The Battleground As both trainers step into stadium, the plasma screen blinked on and showed the spinning images of the different battle fields. It slows down to reveal
THE DESERT FIELD
The center of battleground opened up and the desert field platform rose into the trainers' sights. Powerful heat lamps, with the addition of the stadium air conditioners set on “hot”, create the authentic heat wave needed for this particular territory. Heated sand stretches from trainer platform to trainer platform. There is very little to no shelter areas in this field, the only things truly to hide behind is a single cacti standing tall near the eastern end of the field and the large boulder of sandstone that lays centerfield. Various chunks of rock and desert plants (far too small to hide behind) are scattered randomly in the sand. On very random occasions, if this field is selected, the scenery will change to a monsoon setting. The ceiling will be closed and the temperature will drop several degrees to a much colder level. Harsh rain-like settings will rain down on the two battling pokemon, causing the sand to turn to mud and the field will slowly start to flood. Movement is very difficult and visually is poor.

Hayne was so excited about this battle. He's been waiting a while for another battle now. Stepping onto the trainer area Hayne grabbed his Pokeball and gave it kiss. He threw towards the field thus releasing Swablu. "Come on out Swablu!"
Swablu flew around sniffing the air. The weather is gunna change, and soon!

Sunnie walked into the stadium and whined. "Raaiiin? Oh nooo! I'm going to get all wet now... and I just styled my hair, too.... bleh..." After pouting and taking her place on the trainer platform, she thought of something else. "...oh no, Vitesse isn't going to like this... at all... uhhh... oh well..." She took her pokeball off of her belt and sent him out onto the soaked field.
"...AAAAAGHHH! RAAAIIIN!!" Vitesse screamed in terror, running around in a panicked state. "I HATE RAIN!! Make it go make it go MAKE IT GOOO!!" He didn't even look around for his opponent - he just kept on running and running and screaming until they showed up...

Sunnie shivered as the rain began to pour down upon her. "Iiiick... I'm not going to like this at all..." She looked down at her panicky pokemon, though, and began to feel a little better about her predicament. "I better hope this ends quick, for Vito's sake... Take Down!"
"AGHHH!" Vitesse said, screaming at the downpour upon him. Not even taking the time to shoot his usual stream of insults at the poor Swablu, he flung himself in it's direction in hopes of taking it down, fast.

Swablu tried to dodge the attack but the Ponyta connected with a hard take down. Swablu got up again with difficulty. The rain wasn’t doing any good for her either, Swablu’s soaked wings made it hard for her to fly.
Hayne squinted a bit to see the battle. Stupid, stupid monsoon he thought. “Alright Swablu! Give them a taste of your Aerial Ace!” he shouted.
Swablu sharply flew down towards Vitesse, delivering an aerial ace.

"Arrghh!!" shouted Vitesse as he was slashed by a vicious Aerial Ace in the side. The impact caused him to stumble and fall... right into a puddle of water. He screamed in absolute terror as he splashed right into it. "AHHHHHH!!! WATERRRR I HATE WATERRRR!!"
Sunnie giggled despite herself at her very wet pokemon. "Aww, poor Vito, falling in the water... Alright, use Stomp!"
Vitesse got up out of the puddle, wet sand hanging onto his body. "I hate this... I hate this... I really do..." he said through his clenched teeth, seething with anger. He quickly galloped towards Swablu, who was low to the ground after the attack, and reared up in front of her, ready to slam his front hooves down for his attack.

Swablu was pinned down to the ground for a bit until Ponyta jumped back. Hayne waited until Saige was able to flap her wings a couple of times before issuing another attack.
“Try using Take Down this time Swablu!” Hayne ordered.
Saige flew towards Vitesse, attempting to slam her body into the Ponyta successfully knocking him down.

"Ooof!" said Vitesse as the air was knocked out of him upon Swablu's impact. He stumbled a bit, but luckily kept himself from falling into any puddles. "Aghh... this sucks... pain... and RAIN..!!"
"Good job, Glace!" Sunnie cheered out at her pokemon, attempting to make him feel less horribly uncomfortable. "Now, use Tackle!"
With a huge leap, Vitesse bounded off of the ground at the mid-air Swablu. He hoped to knock her into a puddle for a change of events.

Swablu let out a cry of pain. That was one strong tackle. The muddy desert floor got her wings dirty. Ascending up from the ground a bit, Saige shook out as much mud as she could.
“Use Aerial Ace again Swablu!” Hayne called to the preoccupied bird.
Saige focused on Vitesse, not wanting to miss. Then the Swablu swooped down to deliver an aerial ace.

((OOPS - and rofl I called my pokemon Glace last post xDD))
"Arrghh!" Vitesse cried upon being slashed by the swablu. Man, this little bird was starting to get on his nerves... and of course, the rain was no walk in the park, either.
"Eeek, Vito, don't give up!" Sunnie cried. "Stomp it, NOW!"
With a mighty leap, Vitesse flew up into the air and began crashing down upon Saige. "Alright, as soon as you're done, I can get out of this rain! So hurry up and lose, ugly bird!!"

Hayne watched amusingly at the Pokemons' conversation. A couple of irrated neighs from Vitesse and Saige is taken to the ground. As she ascended back up, very angry displeased chortles were replied.
Hayne was clueless as to what it could be about but oh wells, "Saige use that anger in your next move: Fury Attack!" he commanded.
Swablu swooped down at the Ponyta, swiping him a good couple of times.

"Arrghh! Get off of mee!!" Vitesse cried as Saige repeatedly swooped down upon him, scratching up his face with her talons. "You're ruining my beautiful face!!"
Sunnie began to bite her thumb. Eek, he's really not happy... she thought. She leaned over the edge to command her pokemon. "Alright, Vitesse! Tackle upwards and send 'er flying!"
Vitesse looked up at Saige. "You won't keep me here any longer!!" he said as he leaped up with immense force.
