Koorie was swimming up the river; she'd recently changed where she'd been living from the pond to a near by river. There was more she could do here and more that she could eat. Not to mention she could use the river to get to places a lot easier than she could by walking. Life was much easier for her, and currently she was chasing some fish up against the currents.
Her jaws snapping shut into the tasty morsel, she climbed up out of the water and onto the banks to enjoy her meal.

Flame stood by the pond wondering where Koorie was. Usually Flame could always find her at the pond, but today was different. She was no where to be seen. He had just got done with his run around the valley and now he wanted to visit Koorie, like he usually did. He figured she must have gone somewhere and that perhaps she would return soon. Of course, Flame was too impatient to wait so he began to walk down the river trying to see if he could pick up her scent anywhere.

Koorie finished the delicacy and stretched a bit, giving a yawn. She was missing Flame, that was for sure. This was about the time when he'd come to her pond and talk to her. Part of her silently wondered if he was out looking for her.
Her face grew a little red when she recalled the kiss he'd left her with that one time. Flame was handsome and kind, but she was still weary about him. She didn't know why, but maybe it was for no reason at all. Only time would tell.
She sighed and stared into the water, thinking of him.

Flame continued walking by the edge of the river, taking in the warm weather as he did. It was another sunny day, but that was normal for this time of year. He loved the heat, it made the fire on his mane and tail blaze bigger than ever. He knew it was hard on Koorie though, but that's why she had the water. It kept her cool, and he was glad for that.
He stopped and lowered his head to get a drink. A cool breeze blew and Flame suddenly raised his head up. He snorted and neighed softly as his flames danced in the breeze. He thought he picked up Koorie's scent, and so he began to keep walking down the river. It wasn't long till he saw her staring into the water. He continued his pace, wondering if she would sense that he was coming.

Koorie was lost in her thoughts, completely unaware that the object of her musings was standing behind her, approaching her. Mentally, her mind was racing on whether or not her worries were to be ignored.
The heat was rising quickly, and she was becoming miserably hot now. She was going to have to retreat back into the water for the majority of the day if this heat kept up.

As Flame got closer to her he realized that she was deep in thought. He wondered what it was she was thinking about.
He got within a few feet from her and stood at the waters edge watching. He didn't want to disturb her, and besides, he had to admit - she was fun to watch.

Koorie noticed movement in the reflection the water carried, and her turned to see a familiar glowing figure. "Flame...." Her voice was soft, and relief washed over her. It seemed he'd come to find her; but then again, he could have just happened upon her. Still, it was a nice thought to be able to have; actually having someone want to be with you enough to seek you out when you leave a place.

"Hey," he smiled as he spoke. He was glad to be around her.
"What are you doing out here?" He asked her. He wondered if she just came here for the fun of it, or if she had moved without telling him.
He chuckled, "You trying to avoid me?"

Koorie gave him a soft smile in return. "I'd never try to avoid you, you know that. If I were upset with you, I'd just open a can of butt-whoop...." Gently, her finned half wrapped around one of Flame's hind legs. "I meant to tell you yesterday that I was thinking of changing to a new place... I'm rather glad to see you came searching for me."

Flame beamed as he nuzzled her. He was glad that she wasn't avoiding him, although he hadn't honestly thought that she was.
"Well, I'm glad I cam searching for you too. If not I would still be sitting by the lake." He laughed and then went on. "Well, this is a nice place anyway. What made you decide to move?"

Koorie felt the warm tinglies going through her as he nuzzled her, and she couldn't help but return the affections. Despite having been complete opposites, she couldn't imagine living life without a bit of him in it anymore. "I wanted to find somewhere that I would have an easier time getting to newer places with.

"Oh. That makes sense. It looks like this river branches off and connects to many different things." He grinned and then gave her a little wink, "It's closer to my mountain too."
The breeze blew gently, creating a nice escape from the heat. Or at least he hoped that's how it felt to Koorie. He didn't mind the heat. The wind did tossle his flames about a bit though. He liked that feeling. He looked down the river for a moment and then looked back at Koorie.
"So you wanna go somewhere? I'll walk up here and follow the river."

Koorie closed her eyes as the breeze blew, and gently she rested her head on Flame's shoulder, closing her eyes; she was so content here with the male. She opened an eye as he started talking about going somewhere.
"Hm, it's fully up to you. Did you have some place in mind?"

Flame felt himself get warmer at her touch, despite the coolness of her skin.
"Ah, not really. I'm fine with whatever. Being with you is enough. So if there is ever anywhere you want to go, just let me know."

Koorie felt a smile tug at her lips and she took a breath, slowly letting it out. "I have yet to explore the end of the river where the water feeds into the ocean.... Would you like to go there?" She was rather curious to see where the river ended.
