Bloodbath 3

Colin vs Lazenca
PostPosted: Mon Jun 30, 2008 10:37 pm

Once upon a time, there was a wulfman. This wulfman had heard about this tournament, this "Bloodbath." And he entered, and for about five minutes it was good.

Then he was beaten.

So he joined in the next year.

And he was beaten.

So what would keep a wulfman returning to a ring where he keeps getting beaten? A love of punishment. A love of the fight. And the knowledge, the undeniable knowledge that...

"Scars build character. Come out and get some character."

He waited, no weapons drawn, left arm totally limp.

New.

It's what he was. New to the tournament scene, new entrepreneur, and new inkpad. Some of the tattoos on his body...well, most of the tattoos on his body, were new. It'd be hard to tell, though, with his yellow Daft Punk shirt and black shorts on. His Converse shoes gave off a soft dull click with every step.

He could swear he'd seen this man before.....

Standing there, Colin waited, a stick slid into his very back belt loop. It was 2.7 feet long, so it would be seen on either side of his waist, and was 1 inch thick.

Lazenca walked forward, just kinda... y'know... looking over his opponent. He had a visible large kinda knife on his left side, left undrawn. He was also apparently kinda tired, eyes only half-opened, as he approached. This guy wasn't moving, so... it was up to Lazenca to throw the first punch. And he kinda did, swiping his arm up in front of Colin's face. The palm was open, and the point was to pretty much cover his face while scratching it if he could. 'Cause while his claws couldn't cut through steel now thanks to their location, having four points drawn across your face (one across the eyes!) kinda hurts. Welts might be popping up, at the least.

Or nooooot.

With that face swipe, his base dropped just a bit. Maybe Colin would be able to see it through peripheral vision, Laz's head dropping so he looked like he was actually prepared to fight, but that's about it... since Laz's hand was all in his face.

The sleepy boy-o would close the gap between the two slowly, almost reluctantly. Man looked tired, out of it, almost unconscious. Never let your guard down, though. Drunken masters have looked even worse than this man and have killed with ease.

Laz's attack would work, Colin standing there, waiting for him to lash out at the British Irish ex-merc. His sight would practically vanish as a palm, well, palmed face, nails clawing at what flesh it could reach.

The hand didn't remain there long, though. Colin would reach up with his right hand, assuming the attack was from his opponent's right hand, and would try to grip the man's wrist. If successful, Colin would pull the wrist forward and to the left, removing it from his face, followed by a four-finger stab at the fleshy skin of his armpit.

If not, then the hand should at least be away from his face.

If it mattered at all, Lazenca fully expected to get hit with the "stick" in the head or something... at least tells you what kind of damage he was prepared to take to do what he wanted to do.

Colin's wrist grab would work pretty much uncontested. "Pretty much" because... what Laz would've done to someone throwing their hand against his face... is grab it... so with that in mind, he did what he'd do against such moves, which was counter-grab. So now they had each other's right wrists, with Laz's being forced down. However, this is where Colin would feel pulling, Lazenca's arm flexing and pulling. With this, his hips were turning to the left, leg already lifting to unleash coiled power with a right straight kick to the head.

There was no preparation here to interrupt; it'd already been prepared through the stolen step; Lazenca's lowering slightly was because he crossed his legs and prepared for the kick to come. And of course, Colin couldn't see this because he had a hand in his face. The kick was balanced by using Colin himself as a crutch.

Yes, they were incredibly close and one would wonder if Lazenca had enough power and space to properly kick through his opponent's head. But one had to hope Laz knew what he was doing and had absolute faith in his ability to knock his opponent out in one move with what was pretty much a superkick, with full extension.

As for the underarm stab, it'd have to get around Lazenca's raised right leg. Even if he was able to execute it before the kick... well... again, he was prepared for a hit to the head with that stick. Lazenca would deal. However, since Lazenca was turning the way he was being pulled, despite resistance, he'd hesitate a second in putting his foot down and keep using Colin as that crutch, so he didn't lose his own balance.

Colin's grab was countered by another. This wasn't good since it kept him from getting the strike in full strength, so he'd change his plans slightly. Still forcing Laz's hands away, He'd, instead of knifing Laz under is arm, shift the strike forward, his hand now aiming for the man's neck. Sure, he could tense his neck and try to absorb most of the power, but a greater force applied through a smaller surface area, such as his finger strike, would deal much more damage than a punch of the same speed and power would. And, even though he was still somewhat blinded by the hand in his face, Colin could assume where his neck was.

To make up for the little extra distance, and for the pull on his body, Colin would take a step towards Laz, pivoting a tad to remove the hand from his face. Now he could make sure the strike was on path...

...and see the foot begin to lift off of the ground.

Not a good sign. Not good at all.

Colin was pulling Lazenca to him. To properly balance for the kick, Lazenca was pulling away, but was still leaning to his left. This means Lazenca's right arm is crossing his face with the shoulder crossing the neck. So now, Lazenca's shoulder would be blocking the knife hand by sheer positioning. Perhaps if Colin hadn't pulled him, Lazenca would have his arm over the leg like was supposed to happen, and the neck punch would go through... right before (and we're talking one-half second before; see being totally prepared by the time the wrist was taken) the stolen kick. It might've made Lazenca choke and miss the sweet spot with his foot because he coughed and it went an inch too far to the right, so it'd just be a nice kick without the epic damage. But....

