinges of homesickness resting within the leaves as well.

Gavin grinned, ruffling his hair from mollified embarresment.
" Thanks." He walked beside her, watching her and her movements. They were quiet while she messed with the plants, and he felt silence was a rare thing with Fern.

She turned her bright, dark eyes to him. They always seemed to be smiling.
"Do you ever touch the plants to get feelings? There's always something here and there..." Every time she looked at him, Fern felt a little jolt run through her. Elves were always beautiful folk, but Gavin to her was pristine in an almost untouchable way. I wonder how he thinks of me, she mused while doing a little spin to face him.

He shrugged.
" Sometimes. Fae are more proficient in that than Elves are, I'm afraid." He smiled at her. His dark eyes were gentle, like they always seemed to be. It was odd for an elf to have dark eyes, they were usually green or blue, but they were his mothers eyes, so it didn't matter much to him.
He watched her just as closely as she watched him, taking in every aspect of her features. He blushed when his mind commented her her beauty, and he looked away off towards the sky. They resumed walking.

Fern walked on ahead, dancing as she did. She had no cares of other's opinions.
After a few steps, a sickening wave of unseen energy rippled through the area. It seemed to strike Fern with a heavy force, causing her to stop mid-step in her little dance.
For a moment, the world spun, her legs went weak...

Gavin smiled, completely at ease as he followed Fern around. It seemed the world was a-ok...
A tremendous force his Gavin right in his chest, causing him to stumble in suprise. He cut off the connection to his magical power to alleviate the crushing sensation, but Fern wasn't so lucky. Before she hit the ground, he shot forward to catch her mid fall, supporting her in his arms.
" Hey, are you alright?" He helped her over to a stone bench, cradling her.

Fern came to with a gasp. Somehow between a turning step and a spin, she had blacked out and was being supported by Gavin.
"Eh... What was that? It felt like I was being hit by... I can't even describe it." A part of her wanted to say it was like a heatless fire, or a waterless wave, but her mind wasn't cooperating.
"Are you alright, though, Gavin?" She blinked her eyes a few times, and soon realized just how close to him he was. The red in her cheeks flared up fast as did her heart rate.

" Like a crushing but stretching feeling?" He said, to try and finish what she said. Gavin smiled, took one look at her face, blushed and then burst into brilliant laughter. He held her recklessly close-perhaps he didn't notice- as he laughed, burying his head into her hair as his shoulders shook. He wasn't totally sure why he was laughing, but he was.