Proper execution of a standing kick, despite superness, implies a hand be up protecting the face-- not happening, since that left arm was deadweight. The other hand is supposed to up close on the body, or extended... more protection from side hits or instant imbalances. The imbalance was being fought, as well as the counter-hit.

Two birds, one stone, and Colin still got superkicked.

And so he was.

Colin would receive the kick gracefully. Well, not really, but what can you say. A kick to the head was a kick to the head. No time left to react except to tilt his head away to reduce the impact, changing it from a slam into his skull to a strike that would glance off of his head.

Still, that was one big load of ouch.

His head wold snap away, spinning his body. It would tear free from Laz's grasp, unless the man had a killer grip on his wrist, and fall to his knees five feet away. He was dazed, his vision swimming after it's trip through a tunnel, but he could still see Laz. Colin would raise his arms before his head, ready to defend himself if another attack was launched, though he couldn't tell if he'd be able to stop it. He'd blink a few times. s**t was a little blurry, too.

He would've had an awesome grip, if he wasn't so imbalanced. It didn't do well to have a falling person in your hand the whole time... that landing was messed up... so Lazenca let him go when the tug was great enough. Rather than trying to stumble a step and straighten along the way for a pursuit or anything like that, Laz straightened his body and slowly turned his wrist, working it out a little.

His eyes were on Colin, who was being given time to recover. Maybe it was the wrong thing to do, but that's what was happening. When Colin was able to focus, he'd see that Lazenca hadn't moved from his position, and had the one right hand out, ring finger curled back as the rest of the fingers, as well as his arm (forearm close to the body, elbow curled) were relaxed. His stance was comfortably shoulder-width apart, and he still looked far too tired to be fighting.

As long as Colin didn't take more than... 10 seconds getting back up, Lazenca would allow the opponent to reset himself. Of course, the implication was that Colin now had to approach and attack.

[Pime Taradoxing slightly considering only one fight would technically be going at once. Lulz.]

So the femme bounty hunter quickly found out that the confounded glass that seperated the rest of the silo from the 'fighting ring' was certainly a b***h to hear through and any attempts at shouting down to the competitors was totally worthless.

With some grumbles, it was only a few moments before a funny idea came to mind.

So if they couldn't hear, they could read right?

Absolute genius.

So Ryke made a mad dash back to the spectators "lounge" to see if she couldn't find herself something to write on and write with. The author assuming there was paper and a sharpie just laying around, a sign was forged. Retarded as it might be, it was still no less a sign.

Reading:

Don't Die
...
Again

She grinned to herself.

The words on the paper were of course directed to Colin and he would, that is if he caught sight of the pathetic attempt at cheering him on, understand just what she meant. The man had a thing for dying a lot, so she came to find out shortly after meeting him during the trek to Frostschild and in this tournament where extreme amounts of violence were not only encouraged but expected, well the chances of it happening again were looking pretty high. It was her quirky way of rooting for her new 'companion'.

Colin would shake his head as he made his way back up to his feet, his vision finally settling back into a single, solid image. Either Laz was giving hi time to recover, or he didn't know how to deal with a kneeling enemy. More then likely it was the former of the choices. Not taking his eyes off of the man, Colin stood, some cuts and scratches criss-crossing his face. He'd have to return the favor.

Once back on his feet, Colin would take a step towards Laz, turning his body so that his left shoulder was towards the man, arm bent as it crossed his body, the hand just below his waist on his right hip, his elbow over the left, his right hand raised to protect his face.

Another step, and he'd lash out, his hand turned so that the palm faced up, clenched fist aimed to bring knuckles down on Laz's nose. If it hit, it would smart at the least, and break at the most.

If, that is.

Colin hadn't looked up yet, not wanting to take the man out of his sights, so Ryke's sign would go unheeded for now.

With eyes and countenance calm, Lazenca's response to the simple attack was a simple defense-- his arm snapped to himself while the wrist jutted out to deflect the blow. The momentum hadn't been stopped at all, simply redirected so that the hand would pass inches from his face.

That was it, seriously. I promise.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 03, 2008 9:30 pm

So it was knocked to the side. Let's see if this worked.

As the hand missed Laz's face thank to a simple block, Colin would rotate his arm, turning his palm down and opening his fist. He'd then bend the wrist, his fingers sliding behind Laz's neck, where they would try to grab either flesh or hair, whatever there was to hold. With that leverage, Colin would pull the man forward and turn his hips swiftly, lifting his right leg and bending it in an attempt to knee the man in his gut.

Colin owed him. His head was beginning to bruise in the back where foot had played chicken with head.

"Hmm... ?!"

Lazenca was big on not letting people touch his neck, and would follow through the block enough to be sure he wasn't getting grabbed there. But as for Laz's hair? Yeah, that was right there and free for the yanking. Kinda made a guy wish he stuck with the shorter cuts, to prevent this nonsense.

The tug was quick, as was Lazenca's arm. Feeling himself go down, he thought to bring the arm down and hook it across, to serve as a hasty barrier between the two men... the intent was to push back away, of course. It wouldn't stop the knee from landing though, since Lazenca's arm was across Colin's chest-- way too high to be of any use.

His own gut tightened at the knee and teeth clenched. This is when his pushed outward with the arm, seeking to separate them. Any bit of air would be used to force an open palm on Colin's chest to resist the hair hold, and pull himself up. Such distance would also stop easy kneeing.
